Some dipshits are supposedly planning this here in Jacksonville... which is pretty hilarious.
I live in Louisville... and there is nothing going down and I decided to call this a prank call.
A few kids from Atherton are freaking out on facebook and talking about how they're scared for their lives, although they do go to Atherton so what do you expect.
I have no idea how this film managed to attract this kind of pointlessly stupid cult following.
I'm ashamed to admit that I have at least a few friends who wish The Purge was a real thing that happened, despite the likelihood that they would be prime purging targets (one's got crippling diabetes and can't work = drain on the system, the other is a bum who doesn't work and mooches off of grants/his wife = waste of space)
such a dumb movie concept
yeah no laws instead of stealing shit im just gonna mow bitches down lol!
Besides the movies assume that the only reason people kill other people is out of rage and impulse. Because apparently not a single murder in the history of mankind was for personal gain or anything.

It's not even that. If it was just due to rage and impulse, there would still be heat-of-the-moment murders.
The movie assumes that murder is just something that builds up in someone's system that they have to let out every once in a while. Like everyone has a murder fetish.
Well, I can tell the producers have a murder fetish, but it's incorrect to project yourself that much on everyone else.
i'm kinda eager to see the sequel tbh, it looks a lot less shit than the original movie
lmao why the fuck did this get rated dumb
i'm kinda eager to see the sequel tbh, it looks a lot less shit than the original movie
It's not as shit and it's better satire but that basically comes down to saying a can of rotten beans doesn't smell as bad as a steaming log of shit.
I really want to leave this state
Why do you think I joined the military? I lived in Somerset from the age of 8 and when I graduated High School I was like 'I need to get the fuck out of here'
i'm kinda eager to see the sequel tbh, it looks a lot less shit than the original movie
It's horrible. The entire concept is really dumb and laughable and the movie itself is also terrible. The acting is boring and flat, you don't care about the forgettable characters, and the action isn't exciting and all the blood and muzzle flashes are CGI. I didn't see the first movie so I don't know if it also contained this, but the concept is extremely forced and cringeworthy. It's 100% a skip.
Watch it all turn out to be a dumb guerrilla marketing stunt for that stupid movie franchise.

I don't know about you but I wouldn't want a bunch of hoodlums to break windows and shit to promote my movie. If anything this is gonna make the sales worse.
That would be a massive class-action lawsuit in the making.
lol unironically saying chimpout totally not a gimmick
What? It was spread by a bunch of black teenagers upset over the death of Michael Brown who was now (ironically) shot by a black cop but they still want to participate in the civil unrest (mainly looting) so are just saying "let's have a purge like that movie to get free things, they can't kill/arrest all of us, right?"
Love my state. This is why we say Louisville belongs to Indiana. Listening to the police scanners it seems pretty much like a normal city night crime wise.
Someone actually in Louisville is live blogging: http://thoughtcatalog.com/rob-fee/2014/08/live-blog-im-in-louisville-right-now-and-the-louisville-purge-may-actually-be-happening/
Love my state. This is why we say Louisville belongs to Indiana. Listening to the police scanners it seems pretty much like a normal city night crime wise.
Nah, if Louisville was in Indiana it would be full of old weird people and inbreeds. Middletown and the Highlands are fine areas. As long as you don't go to the west end, that's where all the crime happens.
The general consensus of tonight so far is either people saying "nah everything is fine it's all quiet" or "OH SHIT EVERYTHING HAS GONE TO PISS WE'RE GONNA DIE BOARD YOUR WINDOWS AND DOORS THEY'RE GONNA CHOP YOU UP PRAY FOR ME AND MY DOG".
This is real. I was listening to the live radio, and ohoho.. the things I fucking heard.
"Five armed men, black, wearing masks -- assault rifles."
"White male in blue t-shirt, carrying long machete and hammer."
"Handicapped in wheelchair hit-and-ran by vehicle."
what the actual fucking fuck
So apparently /b/ caught wind of the whole situation and they're doing things they normally do, making fake calls and shit. So take everything you hear with a plate of salt.
[editline]15th August 2014[/editline]
So the reports of the assault rifles and machetes were from /b/, go figure.
but these are sightings by police, not calls
they have a woman that was a victim of a chain lashing or something right now and then the police are watching several individuals with suspicious activity etc
lmao i go to uofl and this is more of an excuse to make facebook statuses about not pushing your chair in after dinner and the like than anything
I hope they release a total number of arrests tomorrow. I wanna see how many fuckos did this.

Where do you live in Louisville? Gunfire happens often in the west end, this isn't abnormal. I just got back from walking to the gas station for some snacks and absolutely nothing was going on.
i don't live in loui, i'm just listening very closely to the scanner and have heard from some others that shit's going down
Wait, people took this seriously? Jesus Christ...
...If you're going to use a movie as an inspiration for criminal activity, at least use a good movie as inspiration.
i don't live in loui, i'm just listening very closely to the scanner and have heard from some others that shit's going down
Other than the false claims and a few stupid kids, it's been a normal Friday night. Nobody is running around with assault rifles and machetes.
Louisville facepunch meet up.
