Sure, he beat her up, sure, he makes shitty music, but think of all the punishing everyone's given him. He probably deserves a rest now.
He acted like he never did it, and appeared on tv shows and at public events with the same attitude of "nothing like that ever happened". I'd say he asked for all of this without even saying anything.
obviously she was asking for it
I can now see why they both appeal to the Spouse beating and teen pregnancy demographic.
Aren't all rap songs these days self worship though?
Fix'd it for ya
Just because it happened a bit ago still doesn't make it right nor should he be forgiven for it.
He should be forgiven for it because he's trying to make it better. For fuck's sake, one of the few people rehabilitated in prison and you're saying, 'lol nope'
He should be forgiven for it because he's trying to make it better. For fuck's sake, one of the few people rehabilitated in prison and you're saying, 'lol nope'
in this case, prison = 6 months of community service, 5 years probation and one year of domestic violence counselling
Sure, he beat her up, sure, he makes shitty music, but think of all the punishing everyone's given him. He probably deserves a rest now.
He didn't give Rihanna a rest when he pounded the shit out of her face.
When Chris Brown is/manages to get to age 58 people are still going to be riding him for this. Seriously, he can go to rehab or whatever. I don't even like the guy but everyone's overreacting Get off him
This is pretty much what happens when you become rich and famous. It's a double edged sword. On one hand you pretty much have an actual get out of jail free card, and on the other hand you have people who will hate you forever.
Not like I need an excuse to not throw away $10 on his shitty music.

I don't even like the guy but everyone's overreacting Get off him
nah, I really don't think anyone needs to "get off him". If anything, people have "gotten off him" enough; domestic violence is a huge fucking plague on modern society that isn't taken anywhere seriously enough; and attitudes like this that a high profile celebrity should be "forgiven" for his conduct like this is ridiculous. you're not asking for forgiveness, you're asking for forgetfulness. he hasn't done shit to atone for this. i'll forgive him when he starts a widespread anti-domestic violence campaign. until then? fuck him [editline]15th September 2012[/editline] i'm talking more than a "visit victims" i'm talking nationwide big shit

It just seems completely insincere. Good on him if he were to do that, but he was a tool before he beat Rihanna, and he'll continue to be a tool afterwards. Albeit a slightly more charitable tool.

For Christ's sake, its a massive issue no one wants to touch because of this. You're basically saying, 'You're trying to make things better? Oh well, its not how I want you to make things better so FUCK YOU.'
I fucking love this!
Wow guys get off him. He can't even have a tattoo without people riding him.
I don't know how much thought Chris has actually put into the whole beating Rihanna thing that he did, but I have a feeling it wasn't a whole lot if he legitimately believed that the tattoo on his neck was a good idea.
Get off him
everyone's already gotten off of him, his career wasn't hurt at all
When you're pretty much known for beating women and then a few years later you get a tattoo of a beaten woman, that refreshes everyone's mind on the situation. Nice little marketing plan, but not the best of ideas.
Aren't half the rap songs these days self worship though?
listen to rap that isnt on the radio and come back
If anything, this will give him better sales
People do stupid shit but to only get a few hours community service and then calling the debt clear is just lunacy and then he goes around acting like a tough guy breaking windows and starting fights in night clubs which hurt quite a few innocent bystanders. He's a real reformed character and deserves all the extra millions he makes every year from his boosted popularity.
He didn't start a fight, Drake did in a petty attempt to rile him up and then started that whole throwing bottles bullshit. I honestly think people need to get over this shit. She was hitting him repeatedly while he was driving, putting not only both of them in danger, but anyone else on the damn road. Rihanna was acting like a stupid cunt and Chris Brown reacted in an even stupider way too. To blame just him is idiotic because they both contributed to their situation. Really, he's going to have to deal with this shit his whole life, there's no point in attempting to add to the wound, though I doubt he'd care what a bunch of people on a forum would think.
listen to rap that isnt on the radio and come back
Exactly. And he isn't even a rapper, he's a R&B singer. Rap that's on the radio is pretty much party songs put on there to entice listeners while they drive, mainly because people don't want to listen to some serious shit while they do so.
Ohohohohoho, so its basically mock him, defame him and tear him apart even though he actually did his time and then some? Oh well, its not how I want you to make things better so FUCK YOU.'
he didn't "do his time." his career wasn't hurt, he didn't serve 2.5 years in prison. that's the thing. he didn't face any severe punishment beyond what we're giving him. and that's a problem. it's not a massive issue no one wants to touch because of the consequences, it's a massive issue because the consequences, sentencing, and enforcement aren't strong enough. our law enforcement regarding violence against women is embarrassing.
On the argument of rap, it's not even rap anymore. It's just a bunch of fucking noise.
what's the difference between a man beating a woman and a man beating a man
Because women are delicate little flowers who wouldn't harm a fly.
no, death grips is noise awesome noise [editline]15th September 2012[/editline]
On the argument of rap, it's not even rap anymore. It's just a bunch of fucking noise.

beating Rihanna into a bloody pulp in 2009 as the pair were en route to the Grammy Awards.
why
He should be forgiven for it because he's trying to make it better. For fuck's sake, one of the few people rehabilitated in prison and you're saying, 'lol nope'
If someone physically abuses a spouse their career should be over. That's that.
If anything, this will give him better sales
the painful truth is that this album has increased sales despite being completely panned by humanity.
On the argument of rap, it's not even rap anymore. It's just a bunch of fucking noise.
Are you serious? This entire album is an instant classic and a piece of art. You can't call that shit noise. And it only came out, what, a month ago?
why
It was an argument over a three page text Chris Brown received from an ex. Rihanna apparently read it, which somehow prompted Mr. Brown to beat the living shit out of her, attempting to shove her out of the car even though she was wearing a seatbelt. He then drove all the way to the Grammies while beating the shit out of her with his right hand, steering with his left. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/file/lapd-details-rihanna-beating?page=3 It's pretty fucked up.
