because it is their body
It's their child, and after the pregnancy it will be a separate being from her.
a man is responsible in that he fucked and came in a woman. that's where his involvement stops. under your system, aborting a fetus because it is the result of rape or incest would be a double standard. after all, he should have a say as well
I worded it incorrectly, I meant to say the female.
Corrected.
It's just that I don't feel that the men should have to pay child support if it was an accidental pregnancy, which they do.

if that's how you feel, don't have sex with women. you can't run away from your responsibility to provide for a child which wouldn't have been born without your involvement

Except rape is different from consensual sex.
Mr. Smartass is using a situation where the woman lied and didn't do her part to prevent a pregnancy when the man did. If she hadn't had lied and took the pill or told the truth, there would be no pregnancy.

coulda been shoulda been isn't going to make the baby go away

And yet women can run away from the responsibility while men cannot. If the man doesn't want it, tough shit; If the woman doesn't want it, she can put it up for adoption or get an abortion.
That's where the problem is.
And yet women can run away from the responsibility while men cannot

women aren't responsible for you fermenting their eggs
women aren't responsible for you fermenting their eggs
If it was an unintended pregnancy, then nobody is
But yet men are still fucked over in the end if they don't want it
edit;
And actually if it wasn't rape then they're totally responsible
If it was an unintended pregnancy, then nobody is
it's a risk that you take any time you have sex
it's a risk that you take any time you have sex
You're totally right
For men, that is. Not for women.
coulda been shoulda been isn't going to make the baby go away
Well how about I put to play an untouched factor of Smartass's small passage.
Lying to someone in any way to get sex is considered a form of rape in a number of nations, correct? And if this woman hadn't lied about using birth control, the sex wouldn't have happened and the pregnancy wouldn't have happened either. Though she did, and so the father is a rape victim.
He was raped, he didn't get to have a say about the existence of the child, he should have every right to deny its existence or not have any legal ties to it.

Hey, the guy was the one who knocked her up. Doesn't matter if it's unintended or not, he made that choice. If you can't handle the possible chance of having a kid, don't go around sticking your dick into things

Kay.
Kay.
I meant the pregnancy. Doesn't matter if you were sure you weren't going to impregnate someone, it's still the risk you take.

Seeing as both people are consenting, it's both their responsibilities equally.
And seeing as we're talking about accidental pregnancies and unwanted children, it WASN'T a choice.

Yes, it's the risk that both the male and the female take together- but what happens afterward is all up to the female, regardless of whether it fucks over the male or not.

You make a good point.
I'm not prepared to engage in debates at one in the morning, I apologize.

congratulations you have argued for 2 pages a situation which affects an average of no one ever
oh no men have one disadvantage (ever) we should have rights over women's bodies that's the only solution

More so an equal say over the existence of our offspring, a child belongs to both parents, not just the fucking mother because "it's her body". I'd say that a woman should have a say over the state of their partner's fertility, too, if that was more fair.
Equality is more important than bodily rights to me.

Men have more disadvantages than that(Even though you don't care to admit it), and how can you possibly say that when literally half the parents in America have some sort of child support agreement?

I don't think I can agree with you on that one, the one that chooses if the child is aborted or not should be the mother as childbirth can be dangerous and very traumatic on the body- however, the father shouldn't be held liable if she doesn't want to abort and he doesn't want the child.
Jesus. . .
Beating up [del]women[/del] [del]men[/del] people is wrong.
Oh, hey, I heard this one thing where people were putting snarky stickers on Chris Brown CD's. Anybody hear anything about that?
Of all the stickers to put on CDs they do this?
I'd put these on the Justin Beiber and One Direction CDs
Because abusing spouses is fucking terrible?
Like, it's a bad thing.
Ok, but what does it have to do with career?
If the abuser got punished and regrets what they've done I see nothing wrong with them continuing their career.

damn what a subversive post
Rhianna's IQ is 95! Who can beat her?
Chris Brown: "I DID! :3"
It would be funny if they just left the stickers on there.
i heard it's a shitty album regardless

because he pretended like it didn't happen? the best way to handle a fuck-up is to admit you fucked up.
best example? sony at e3. first thing they addressed on stage was the large-scale hacking of their database.
not to mention the fact that this isn't everything he's done. he's a fucking psychopath who's only slid by because he has a record label. if he was an indie music-maker this guy would've never had a career
He looks like a crackhead.
He looks like he got hit upside the head with the members of eiffel 62

But SigmaLambda wasn't talking about Chris Brown in particular.
If someone physically abuses a spouse their career should be over.
That's that.
That's why I don't understand. Maybe Brown is an asshole as well as a shitty musician and doesn't deserve to pursue his career but you can't generalise like that.
I want to agree, but seriously domestic violence isn't just something you get over in your career
i mean
just look at chris brown
10 winners? Seriously? Chris Brown's character has clearly not influenced his music; labeling him like this on something entirely unrelated is beyond silly (not to say that beating women is okay, but it's not relevant).
Lord, I hate Chris Brown as much as the rest of you, but don't we also idolize John Lennon, a known wife-beater, for his music and character? You don't see "Imagine" albums covered with stickers saying "this man has a troubled personal life, therefore don't listen to his music", and you're not saying you support what he did by buying his music.
Chris Brown is a cunt and speak for yourself, I don't fucking idolise John lennon but if he beat women then fuck him too.
