Facebook Working on Incorporating the Hashtag #yolo #swag #420erryday

Just when you think Facebook can't get any worse... Think again.

Facebook is testing whether to follow Twitter's lead and allow users to click on a hashtag to pull up all posts about similar topics or events so it can quickly index conversations around trending topics and build those conversations up, giving users more reason to stay logged in and see more ads. Instagram, which Facebook acquired last year, already uses hashtags, allowing users to sort photos by the symbol.

Personally not a fan of it

I don't have a problem with this, the hashtag is a neat tool that can be really useful
if you're gonna complain
e.g. "but what about all the kiddies that think they're hot shit for including "#LIKEABOSS #SWAGGER in their facebook status?"
That's not a valid reason to completely remove a useful tool. They'll find a way to be stupid anyway.

Facebook has millions of shitty users, they're going to do it anyways, just deal with it.
People are already doing it ... Sometimes I do wonder how dumb the people on my friends list are ...

Useful? How? I don't see any way in which hastags are useful beyond collating a large amount of stupid tweets(And soon FB posts) in a short amount of time.
Using hashtags beyond twitter is just dumb imo

I guess some people use them to add extra meaning or clarify their emotions.
Or I guess that's a bit too complex for most users.
its a pound sign not a hashbrown tag
its a pound sign not a hashbrown tag
£yolo?
you guys just cant handle the swag #yolo #420
Uh, some sort of good can come from it, like for content aggregating pages.. and attenction whoring ofc.

I ridicule your stupendous imbecility. #swaggergasted
its a pound sign not a hashbrown tag
it's an octothorpe ok
Too many people use hashtags like fucking candy already. Guess there is no stopping it. It feels so stupid to bitch about such a small thing, but it just really gets annoying when there is no reason for it, unlike on twitter itself, and it manages to look a bit dumb.
I never understood the hate for Yolo and swag. They're words, acting all condescending and unapproving whenever someone uses them just make you look like those crotchety old people who want to ban games and stuff
what difference would it make, people already use hashtags on facebook for some dumbfuck reason
People use it in my school, and I've gotten over getting annoyed by it, so seeing it on Facebook probably won't annoy me
you guys need to sort out your priorities if hashtags on fb seriously gets you upset
yolo is such a stupid word, its meaning is so controversial: since you "only live once", you should be more careful and try not to throw into a pit your entire excistence.
The only hashtag I ever use on anything is #yolo and even then I parody it to mean "You only link once" and use it in any posts or tweets I make relating to MYST or MYST Online: Uru: Live Again.
"Hey guys, going to check out Ae'gura #yolo"
I'm a fan, I think this would be useful.
£yolo?
That's the pound sterling symbol

Oh geez, sorry dad.
People will do what they want to do, get over it. Maybe a person likes to go out and party, so what? To them, life isn't worth living if you're not doing something. Can you really claim you had a better life than someone who died doing something fun, while you stayed at home every night?
No, of course you can't, because you can't compare lives and whether someone lived a "better" life. Live and let live.
I mean it has a purpose. It's for connecting you to other people talking about the same thing... on a social networking site...
Yo what the fuck, so because the title uses only yolo and swag etc you guys think it's bad? So typical. This is just like a tagging feature, it lets people search for certain types of content being posted all over FB, that'll be awesome. Bandwagon as fuck.

for grouping tweets
So if I was talking about the pope, I'd use the hashtag #pope. Then I could see everyone else who was talking about the pope.
