oh yeah boy? what about your garry games huh? DID YOU THINK THAT WAY ABOUT YOURSELF WHEN YOU SHOT KLEINER!? HE HAD A FAMILY YOU BITCH
It was accidental and from drunk driving, not cold-blooded murder.
Ruining someone's life and locking them up in jail for the rest of it for an accident won't avenge anyone.
Wasn't drunk driving.
The bitch was driving, said to the person in the passenger seat "HEY I NEED TO TAKE MY SWEATER OFF, TAKE THE WHEEL" and proceeded to take her sweater off in which they crashed the fucking car.
WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN.
Well, at least what matters is that they are in jail, I don't care how many years.
I liked Company of Heroes. :unsmith:

Calm the fuck down, it was a drunk driver, their judgement gets clouded.
This is the argument that royally pisses me off.
Being inebriated gets you off the fucking hook? Are you insane? If it was meth I'm sure this guy had gotten life, but because it's a socially acceptable substance then he gets a lesser sentence?
I doubt you have any understanding of this subject.
people justify the actions of people under the influence of drugs by claiming they're the victim of an addiction, and not the people that were killed as a result of it.
that girl chose to get shitfaced, and she chose to drive too, the three people who died brutally and painfully in a car crash did not.
what if three innocent white teenage girls died as a result of some drunk redneck in a big pickup truck?
god knows facepunch would be calling their congresspeople trying to get the guy hung, but as long as its just a drunk chick it's an outrage.
so going to prison for 8 years is too much punishment for taking the lives of 3 innocent people in the prime of their lives?
yeah, poor her, i cant believe she has to actually face consequences for killing 3 people
8 years is a lot, more than you could comprehend.
People get run over every day. There isn't anything special about this case.
I'll say the same when you die in a car crash.
Three kills, eight years, that's fairly lenient.
And the same sentence was given to a guy with a blow up doll.

longer than he's been alive i can imagine

you do realize how long 8 years is right...
thats a long damn time. just imagine yourself living an entire one of your lifespans so far in a prison.

Ok, let's do a quick comparison
8 years for someone who killed 3 people
vs.
3 lives lost, 3 families that are torn apart by the deaths of a loved one, who will never return, not in 8 years, or 10, or 20, NEVER.
So yes. Eight years is a little low for someone who killed 3 people.
Oh, and just because it was an "accident" doesn't change anything in this case. It wasn't just a tragic mishap, it was a case of an extremely irresponsible pair of women, driving drunk, and possibly even on heroin. And then add to all of that, she was taking her sweater off, effectively blinding herself and losing entire control of the car. I'm pretty sure they teach you in Driver's Ed not to do shit like that, there is no excuse. It's not just an accident, it was reckless and irresponsible and it took the lives of good people.
it's funny how you just try to tally crimes up to par with the exact number of years required. just drop em in jail, i don't care how much
evry1's a number

It doesn't matter if the victims had a family or not, all people are equal under the law. You should receive the same punishment regardless if you killed a drunk guy sleeping on the street or the fucking president.
In the process of having a trial, the court doesn't merely look at what has happened, but also at the intentions of the perpetrator. Did these drunk people drive with the intention to kill other people? No, therefore this accident (yes, it was an accident) shouldn't be classified as a murder.

If I'm drunk as a skunk wandering around the streets trying to shoot trashcans and some guy happens to get in the crossfire, and let's say it's a magic bullet, and goes through him his pregnant wife's leg, and two of his friends and kills him and the two friends what's going to happen to me?
I'm going to jail for life possibly death row. Because it would be considered manslaughter possibly murder charges despite me being impaired with no intention to kill anyone but some dirty trashcans.
Driving a car on the highway at high speeds while you're heavily intoxicated, possibly on drugs, and both constricting your arms and blinding yourself while doing all of this is not an innocent accident. Is it murder worthy? No, but it shouldn't be 4 years with good behavior either.

That's not even remotely the same.

People are too obsessed with the lenght of punishments. If you get out after four years it's fine as long as you are fully rehabilitated.

This is my view.
Personally, I feel 25 years is sufficient punishment but with extensive and demanding rehabilitation programs allowing early parole. Including a fairly lengthy community reintegration program.

I mean, obviously that the woman had substance abuse problems is a mitigating factor, and arguably without that, the crimes wouldn't have happened.
For me, it comes down to whether you want to destroy an additional life.
My instant-reaction is 'send woman to eternal hellfire!', but I've become somewhat more objective on the matter.
Ruining someone's life and locking them up in jail for the rest of it for an accident won't avenge anyone.
If it had been a man who did it instead of two chicks, betcha the sentence would have been WAY harsher...
