I think even with Trump as president, he won't be able to make any unconstitutional laws like laws discriminating the LGBT, blacks, Muslims, or such. We have checks and balances and separation of powers to ensure that any Unamerican laws Trump will try to push will not be ratified.
This bullshit again. The Constitution doesn't just exist as this all-powerful being, it gets interpreted by SCOTUS. Trump will stack SCOTUS. There's one seat ready for someone who'll reverse gay marriage, and probably 2-3 more along the way for him to fill. Those seats don't get changed once they're filled. They exist for life. As in, after Trump is gone. Long after he's gone. Even if Bernie gets elected or something, he's gonna have to deal with a Trump SCOTUS who is not accountable to the electorate nor anyone else in the US. If SCOTUS fucks us, we're doomed. And we just handed the invitations to someone with no political experience whose entire campaign basically revolved around being homophobic, sexist, racist, xenophobic, and the subject of a meme frog. Congrats, you did it America.
This really just confirms my suspicions that everyone around me is a fucking moron.
I said it in the last thread and I'll say it again. The Democratic Party needs to be completely and utterly purged.
I'm not paying attention to the polling directly, just how much of a gap is there for everyone to act like Trump is absolutely assured at this point?
It was never unthinkable. People who thought it was were just deluding themselves. The next and most important question is where do we go from here? If he wins, how do we react to it? We've got a tangerine buffoon and his religious right-wing running mate in office... what do we do? Do we lay down and accept it, or do we resist in as many ways as possible? I'm hoping people won't just become passive about this and will make an effort to resist. This is the worst outcome imaginable for the United States-- socially and politically, economically, and internationally-- and it should absolute be fought against to the death. A reckoning is inevitable at this rate.
Political resistance is the only option and as fiercely as can be managed, but Trump still has the senate in his pocket and will rule pretty much unopposed in terms of shitty policy for four years.
Ronald Reagan was a movie star back then.
Yeah but he also served as governor beforehand
Ronald Reagan was a movie star back then.
And boy oh boy was Reagan a good idea
Please let this be the end of the overwhelming use of political correctness to demonize everything that doesn't fit world views of the toxic side of the left.

Trump-appointed Supreme Court justices?
They actually did it, the absolute madmen
we are neck and neck with Pennsylvania
Curious, what caused Penn to turn red?
Amen, amen, amen. Clinton should've focused harder on party unity.
It's not just Clinton, it's the rabid supporters screeching about her being the "Shade Queen", demonizing conservatives, and constantly and openly antagonizing people and flagrantly refusing to listen to anyone but themselves in their circlejerk and being impervious to the idea of her listening. I voted Clinton, but I sure as shit didn't want to. The number of my friends and ex-college friends railing on me and other people for not openly condemning undecided and conservative people was honestly astonishing.
