Hey guys, you know what'd be great? If we could all put aside our differemces, stop bickering, and look at the big picture here: politics in this country seems fucked because we as a people can't accept a middleground between two extremes, and we as a people aren't holding the higher-ups accountable for their bullshit.
We shouldn't be antagonizing people for exercising their freedom to vote, we should be antagonizing the media and other outlets for not pushing non-clickbait information out into the open.
Yeah yeah, we've had headlines, Trump University, Clinton's Emails, and all that other shit, but where the fuck are the articles comapring and contrasting their views? Where are the tweets and shit that chronicle information for the malinformed?
We live in a world where the I feel a good chunk of masses are too lazy or don't have the time to do extensive research not just on presidential candidates, but the even Congress or State level shit.
I think that if changes are to be made, people are goingbto have to start small.
Vote for your County representative. Vote for your district representative. I feel like the majority of people out there, especially the younger generations), don't give a shit about elections outside of Presidential elections, and that's how we got into this situation.
(Note, I may be sleepily pulling a majority of this out of my ass, but it's just the way it feels like)
I mean in all seriousness there's still going to be an america in four years and all that, I just cannot understand why people would vote for trump. If it were Clinton vs Romney or some other pick and Romney inevitably won, I'd be asleep right now because, even though I don't like most of the other republican candidates' policies, I'd at least know what they reasonably are.
Trumps platform, with all the compulsive lying, seems to beg me to presume the worst case scenario.
This is an echo chamber because we are all sane and can recognize what Trump and his campaign and the GOP stand for, and thus what legitimate threats the American people face
Anyone who disagrees with me is in an echo chamber.
Or maybe every social group is an echo chamber and we just don't realize it if we're the ones having our opinions echo'ed.
Oh stop bullshiting. SH was an huge anti-trump circlejerk. Anybody even seemingly sounding like he may not be with hillary was accused of being whatever label of the week the media has been using.
So that means you guys have no voice? How about respond to the numerous arguments that were meticulously laid out? No?
That's what a year of trump supporters was. Ignoring arguments and focusing on surface bullshit like you're doing now
Hey guys, you know what'd be great? I wouldn't call Hillary extreme at ALL in a left-wing sense. I would say shes like Trump in many aspects.
Or better, impeached.
I have no love for trump but god damn, hillary was unelectable.
Trump leaving office would like a sociopathic homophobic idiot who actively tries to fuck over the lgbt community into the oval office.
I hope that by divine intervention both of them just fucking get heart attacks.
I wouldn't call Hillary extreme at ALL in a left-wing sense. I would say shes like Trump in many aspects.
My main point is people are partisan. People are all "You're either eith me, or you're against me"
Oh stop bullshiting. SH was an huge anti-trump circlejerk. Anybody even seemingly sounding like he may not be with hillary was accused of being whatever label of the week the media has been using.
An echochamber would be if people were banned for having the wrong opinions. Just because one side of an argument cannot make good points doesn't mean that the forum is an echochamber.
A circlejerk isn't the same as an echochamber, imo a circlejerk is fine if it's justified, it just gets boring after a while.
I just don't know how anyone in their right mind can look at this situation and say it won't turn out the way Trump's platform was built off of.
Like, what? How does that make any sense? It boggles my mind, almost as much as the idea that Trump is our president-elect
How is the peoples champion against the globalist elite the real estate mogul who piggybacked on daddies success, stiffed his workers, and gave thousands of dollars to the Democrats when it was politically expedient?
Didn't those policies come into place under bush?
Does it even matter? It's like you're saying "everyone is evil and things are totally unfixable and yet one side is still better than the other".
If you think things are so terrible then why do you even bother?
Its not unfixable, I said the people are not willing to fix it. But seeing how unpopular trump is that could change.
The united states has been stagnated for decades. The government has been bullshiting around and wasting trillions of our tax money. While everybody gets poorer and the rich gets richer and buys out our politicans. All it take is some douche fake smiling saying he is going to fix everything and boom he gets elected. Then he just do whatever lobbyists bribe oh i mean donated them to do.
My main point is people are partisan. People are all "You're either eith me, or you're against me"
Everybody is like that, it's a de facto part of human nature. People really should argue passionately about things they agree with and against those who they disagree with, that's how you have a healthy discourse. It's anti-intellectualism and bad methodologies that are the problem.

More relevant to SH, if there are no points being made at all it will logically look like an echo chamber. There were weeks at a time where pro-Trump posters couldn't be found because only bad news was coming out of the campaign.
I want to get off 2016's wild ride
I just don't know how anyone in their right mind can look at this situation and say it won't turn out the way Trump's platform was built off of.

I guess it mostly comes down to who you're least disgusted by this election season, and for a lot of people that's trump. I don't understand why, and I'm not sure I'll ever understand why, but at least i figure this whole debacle has pushed me more towards actual political activism.
That's a good point. There is nothing you could do if Trump appoints his judges. Although the second amendment people, maybe there is. I dunno.
Even if i know trump said that and i share your outrage it should not be ok to call for violence. This is the time to be the better person trump isnt and get back to reality out of the hillary "shillosphere".
Its not unfixable, I said the people are not willing to fix it. But seeing how unpopular trump is that could change.

Okay how do we fix it.
I've asked this question to a lot of "both sides are fucked (but the democrats are fucked more don't call me a trump supporter tho :^) )"folks but never got an answer.
Everybody is like that, it's a de facto part of human nature. Eh, my thing is that people don't understand that you always have to be hard against people, or you always have to win the battle without compromise.
Instead, we either gotta have a total victory, or we get nothing done at all, and that's why I feel we're partially fucked.
i'm completely with HumanAbyss here, for the whole campaign trail there was only a handful of Trump posters even trying (trying being the operative word) to defend Trump's platform
now that it's over suddenly the rest have put on their big boy pants and spoken up
I wonder how many american expats we'll have 4 years from now.
Even if i know trump said that and i share your outrage it should not be ok to call for violence. This is the time to be the better person trump isnt and get back to reality out of the hillary "shillosphere".
Convenient that the shillosphere and reality happen to align so often. I think I'll stay.
Also um i was clearly talking about the second amendment people voting for the Democrat contender in 2020 please don't be like the rigged media and take it out of context thanks.

Change is gradual and incremental, you don't see it overnight and you certainly won't see it through partisan news sources that serve no purpose except to sling mud at the opposing 'side'.
Gradual change HAS been happening, you just need to look for it in the right places. From what you've been saying, it sounds like you've been paying too much attention to partisan news sources and listening to the mud slinging. Doing that leads to the sense that nothing is happening.
Disconnect from the 24/hr news feeds of garbadge partisan news that just lies to you anyway and instead follow something like this.
From all of our objective measurements like the UN's human rights index, we are actually living in the best time in human history, but if you ask people what they feel it's almost as if we're living in the worst time in history. It's the media's fault. Sensationalizing the mud slinging, doomsaying, gloring school shooters, doing everything they can to put people into a constant state of fear so that they'll continue to stay inside and watch the news. It's bullshit.
Dude, calm down. Your rights should be protected if you stand up for it, not leave it. Let out your opinions towards the government, have the LGBT movement come together to protect your rights. I, a Republican, and many others will try to help you and your community.
Thank you, I really appreciate any support we can get. I don't want to leave but I feel like my advocacy means very little in the face of the extremely socially-conservative community I live in. I feel like I would be in legitimate danger for even coming out publicly.
How is the peoples champion against the globalist elite the real estate mogul who piggybacked on daddies success, stiffed his workers, and gave thousands of dollars to the Democrats when it was politically expedient?
Because hillary did not want to offend her backers to get the vote.
A vague but believable promise to fix money out of politics would have given her victory... She could not do it.
So that means you guys have no voice? How about respond to the numerous arguments that were meticulously laid out? No?

Surface bullshit lol like hillary clinton being immuned to being criminally charged isnt something to worry about.
In my home country in the middle east you will see how quick things go bad when you let somebody that elected.
Oh stop bullshiting. SH was an huge anti-trump circlejerk. Anybody even seemingly sounding like he may not be with hillary was accused of being whatever label of the week the media has been using.
I've talked to many a Trump supporter over the last year on this forum. Like, the majority of my posts. I've talked to a literal anarcho-capitalist. I've talked to actual socialists.
This isn't an echo-chamber at all. The reason you think it's echoing is because like half the Trump supporters got banned for trolling and flaming instead of making rational, reasonable points in a discussion. Myself and a number of other people on this forum, like Raidyr and HumanAbyss, have been asking the same questions for literal months to a core group of Trump supporters. Not one has managed to give us a rational answer.
The reason Trump supporters think it's echoing in here isn't because it's an echo chamber, it's because they have so little brain in their skull that the sound waves can bounce around inside their head.
Because hillary did not want to offend her backers to get the vote.

If people weren't willing to believe she would work against the influence of the Citizens United ruling, the ruling that contributed to her losing in 2008, then nothing she could promise would have been sufficiently believable.
Ahh... American democracy... The only political system in the world where a nation-wide popularity contest ends with the two least popular people rising to the top.
Rest in peace, America. I might just be the least patriotic Australian in the world sometimes, but I gotta say, I am glad I'm not over there right now. As a bi guy myself, Trump fucking terrifies me on a pretty deep level. And I don't know how I'd handle it if I lived over there.
At least I'll be safe for the requisite 5 years it takes the Australian government to blindly follow everything America does. After that, i guess I'll have to move to Canada, or Scotland, or Space...
Sure. Being beaten into the fucking ground, face first, and not wanting it happen again is "not being nice enough". Ey man, don't be so rude to those white-robe ghost guys, they're just burning some fire wood. Why you're getting so defensive about it?
Well considering how well being outright dismissive when not being outright hostile has worked out, you might want to give it a try.
Or don't. Let trump, or someone just like him, win again.
Surface bullshit lol like hillary clinton being immuned to being criminally charged isnt something to worry about.

Again, it's bullshit.
Clinton is not secretly manipulating the FBI like some kind of illuminati plot, and Trump isn't mega ultra hitler.
They didn't indict her of anything because she didn't do anything wrong, that doesn't stop her from being a regular-old corporate career politican, which is bad enough already.
You've bought into the mainstream narrative of both 'sides' of the people who want to make money from manipulating you and selling you shit.
Gun rights are not human rights.
You can keep chanting this all you want but all it does is make you look like an idiot, especially with so many people supposedly facing right-wing death squads tomorrow. Case in point:
Fuck my life how am I even going to face tomorrow. I don't want to go to sleep because I'm waking up to this reality. Over 50% of my country voted for government who is against me as a person.
For one you could try calming down and stop driving yourself silly with hysteria. Two, stop taking everything so fucking personally, the United States didn't elect Trump because you like penises.
What do we even do? Where do we go? I'm not sure what I can afford and that terrifies me. I sympathize with those people who feel like suicide is an answer because honestly I'm seriously considering the same. I don't want to live in this country anymore. Its people are terrifying.
When people say homosexuality is a mental illness I'm pretty sure they would use your entire post as evidence for that assertion. Holy shit.
Newsflash: nobody cares. If they didn't care before Trump got voted in they won't care now, you're Alex Jones levels of off your goddamn rocker right now. I don't know how to help you with those self-esteem issues you clearly have but I can remind you to think rationally. What do you expect to happen tomorrow? In a week? Month? Month after that? If you answered anything other than "fucking nothing" you need to stop and go read up when the hand-off from one president to the next happens. If you or anyone else are seriously considering suicide over this then stop what you're doing and go check your happy ass into an asylum because you are not fit for society in your current state. Above all else, stop taking this shit as a personal offense, goddamn it this didn't happen because you were gay but instead because they hated Hillary that much. Actually if the satisfaction polls are any indication the number of that "over 50%" that "views you as less than human" who doesn't feel that way is about 48% or so.
Holy Hanna are you for real right now? Like no shit are you actually going to kill yourself because over half the country hates Hillary Clinton?
Stop posting and go to a hospital. Seriously, right now.
