You can infantine it but that does not change people are paid to convince others to be enthusiastic about candidate X... You arent paid, but the reason you vote for her is because someone got paid to talk to someone... Be it in a video on youtube or a campaign ad, or a flier, or a meme... That convinced you hillary is the candidate for you. That means that the data you get about the candidates is at least partially controlled by the pr cells of the candidates... Hillaries campaign had far better control over what was being said about her, tons of money was poured in to it. Trump is an awful man and made it easy on them... But if he was the nicest person alive people would still talk shit about him based on what they get spoonfed by hillaries pr divisions... Thats what people call the shillosphere, since there is a meme joke going around that hillaries campaign pays people directly to shitpost online, while in effect its far greater then some dumb forum post... You arent even paid for it and yet you spread and live in the shillosphere... Heck you probably voted bernie during the convention... He directly opposed her but then got absorbed by her when she won and here we are.
I voted for fucking hillary because i read Trumps policies on lgbt people and I will do anything to protect my girlfriend and myself. You're deluded as fuck if you think I'm the result of hillarys propaganda. You work in the US embassy and you say embarasing shit like this?
I wonder how much of this was due to the pointless FBI Notice coming out days before the election? Could we have otherwise been looking at a weaker push from Trump, even if he still won?
Honestly at this point it's pointless to speculate in my mind, but perhaps I'm just being bitter over it. I feel a lot of people had a very much "I've got mine" attitude to this whole election and doesn't give a fuck about the effects a Trump presidency will have on minorities, LGBTQ+, Muslims, etc.

Its almost like we shouldnt have let a private organization choose our canditate regardless of contractory views
Holy shit that mightve been the most stupid and insulting thing ive read in my 8 years of facepunch
I wonder how much of this was due to the pointless FBI Notice coming out days before the election? Could we have otherwise been looking at a weaker push from Trump, even if he still won?
Yeah defineitly it took people until the last week of election to choose their canditate. Everybody made on their minds by the time the first debate ended. Most likely beforehand its not like these two had changed at all during election year.
Yup and now are these same guys crying about trump winning when they indirectly helped get elected.
I wonder how much of this was due to the pointless FBI Notice coming out days before the election? Could we have otherwise been looking at a weaker push from Trump, even if he still won?
Eh, unlikely, it's such a polarized vote that I mostly pin it on a polling fuckup because of how unusual Trump's campaign has been. Comey saying "hey we found new emails" and then saying "oh nevermind its chill" really won't make a former Clinton voter jump ship to Trump. It probably didn't have a huge effect. Just a disturbingly bad polling cockup. Trump's unpredictability and his surprisingly high turnout fucked up the predictions.
Is it so impossible that anyone could disagree with you that anyone who does must be paid or brainwashed? Can't you imagine for even a moment how someone could have different life experiences that lead them to a different conclusion than you? Is it that hard to believe that someone could think differently from you without being a simpleton or a mustache twirling villain? Is the world that black and white to you?
I am trans and I grew up in a pretty religious christian family, and I can safely say you're being paranoid.
I'm truly glad that you had an easier time than I did.
Trump taking down LGBT rights will be just as successful as democrats trying to ban guns. The people democratically voted for this. Deal with it.
"The people" can suck a fat cock. I'm not going to interfere with the result but I have zero obligation to endure the result of their decision. If there is a way that my friends and I can bail from this sinking ship we are going to take it.
Blizzerd is in his own world where hillary has mind control and theres a cold war for territory on mars
"Look how cool and edgy i am because i voted third party" lol you're adorable
"Oh I voted hillary because im so sm-omg wtf how come trump won. Why didnt everybody vote for who i want! Wahh" Hey look i can push dumb quotes in your mouth too. Tastes salty?
Yup and now are these same guys crying about trump winning when they indirectly helped get elected. Its almost like we shouldnt have let a private organization choose our canditate regardless of contractory views
'these guys' did not pick the candidates, the majority of people here voted for Sanders. If you aren't going to address the arguments I've made, at least stop making vague generalizations about people you haven't met.
You don't have to be so condensing you know. As far I know, you're in the same boat a I am.
Doesn't matter if I am, I'm handling this in an entirely different way than you or the people freaking the fuck out. What I am is annoyed, people talking about killing themselves over an election have filled me with contempt for a variety of reasons.
And most importantly, I don't think that it's the voters that shoved Trump out into presidency are the ones that are going to be setting policies - it's going to be the conservative elite, who follow an agenda that was previously blocked by a democratic president.
See above. I'm not saying this is entirely what will happen, but don't be surprised if ~gay marriage~ is tossed aside for all the other exciting things Trump will hit us with, such as fucking around with the POTUS twitter account every day.
The religious freedom is non-issue that's been exploited as part of conservative narrative - gay marriage does not impede on anyone's religious rights. We have long since established this.
Non-issue? Did you miss the several motherfucking posts I made about why you Democrats lost this election? Declaring things non-issues is stupid. You know what conservative Christians think of when they see "it doesn't impede on anyone's rights!" and comments like it? That wonderful debacle over a cake maker who was persecuted for religious beliefs and forced to deliver a cake for a wedding or go to prison! Yeah, some fucking non-issue, especially when the entire narrative pushed by people who declare it as such said specifically that sort of shit wouldn't happen. Then you wonder why Trump got elected? Really now. Well it's not fair to say that's the be-all, end-all reason why Trump won, but it is the reason why Christian conservatives voted for him. What's the bigger reason is people are willing to toss LGBT issues out the window 100% in favor of other things, you know, like keeping Hillary out of office.
Did you grow up gay in a massively Christian-conservative community?
Nobody knows my sexual preferences because it's none of their motherfucking business, so it doesn't matter what I answer. I am openly heathen though, so if your point was "do you even know discrimination?????" then yes, I do.
You'd be surprised how heavily life can turn against you and the places you end up mentally when you've been told you're a disgusting piece of sinful detritus all your life.

I don't blame you for your perspective but I can assure you that there are definitely people who care. There are people who care way too much.
A select few people are convinced I fuck dogs in rituals dedicated to Satan, not even exaggerating. Most people avoid the hell out of me just because. If we're to believe the rhetoric that gay marriage is a slippery slope into sinful depravity, I'm on an entirely different level of ostracized. You know how I cope? I literally do not give a flying fuck what anyone thinks of me. I do whatever the hell I want. Why? This is America. I know my rights, I know the law, and I'm armed. I'm not afraid because I learned a long, long time ago that the world is not a friendly place and ultimately the only person I can rely on is myself. Stop taking everything so personally, get a CCW license, don't let people intimidate you.
well this is fucking news to me, do tell.
See: the past two decades. Only gullible idiots believe he just did a complete 180 on his political beliefs literally overnight. Trump may have supported some Republicans but he's been overwhelmingly in favor of his fellow New York Democrats and the shit they shovel, just like his (former?) best buddy Hillary!
Are we talking about the Republican Party or Trump supporters? Because the former absolutely gives a shit about sexual preferences and enshrines it as part of their platform. The latter pretends like they care but ultimately it's a disposable asset.
Both, but sure I'll give you that the Republicans are more interested in the ~sanctity of marriage~ than the average Trump supporter. Not nearly as important as it was five, ten, and especially fifteen years ago.
Which is going to be horrendous for a massive amount of LGBT individuals stranded in historically anti-LGBT states.
Where did I say anything to the contrary?
I'd like to see you try to convince me that a conservative political party that has peddled "traditional marriage values" as a core tenant of their platform for the past decade "doesnt give a shit about my sexual preferences".
You've clearly made up your mind so whatever I say you'll wave off and likely mutter something about the alt-right. This is why you lost.
I dont know what the hell you cam say any of this with a straight face. The majority of states are red. The people living in those states who happen to be lgbt are fucked. But at least we can all live in fucking Minnesota with you, right?
Well to start I'm not a fucking moron and understand political views are part of a large spectrum, so there is that. You said you were disappointed in your fellow Democrats precisely for the reason why most of those states are red. So which is it, every red state is a frothing cesspit of bigotry or people just really didn't want Hillary in office? I smell hypocrisy.
"Oh I voted hillary because im so sm-omg wtf how come trump won. Why didnt everybody vote for who i want! Wahh" Hey look i can push dumb quotes in your mouth too. nvm
just come undone, and the sin will take hold.
29% of self-identifying conservatives support gay marriage compared to 78% of liberals, according to Pew as of 2016. 71% of their voter base doesn't want it. They'll be re-elected. It's a critical part of the party platform. It's written into their 2016 party platform. Here's a direct quote from the 2016 platform: "In Obergefell, five unelected lawyers robbed 330 million Americans of their legitimate constitutional authority to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman." Pardon me for thinking that a fully GOP government isn't going to paint the White House rainbow and throw a drag ball on the steps of Congress.
Seems to me like its pretty fucking relevant and "important" to the Republican party that will be controlling our government to the absolute and its supporters.
The DNC doesn't exist?
So you can't quote an actual post that said what you've put in quotation marks? What are you even arguing about?
