"AK-47 style rifle that shoots .223." Hmm, didn't know AK's fire .223? What a horrible description. Why does the media think every fucking weapon is an AK?
There are m4's modified to fire 9mm. Perhaps he had an AK with a similar conversion. Or the more probable case, consult the journalist's guide to firearms diagram.
So call it an assault rifle, not an AK47.
oh my god who are you to say he didn't have a saiga or molot vepr in .223 civilian aks aren't assault rifles, they're semi automatic
This is also chuckle-worthy...
U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Colorado), who represents Aurora, tells CNN's Fredricka Whitfield that the shooting raises questions about how alleged shooter James Holmes may have gotten his hands on the weapons used in the attack, but that the time is not right to speculate. "Here's a young man who obviously had access to some very high-powered weapons and he hurt a lot of people and it's terrible ... ," Perlmutter said in a telephone interview. "Right now, it's about making sure the people who were shot and are alive get the best medical care possible and that we pray and do our best to console folks who have been hurt by this tragedy."
Apparently these people know nothing about how easy it is to get firearms in this country.
So call it an assault rifle, not an AK47.
It could be an AK47 that was re-chambered for .223. Plus, if they said it was an "AK-47 type weapon", then that means it was probably a Saiga converted to look like an AK-47, and is chambered in .223 Remington. I actually have one, except I had it chambered in the standard 7.62x39.
This is also chuckle-worthy... Apparently these people know nothing about how easy it is to get firearms in this country.
oh my god faze drop it for christ's sake, people are dead, i think there's better things on everyone's mind.
This is also chuckle-worthy... Apparently these people know nothing about how easy it is to get firearms in this country.
I think he was referring to the smoke bombs or whatever. Those can easily be made with household supplies, provided you know how.
Damn, having something like this happen near where you live hits you hard. Just goes to show that something like this could happen anywhere, anytime without any warning...
Damn, having something like this happen near where you live hits you hard. Just goes to show that something like this could happen anywhere, anytime without any warning...
Was anyone you know injured?
Was anyone you know injured?
I don't think so. I'll probably find out through facebook soon enough, though
These guys are coming out of the woodwork now, Repost? MSNBC Profiler wonders if this guy is/was a Trekkie: http://gawker.com/5927731/msnbc-profiler-wonders-if-dark-trekkie+like-person-was-responsible-for-dark-knight-shooting?comment=51142662
Who coud have killed 12 people at a midnight showing of The Dark Knight in Aurora, Colorado? Former FBI profiler Clint Van Zandt, appearing on MSNBC with Chuck Todd, speculates: "is this simply the terrible, terrible collision between some dark Trekkie-like person's fantasy world and reality?"
-Nobody cares to read this post because it makes them facepalm and go HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS KID IS FUCKING STUPID, when really, it wasn't that stupid-

It's certainly rare to find an AK47 in America that isn't going to cost you thousands of dollars.
At least they died watching one of the greatest movies ever. That thought kept crossing my mind last night as I was watching the movie. "If I died right now, it would kind of be perfect".
if only you did die then everything would be perfect
if only you did die then everything would be perfect
You're a sick fuck.
Thanks Ninja for banning him
This is Jack Noir again. You guys are really banning people for having opinions and a sense of humor you disagree with? That doesn't mean I'm trolling just because a mod disagree with my opinion. That's just childish and immature. I genuinely wasn't trolling. I just posted a picture I found and defended my opinion when people insulted me, and I'm the one who gets banned - not the group of people flaming me for having an opinion they don't like? I seriously didn't do anything. You can't just ban people because you don't think they're funny or disagree with them. That's just tyranny. Grow up. I didn't even draw that picture anyway. Geez, you guys take things too seriously. Get some thicker skin. I'm outta here. Bang. (User was permabanned for this post ("It's only a day, so do your ban" - Ninja101))

I don't think the article said anything about it being fully automatic fire. He could have just been pulling the trigger for each shot.

Holy fuck. I was planning on going to the premiere there. I'm so glad I didn't.
Too bad no one in the theater was conceal carrying. It could have prevented this.

Holy shit, no explanation is possibly big enough.
Too bad no one in the theater was conceal carrying. It could have prevented this.
not really, since tear-gas was dispensed, unless they had gasmasks they'd probably miss and/or injure innocents.
I really fucking hate anyone who finds this funny.
not really, since tear-gas was dispensed, unless they had gasmasks they'd probably miss and/or injure innocents.
At least they would have had some percentage of a chance.
not really, since tear-gas was dispensed, unless they had gasmasks they'd probably miss and/or injure innocents.
I'm pretty sure an off duty officer could have handled that.
Man, it must really be awesome to live in the United States, where apparently the odds of being shot while innocently watching a film are increased exponentially.
Just like Norway
After seeing all of these inbred retards posting on CNN's website, I made a comment myself: "Some of you seem to think that shooting in a movie theater is a lot more dangerous than it really is. If a gunman opened fire on people inside of the theater, the panic of bystanders would probably give you enough time to pull out whatever handgun you are concealing. In most states, if you have a Conceal-Carry-License, it means you've taken a several day class and you essentially should know how to operate a firearm in the conditions put forth here. I think a lot of the far left-wing nutjobs posting here need to learn to read a bit better as well because the story clearly claims the gunman was outside of the theater's entrance as opposed to in one of the showings, itself. I am really beginning to doubt your mentality if you think someone else having a gun in the theater would have been a bad thing. You're pretty much saying the people should have absolutely no chance of defending themselves; they should just roll over and die as opposed to at the very least having a chance to fight for their life." [editline]20th July 2012[/editline]
not really, since tear-gas was dispensed, unless they had gasmasks they'd probably miss and/or injure innocents.
Tear gas isn't nearly as effective as you'd think. Any average conceal-carrier would probably have their gun ready by the time the person properly deployed tear gas. I know if I saw a guy walking up to me with several weapons and whatnot, I'd be prepared for the worse.
