I have a hard time imagining that someone who would have had to shut off his emotions to be able to carry out a murder spree on a group of innocent people would have even done so to begin with.
Well killing somebody sounds easy until you're actually confronted with doing so. That is the part that gets to people.

Fuck. I read about this on my way home from the midnight premier last night. I've also read that it is the largest mass shooting in US history, given the fact that 71 people were shot (injured/killed). I feel so fucking horrible now, when I read it my stomach just got cold. How could you do something like that?
He'll realize it eventually. Maybe in a week, or in ten years, but what he did will eventually come back to him, hard
That's wishful thinking at best. Many people who commit a spur of the moment murder feel guilt later because, ultimately, they lost control and had no real desire to kill anyone. But people that plan these things out and spend weeks or months working it out then kill many people and injure many more, they will almost never feel guilt. They've rationalized it and convinced themselves that its a good thing. They may understand they're not supposed to but to them its acceptable. At best they simply don't care and at worst they get joy out. But they'll almost never feel guilt or remorse. He stopped to reload, and brought with him enough ammo to kill every one in the entire theater and every officer that could arrive. He rigged explosives with the intent of killing more people in a flash. It didn't get to him at all.
What is empathy I don't know help???
Thousands of people are killed every day in various ways. A large number of them simply starve to death. For every insane shooting back home, the American military probably kills 1,000 people overseas, but nobody cares. No one cares when unmanned drones bomb a hospital or something. It's just a matter of perspective. If you're shocked and become depressed every time something like this happens, you're going to be one very sad individual. Anyway, that's how I feel about it. Not trying to troll. -- Ironically, Joker from TDK was right though, with his whole speech about chaos to Harvey in the hospital. Everyone loses their minds.
For every insane shooting back home, the American military probably kills 1,000 people overseas, but nobody cares.
I like how you specifically mentioned the American military, as if they were purposefully killing innocents. Oh, and I love Adolf Hitler and I think Stalin was a big humanitarian, but you can't blame me for that cause it's just a matter of perspective.

We do intentionally make decisions that knowingly lead to civilian casualties, and that's not any better. And denying injustices like that, which I see first hand Americans do all the time, are what I think really leads to crazy shit like this shooting.
who the fuck brings a 4 month old infant to a midnight screening of the dark night
who the fuck brings a 4 month old infant to a midnight screening of the dark night
I dunno, when I saw TDK at a midnight opening, a guy had a toddler next to us.

I live in a small town less than 10 miles away from the theatre so I've read a lot of opinions about the whole thing from my friends. >not the shooter's fault I fucking hate people.

Damn.
I can really feel for the victims and their families, and it's really not fair and quite disturbing, but these incidents don't surprise me, and I know it's probably going to happen again. I thought the same thing around the Kathy Gifford shooting, people just aren't meant to live in ultra hostile environments like we create in America, and even after then, things never got better, so... it's bound to happen again, obviously.
I wish the killer had to sit down, and listen to all of the accounts of the children's parents about every detail of their life, their aspirations.
I changed my mind.
Unchange it. Preferably quickly. What I'm trying to say is "Go away."
And everyone bitching at me will have forgotten about this by the end of the next week.
Not likely, but even if we did, there is a difference between feeling remorse and obsessing. Just get the fuck out, we don't want what you're peddling.
And everyone bitching at me will have forgotten about this by the end of the next week.
Of course not. The shooter does not deserve to be remembered by history. Not even his name.
Must we seriously go through the routine "I hope he gets raped" comments?
I'm not saying I'm hoping he's going to get raped. I'm saying he's going to get raped.
This is the first news story in a while that has actually gotten me feeling a bit down. Maybe because it was kids like me who just wanted to see a movie with their friends, so I'm able to make more of a connection. I won't say these type of events don't bother me, but they usually don't have as much an emotional impact as this one did.
Of course not. The shooter does not deserve to be remembered by history. Not even his name.
Not remembered in a favorable light, but rather as Hitler and the Unibomber, as a reminder of how low people can sink and how we must take caution to ensure another poor excuse for a human being doesn't do the same thing again.
we must take caution to ensure another poor excuse for a human being doesn't do the same thing again.
Good luck with that.
Good luck with that.
It's clear you don't care. We get it. You're deep and cool and mature and we're all emotional Americunt faggots. Please leave now.
Good luck with that.
Keep holding back those tears man.
