There's a solution to that: don't launch the rockets.
Nope, if they are going to resist Israeli force they are going to use what they can.
Irrelevant. If the Hamas could kill more they would have. We're only lucky that they only have shit-rockets that can't harm a fly.
Relevant, Hamas was able to kill way more soldiers then civilians even though they do not possess targeting capabilities.
Note that, the UN school in the famous picture, wasn't directly bombed, only the playground nearby it, and there were rockets launched from it. It says so right in the (CNN's or whatever, can't remember) news report.
Also, the WP attack was a warcrime, its illegal to use in civilian areas. I suppose this was to obscure the IDF soldiers right? I'm sick of hearing about this Gaza blockade. Just tear down the fucking wall and see what happens. If they kill each other, well, their fault.
They used them only as an obscurant or an illuminant, not to hit civilians or enemies, which is legal. [editline]02:52PM[/editline] It's not a loophole when they specifically say White Phosphorus isn't included in the illegal weapons list.
ok, soooooooo, that makes it right? [editline]04:38PM[/editline]
Scroll down. Parties only have to agree to two of the protocols. Israel chose not to agree to protocol III. And let me stop you right there. The smoke shells are smoke shells. They air burst for distributing smoke more quickly. They are American made M825A1 smoke shells and they have been around for a long time. And no it isn't good smoke just because of how hot it burns. It produces smoke with unparalleled refractive properties due to the chemical composition of WP.
WP has been used against people in Gaza, utterly charring their whole bodies.
ok, soooooooo, that makes it right?
Look at my previous post. Does it look like an illuminant or obscurant to you?
Hitting civilians doesn't mean they meant to. Do you think Israel wanted all those ~900 civilians dead? No, but it went to war knowing some civilians will die, as is always the case in war. There were two Israeli officers who used WP, not only where they weren't authorized to, but they also used it against civilians illegally. They were sentenced and were brought to justice.
lol, ok, this doesn't really phase you burnemdown? 3(israel)/900+ the war starting over an apartheid wall ummmmm, use your fucking head. hahahahaha, you mean the two officers who got a slap on the wrist? that's your idea of justice "well it was minor, but it WAS justice" lol, here you go again, finding loopholes. you are such an asshole [editline]04:43PM[/editline]
Hey look, these guys wear vests and masks too! Al-Queda, al-shabaab, and Taliban. But surely having training camps makes them not terrorists! Nevermind the headbands saying "there is no god but Allah" and the suicide bombers. Because you have pictures of them in combat gear and in training camps, it doesn't make them a uniformed military. The only thing different about Hamas is that they are surrounded by the idiots who elected them. They elected terrorists, and now they are being attacked as a result. The only thing surprising here is that the entire strip hasn't been burnt to the ground as a direct result of the unbelievable ineptitude and irresponsible attacks of the Hamas government.
Oh how silly of them not to walk around in florescent Green jump suits with "im hamas lol shoot pls" painted in red letters on it

For example they called houses that were about to be bombed, and told the people to leave. They dropped flyers telling when and where are they going to bomb soon, so the people won't get hurt. There were cases where Hamas officers got calls and refused to let their family leave, saying they will all be martyrs.
Where are they going to go, burnemdown? the gaza strip is a walled in city. and there ZERO evidence of Hamas doing that.
Nope, if they are going to resist Israeli force they are going to use what they can. Relevant, Hamas was able to kill way more soldiers then civilians even though they do not possess targeting capabilities.
Resisting by killing civilians who have nothing to do with it isn't moral, legal, right, justified, or whatever one might call it. And those soldiers died at fire-fights. Hamas has enough weaponry in normal and conventional battles, but in terms of attacking a city 7km away, they don't have shit, and if they would, the casualties would surpass even the deaths from suicide bombers. [editline]06:48PM[/editline]
I suppose this was to obscure the IDF soldiers right?
No, this was the school that was illegally attacked by the two IDF officers.
During gun battles they wear that stuff too. It's the point. But generally, the problem isn't the gun battles, its the rest of the time. Why do you think they wear masks? The rest of the time they blend back into the civilian population. Its these same people that blend into the population that step on a bus and turn it into a pile of smoldering scrap metal and human remains. They launch ROCKETS at RANDOM CIVILIAN POPULATION CENTERS. They know full well the rockets themselves won't do much harm. They do it to cause TERROR. Hence TERRORISTS.
I don't think you understand the point of terrorism Al-Qaeda and the Taliban aren't just doing this to be scary. They're essentially a gang They use terror to get people to grow their drugs for them and then they sell them. Simple as that. They use religion as a tool to get people to work for them and they use terror to get people to grow their drugs for them. They intimidate them into doing what they want. the whole point of the afghan war is to give hope to the hopeless, so they're not afraid of the Taliban. No more terror = no more terrorists.

The route inside the West Bank severs communities, people’s access to services, livelihoods and religious and cultural amenities. In addition, plans for the Barrier’s exact route and crossing points through it are often not fully revealed until days before construction commences. This has led to considerable anxiety amongst Palestinians about how their future lives will be impacted...The land between the Barrier and the Green Line constitutes some of the most fertile in the West Bank. It is currently the home for 49,400 West Bank Palestinians living in 38 villages and towns.[41] ” — Introduction UN report Pg4 An often-quoted example of the effects of the barrier is the Palestinian town of Qalqilyah, a city of around 45,000, which is surrounded on all sides by the barrier. One 8 meter-high concrete section of this wall follows the Green Line between the city and the nearby Trans-Israel Highway. This section, referred to as an "anti-sniper wall," has been claimed to prevent gun attacks against Israeli motorists on the Trans-Israel Highway.[42] The city is accessible through a military checkpoint on the main road from the east, and an underground tunnel built in September 2004 on the south side connects Qalqilyah with the adjacent village of Habla. Recently, the Israeli Supreme Court ordered the government to change the route of the barrier in this area to ease movement of Palestinians between Qalqilyah and five surrounding villages. In the same ruling, the court rejected the arguments that the fence must be built only on the Green Line. The ruling cited the topography of the terrain, security considerations, and sections 43 and 52 of The Hague Regulations 1907 and Article 53 of the Fourth Geneva Convention as reasons for this rejection.[1] In early October 2003, the IDF OC Central Command declared the area between the separation barrier in the northern section of the West Bank (Stage 1) and the Green Line a closed military area for an indefinite period of time. New directives stated that every Palestinian over the age of twelve living in the enclaves created in the closed area have to obtain a “permanent resident permit” from the Civil Administration to enable them to continue to live in their homes. In addition to the large areas of particularly fertile Palestinian farmland that have been destroyed, other larger areas have been cut off from the rest of the West Bank by the fence/wall. The fence/wall is not being built between Israel and the Occupied Territories but mostly (close to 90%) inside the West Bank, turning Palestinian towns and villages into isolated enclaves, cutting off communities and families from each other, separating farmers from their land and Palestinians from their places of work, education and health care facilities and other essential services. This in order to facilitate passage between Israel and more than 50 illegal Israeli settlements located in the West Bank.[89]
[/release] And an Israeli Human Rights group at the checkpoint describes the typical daily life for Palestinians.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Palestinian_suicide_attacks OK, so maybe I've exaggerated, but if you look at 2001-2004, there were 219 suicide bombings. On other years there are less, but you can still see that the suicide bombings aren't "rare".
lol, only 40% were Hamas and the PIJ is both pretty radical and disorganised. you exaggerated a LOT
Also, how is the wall slowly killing civilians? (note that I'm talking only about the wall - not the blockade).
well, the whole denying basic supplies thing, constant wars and soaring crime rates... iunno, what do you think burnemdown?
Israeli courts in general give weak punishments
I can understand laxed punishments but that was a fucking war crime, that's different. [editline]05:42PM[/editline]
stuff
I also read a book recently that followed a woman and her child. The child whom the IDF fucking humiliated at a checkpoint in front of about 80 other people free israel!
http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1870087,00.html "That report was later clarified to indicate that the shelling and the fatalities took place outside the school." Hmm, I was sure that it said that there were rockets launched from there too. Still, the school itself wasn't attacked, so it doesn't matter that it didn't harbor any Hamas personnel.
The school was attacked; are you serious?
"the shelling and the fatalities took place outside the school." The school itself wasn't attacked, are you serious? [editline]07:44PM[/editline]
*words*
I was talking about the Gaza wall, not the West Bank barrier.
The school was attacked; are you serious?
"the shelling and the fatalities took place outside the school." The school itself wasn't attacked, are you serious?
They mean the small open area/entrance in front of the school. The school itself was still hit.
"the shelling and the fatalities took place outside the school." The school itself wasn't attacked, are you serious?
They mean the small open area/entrance in front of the school. The school itself was still hit.
But the fatalities only took place outside the school.
The school was attacked; are you serious? "the shelling and the fatalities took place outside the school." The school itself wasn't attacked, are you serious?
so they fucking painted the inside black and added some blood effects and threw everything around?
I was talking about the Gaza wall, not the West Bank barrier.
works the same way tbh [editline]05:47PM[/editline]
But the fatalities only took place outside the school.
does it fucking matter?
But the fatalities only took place outside the school.
What's your point? Grasping for straws again?
So some fires got inside the school, big deal. My point is that the shells were clearly targeted the area outside the school, so the argument that there weren't any Hamas officials inside the school is irrelevant. They probably launched rockets from the playground and then ran, just like they do most of the time.

No. And nope, No Hamas was there.
The shells were targeted at entrance of the school justifies it? No.
It doesn't justify it, but it means that the "no Hamas in the school" thing is invalid.
And nope, No Hamas was there.
Source? And don't bring a "no Hamas was in the school" source, because they're invalid.
