I don't think there will ever be a straight answer. The vast majority of the country and the military was fooled into believing the WMDs existed. Why were they manipulated? I'd buy the oil idea if someone could show how the US has benefited from the oil reserves they supposedly invaded for, or if we got some sort of Pentagon Papers style leak.

As insane as it may seem, reading the wikileaks articles in question leads me to believe this is a possibility. Not a great one, but really, we've seen that the government is corrupt, and capable of terrible things when it needs to do so.
If you haven't noticed the US has made Castro out to be this terrible guy for ages now, I respect what hes saying because he has basically been entirely excluded from much of the world, he can look at it what makes sense without the world spinning it by news corporations. Call me a conspiracy theorist but Castro might be on to something.
