Re-post from another thread, but I think it fits here better:
Here's what GTA VI should be:
SETTING - VICE CITY, but bigger, more expansive, everglades, hillbillies, crocs, swamps, airboats, and of coarse, Vice City itself.
CONTEXT - basically Vice City, but here's the catch - the game's story will be played in two different timelines: in the 80's (80's cars, clothing, tech, music, etc.) and in modern times (modern cars, clothing, tech, music, etc.). When you switch to the different time periods, you see a fast-forward through time as architecture, cars, clothing styles, road-ways, and people change.
The game will also feature multiple characters, connected through the times. An example: in the 80's you play as Character A, but in modern times, you play as Character B who is working with a much older Character A.
With this set-up, you give fans the best of both worlds: time period (80's) set GTA game and a modern day GTA game, set in one of the most favored GTA locations, but with much much more.
I've had this idea in my head for a while now, but haven't expressed it before.
so like gta's driver parallel lines? I'm in
I hope it's in Vice City just so they call it GTA VICE. If not that I want it in a new city. It's too soon for Liberty City again and San Fierro and Las Venturas are too similar to Los Santos, plus it would be nice to keep San Andreas for future games rather than blowing their load on one region right away.
you could easily do a GTA hawaii too i think, and it would make some sense but it lacks much of the memorable scenery and the ability to drive around the map continuously
A young Cuban-American born to parents who escaped the communist takeover of Cuba works his way up the socio-economic ladder in modern day Vice City, working as a young aspiring politician willing to dirty his hands to advance his goals.

Vice City - Check.
Minority main character - Check.
Corruption in politics - Check.
Cartel/mafia - Check.
Do it ROCKSTAR.

a proper san fiero game would be cool, its pretty evident that they are not adding any actual landmass to GTA V. i can still look back on SA and even though the 2 cities weren't fleshed out with as much missions and content as LS was, its still a pretty great map
I just want custom map support with multiplayer ala FiveM.
GTA Russia would be pretty cool
2 star wanted brings T-90s, 3 star brings Mi-24 gunships after you, 4 brings SU-25s, 5/6 star has the police call in nuclear missiles
[editline]30th March 2016[/editline]
tbh 90s Russia would legit be a pretty cool setting, considering 90s Russia pretty much was GTA irl

If they handled it realistically for 2016 Russia when the SWAT teams and FSB come after you it would basically be the same as having the army come after you.
Also all the radio stations would have to play hardbass and all the clothing options would have to be tracksuits.
I don't understand why this is news. Of course they're working on GTA 6, it's not like we're going to see it anytime soon. 2019-2020 is my guess.

I figured that after releasing the highest grossing game in history they would just give up. :v:
Good. Maybe they'll stop updating V and I can finally buy it for PC without having to worry about whether or not the next update is going to break modding(It probably will).
Hoping they put a more co-op oriented multiplayer in
It was fun blowing the fuck out of cars with a few friends.
I felt GTA 5 online was pretty cool, though. Poorly executed, tho

If you're in the creative industry for the money then you're in the wrong industry. No one at Rockstar would do that.
I enjoy Multiplayer, what's wrong with it? And don't say "I get blown up every 5 seconds" because that's just how the game is.
GTA:O now compared to launch is leaps and bounds better and more enjoyable.
The huge fucking grind, the huge fucking price of everything, the only people that get banned are the ones giving themselves money and not the ones who instakill everyone on the server as soon as they spawn, etc.
GTA Canada, Vancouver, no guns, lots of pot, when police arrest you, you have to say Sorry and they unarrest you.

Reason I stopped playing GTAV was...the huge grind and prices.
Like seriously, I don't have fucking 50+ hours to spend grinding to get XP and Money, they don't even have any good missions that gets you a ton of cash, most I've seen was like 10k, 10k gets you fuck all. And even worse, it's worse for new players since the ones where you get a big amount, is not till you are like level 20, or level 30+, so they have to stick with like 1k per job for the first 50 hours of GTA:O, not enough to buy good shit.

I intensely dislike the setting of vice city. I hope its something else.
I would say have a London based GTA, but mass murdering gun maniacs isn't a common thing here so it wouldn't fit.
But that's just the multiplayer. GTAV was an amazing game with enough stuff in it even without the multiplayer.
The singleplayer was pretty sub-par tbh. Out of all the mainline games since 3 it's by far my least favorite
Since more than 14% of Rockstar's games played in Los Angeles or a fictional LA, GTA VI might play in it as well.
I think vice city being Miami and having the deep south to the north while having even more of the Caribbean to the south would be fantastic, plus they could put in a spaceport which could work in so many ways for GTA
Florida is just too perfect of a state to satire right now
Back to the 80's. Driving around South Beach in a Countach or shooting alligators in the Glades with hicks would be awesome. Yes we need another Vice City.

But GTAV was that already?
Detroit go
I just want it more detailed focused with interiors and less time spent on making a fully detailed ocean floor you never need to go in ever.
Cut the size to what SA map was(literally, I know V is part of SA) and just make it super detailed, bunch of interiors, seriously, the gun fights in 4 and 5 are amazing, especially inside.
That or go back to liberty city and make it more like 4s realism BUT actually put in good shit they learned from 4 and 5.

Thats... actually a really good idea. Plus we could get a whole political aspect to the game that we've never gotten before.

as a florida resident; please let this happen. I want to run over people with golfcarts and fight panthers. Run from the cops on an airboat in the everglades
could totally see alot of NASA - SpaceX stuff too
With Mafia III coming out I cant say Cold war america, with Mafia 2 I cant say 30s-40s, what else, WW1? Civil war?
America is pretty exhausted. Apart from modern Europe, I would also suggest Cold war and Interwar. Communist Rebels, Italian Mafia. You can easily have 3 distinct countries in a map slightly bigger than V.
With Sleeping Dogs you can't say Hong Kong is unique. Tokyo is a nice suggestion done by someone here.
Istanbul and youll be smuggling refugees instead of drugs, hell yeah. Throw in some naval warfare too, evade Greek patrol boats.
American in the 'Lets get the Hollywood experienc' has been done.
They haven't touched the Mid East, They haven't touched middle America. They haven't touched the South or Texas.
GTA Vice City Stories had that awesome "mob boss" thing going for it where you ran your own gang but sadly it wasn't fleshed out much.
If they made it so you ran your own cartel in the 80s in Vice City it would be amazing. We would also get one kickass soundtrack again too.
I definitely vote for Vice City too. Hasn't been revisited outside of PSP games honestly and they lack the detail or graphical advancement of the last ten years or so.
Vice City and surrounding countryside would be awesome.
