Rockstar North are based in Scotland.
Rockstar have studios in London, Leeds and Lincoln, they all worked on V with North.
which is why it would be something different rather than the same old incarnation but with new features, you could have a sort of csi type story tracking down murderers and either doing it by the book progressing that story ( commandeering cars with your badge ) or go full on corrupt cop and kill them but cover it up sort of.
Sounds like you want L.A. Noire more than GTAVI.
I'd be really hyped if it was some asian city like Seoul/Tokyo/Shanghai. I'm starting to get sick of all of these games being set in America. I live here, I want to see other cities goddamnit
I'm pretty sure Rockstar said they'd never move away from America because the bulk of their research is about America so they could include commentary about western culture.
Sounds like you want L.A. Noire more than GTAVI.
what if i want a merger of both?
what if i want a merger of both?
First thing that game to mind was GTA in the late 1940's. Could be cool even though Mafia already did that era. Thinking of places / eras that haven't been done, has the Soviet Union at any time ever been done?
It doesn't even do the city thing people say, it does a region and then smashes several cities into looking like one.
You're completely wrong. Every city that they've re-created since GTA 3 has been basically a condensed version (with only the interesting parts) of their real-life equivalents. And GTA V actually got a lot of it down very well, while it is not a 1-1 recreation, it's map is full of enough recognizable scenery to (almost) get around on inclination alone. I've lived in LA for four or five years and I have to say thay really nailed the city on the head.

It took inspiration from New York and other cities, but wasn't based on any in particular. Vice City was based off Miami but this still wasn't totally obvious.
USSR during the late 1940s could be done: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Meeting_Place_Cannot_Be_Changed
I was talking about the realm of open-world games.
80's stuff seems really popular right now, hoping Rockstar notices and makes it Vice City.
Dubai would be nice
no
I feel like they'll probably release Vice City + wilderness in the same way we got Los Santos and Blaine County. If SA is basically California, then I assume we would get Vice City in a condensed Florida?

Also lots of beaches. [editline]8th April 2016[/editline] And old people

And all the beaches too. It'd be cool if they featured the whole of Florida but I'm sure there's limitations preventing that.
gta london revisited

Id like a late 60's/early 70's GTA. Think it would be nice to run over hippies and see cops driving old muscle cars. Possibly be able to play as a vietnam vet for the main character.
