Everyone is going 'oh no 2016' and stuff but in reality this was because of her lifestyle when she were younger.

this shit is just heartbreaking
why
This was about Carrie Fisher though, I'd never heard that name before the plane heart attack. Nobody's been claiming to not have heard about Princess Leia, although I can imagine a bunch of people not being familiar with Leia either.
Why even bother to come here and shit up the thread if you didn't know who she is
She also had a handful of other notable roles outside of Leia; they were just before the 90's, which is probably why you haven't seen them. She pretty much retired from acting around that time other than returning to do Leia.
Is she? She was in Star Wars and that's kinda it? She hasn't really had any notable roles outside of Princess Leia. If you don't care about Star Wars you might not even know who she is.
Carrie Fisher is incredibly famous. She's the daughter of two famous actors, has an extensive filmography, and spent years speaking out about mental health and substance abuse. Besides that, most people know the cast of Star Wars by now. She's about as "household name" as can be.

George Michael also did a fuckload of drugs, but it's not like it's common for celebrities who do drugs to die within one week
Another reason to never touch coke.
We still got Mark though, right?
Star Wars still has much of its main original cast, doesn't it?
Star Trek however is slowly becoming a recording of ghosts

Do you legitimately live in a cave?
I wouldn't have made an "argh 2016" post until now but this just feels silly.
George Michael also did a fuckload of drugs, but it's not like it's common for celebrities who do drugs to die within one week
but a lot of people who do drugs die everyday, it is common, just because these two human beings happened to have a celebrity status doesn't take away the fact that they were still people who did drugs and suffered consequences

I can't help but find it all a little ironic because in a documentary on drug abuse a few years ago she actually said she didn't see herself living much longer as the effects of the abuse are showing more and more, its just a timebomb waiting to go off.
Godspeed.

We don't even know if this was caused by her history with drugs yet, it's a possibility but people are just jumping to conclusions.
I can't help but find it all a little ironic because in a documentary on drug abuse a few years ago she actually said she didn't see herself living much longer as the effects of the abuse are showing more and more, its just a timebomb waiting to go off.
I think that's the opposite of irony, actually.
George Michael also did a fuckload of drugs, but it's not like it's common for celebrities who do drugs to die within one week
but it is common for drugs to kill people prematurely.
don't deny that.
More famous people to die each year because the amount of famous people increases each year. Prediction: more famous people will die in 2017 than 2016.
get that science heresy out OF MY FACE
Do you legitimately live in a cave?
What makes you say that?
Everyone did, but it seems that those were fake news after all?
what fake news? she was said to be in a "stable" condition, that's all i heard. does "stable" mean she is "RECOVERING"? seems everyone just heard what they wanted to hear. i was prepared for the worst from the start, or more accurately ever since people including EMTs started posting about brain damage.
RIP

well no shit no one is saying the year 2016 literally has evil magic powers
Stop with this "2016" shit.
People die everyday, some are just more popular than others.
of course people care more when popular people die, and of course people care when so many of them die in such a short time frame
the difference is that famous people are much more influential than the average nobody. if you died right now i wouldn't give a shit, and if i died right now you wouldn't give a shit. so you really don't have to wonder why people give more of a shit when someone who influenced millions of people dies, and at such a young age at that
it's not a "societal quirk". saying that we shouldn't care when people who've made an impression on our lives or that we should care about every death on earth equally is ridiculous
I think that's the opposite of irony, actually.
I guess so, its just damning when someone calls something happening to themselves as an offhand comment then it actually happens.
what fake news? she was said to be in a "stable" condition, that's all i heard. does "stable" mean she is "RECOVERING"? seems everyone just heard what they wanted to hear. i was prepared for the worst from the start, or more accurately ever since people including EMTs started posting about brain damage.

There was a fake story about her brother (?) reporting her as stable, but no such report was made.

A lot of people misunderstand what "stable" actually means in the medical emergency sense.
FUCK

Man I'm gonna miss Carrie, I grew up with star wars and the old trilogy will always have a special place in my heart. I don't know if I can watch those films without tearing up now.

I'm going to that exact place in 2 days, total coincidence but I'l have a thought for her.
She had an accident while coming back from Belgium?
I have been sitting here now for a while... I can't believe it... I was met with "this" as the first thing I check on Facepunch today...
