Friendo did you proofread this at all?

Like, even then, the Ferguson shit is not representative of every department in the whole country.
And citing something that happened 50 years ago in relation to current ongoing events as an example of current ongoing problems is just bizarre.
I definitely wouldn't go so far as to say that the shit uncovered in the Ferguson Report is carried out by every department, or even most departments. However, I think it's pretty foolish to assume that Ferguson is unique, and that similar rackets aren't ongoing in other areas of urban poverty. Ferguson is no different from any of other districts within Saint Louis, and Saint Louis isn't all that different from any of the other industrial cities that faced urban economic collapses following deindustrialization and the civil rights era. What happened in Ferguson is happening elsewhere.
What the fuck is this bullshit? So because he thinks BLM has some anti-cop bias (hint: it does, the narrative has always and consistently been about cop on black shooting) and that he would walk away if he felt personally offended that means he's going to shoot a black kid?
What hypocrisy, both in this thread and in others. I've seen you argue hard against such baseless, and frankly belligerent, conjecture leveled against other people and you've banned them for it as well.
Hahaha, yes, let's hold guns to people's heads and force them to work because slavery is awesome.
No, that's not what I'm teying to say. It's not his views on BLM that concern me, but his views on police brutality and use of force. There has not been a single case of police violence that he hasn't rushed to justify. No matter the conditions, he stands firmly by the notion the police officers gotta do what they gotta do, and if people die? Well, too bad.
It's a dangerous mindset, and one that could (not necessarily will) lead to tragedy, assuming my memory of him being an armed police officer is accurate.

I understand, but generalizing the entirety of the Police as a "tool of revenue generation for the state" with "no purpose" is kind of a shitty thing to say.
Reminder that cops do not protect you, they enforce the law and help keep peace, stop referencing them as a "who do I call to protect me as a minority?! :(((" type of thing. They are not your bodyguards, nor are they anyone else's bodyguard.

Reminder that many of the laws they enforce do protect you and that keeping the peace means preventing harm. And if you're concerned about your safety at home, get a weapon. But first make sure your state doesn't have really shitty self-defense laws that jail the victims.

That does not change the fact they are called "peacekeepers" and just because they are given a book of rules (or in this case, laws) which they must enforce, that does NOT mean that they are protecting YOU, they are upholding the rule book of our society.
I agree that you should always own a gun if you are worried for your safety, just make sure said gun is licensed and if you are carrying a weapon on you when in public that you have a permit to do so...unless you're an anti-gun activist or liberal or something.

Unless you live in Alabama or New Orleans, then it's pretty much tuesday.

No, I believe they have a purpose, but the purpose is primarily revenue generation and political repression. It's really not that hard to see.

Fuck off with this revenue generation shit. 99% of people are out there to make money. Nonprofits have to make money to fund research. Device manufacturers have to make money to continue manufacturing. Energy companies have to make money to continue providing energy. And every branch of our government needs - you guessed it - money to do anything. You need money too, so the obvious way to stop you from fucking up is to take some away.
As for the police as a tool for political repression... I love hand-waving too.

Ah yes, they exist purely for money generation. That must be why police departments across the nation are overstaffed and overtrained. As for political repression, you're nuts. We allow anarchist, communists, and nazis to hold their distorted views. The only time we step in is if they take it to far and threaten the peace.
