• US Military Soldiers made to wear "Post Pregnancy Girth Strap on" to help empathize with Fem-Soldier

Read the fucking thread guys, its already been explained. The women under go training AFTER giving birth to re-condition their bodies for battle, The trainers are being made to wear the shit so they understand the physical limitations of the women they will be pushing to get fit again.
I came into this thread expecting something about strap-ons, and am extremely disappointed.
Boner + jeans = Bitch of a situation
Its a bitch, but nothing compared to pregnancy. Compared to pregnancy, its like having an itch on your nose.
Sorry - 'Fem-Soldiers'? If that doesn't give away the OP's misogyny...
There is also the fact that he didn't post the entire article.
for those that don't want to read the article, keep in mind that this is for officers who want to learn how to better train their trainees, not for regular soldiers. "made to wear" is a rather disingenuous thing to put in the thread title, really.
Pregnant soldiers are all over the place here on fort Campbell..the pregnant platoon interrupted my squads pool pt session this morning lol
Give me ONE situation in which your penis has inhibited you in any major way.
I am CONSTANTLY tripping over mine [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline]
Sorry - 'Fem-Soldiers'?
It's not even a valid comparison. Men have penises all of their life, it doesn't inhibit them. Women are pregnant for only 9 months a time and go through many physical changes. If they are soldiers they need time while pregnant or after just having a baby to re-adjust to physical strain, and so it's good to have these programs.
If anything it's a mockery to what women REALLY go through after child birth. Adding a little extra weight doesn't account for the series of chemical processes a female goes through after child birth.
Reminds me of this story my dad told me about one of his friends at West Point. Apparently he was hitting on one of the female drill sergeants and made a pretty sexist statement and was forced to wear a bra for 2 weeks.
Yes because using contractions is obviously a horrific slur and not because the FULL title wouldn't fucking fit
What, the FULL title that the OP made up, which consequently turned out to be totally simplistic and incorrect? The one that s/he created, and was consequently not at all fixed? And yes. The term 'fem-soldiers' is a slur in this context, because it's differentiating between the titular 'US military soldiers' (who are distinguished from the female ones, thereby making male ones the default, and females the abnormal). And 'fem-' anything is generally viewed as a slur, in my experience. Also I'm not convinced that it wouldn't have fit; I believe I've seen far longer titles.
This is what the Army spends their money on? We're having budget cuts and losing amenities and benefits for our troops and this is what they spend their money on? What the fuck.
I can understand the mentality behind this, but this isn't the right way to go about it. Soldiers should want to help their comrades and not make fun of them. Obviously the core values and shit don't get followed all the time and people act like assholes. Instead of doing this, it is going to make things worse for the woman because the men will then make fun of them more. Men are just physically different, if you got a 200 pound dude and strap the fake belly on him and he does not have an issue it is going to enforce that mentality that is negative. Instead just educate everyone on the subject and the difficulties of having such a condition while active duty. Then the military provide a support group for the woman and provide them extra training opportunities along with physical fitness in a environment that is supportive to them so they can get back in shape.
Female soldiers are abnormal.
Only in America and a handful of other countries
Only in America and a handful of other countries
No, in the entire world. There is not a single military anywhere that has more female soldiers than male soldiers. Women have definitely played roles in warfare throughout history, but otherwise every armed force has always been almost completely dominated by men. A handful of developed countries allow women to serve, and of those, thirteen allow them to serve in combat. That is a distinct minority. My original point was that the term "fem-soldiers" is hardly offensive, unless you're incredibly sensitive - in which case, the military sure as hell is not for you.
Something tells me you wouldn't last too long in the infantry.
How is that relevant?

A large part of their armed forces were women, its just never shown because they were usually snipers.
Something tells me you wouldn't last too long in the infantry.
Because she'd never be in the infantry because she wasn't fucking stupid?

just kick em in the nuts
Yup, this is the big-ticket defense procurement that is taking funds away from amenities and benefits are you joking?
I call it wasteful spending. Yeah sure women have trouble getting back into shape after having a kid, so what. So do people who get injured or have metabolism issues. As a Marine the way I see it if you want to be in the military you need to all meet a standard. Some people have to work harder to meet that standard. Rather than spend government money to show people how hard it is for a certain group, they should work on unit cohesion to motivate those who have difficulty.
This thread is a clusterfuck and I can't get a single bit of confirmed information out of it other than "pregnant US soldiers". What's going on? Are they actually serving? They really shouldn't be (unless it's a desk job) - need to keep the baby safe and I hear pregnancy can be a real bitch for the mom as well. Is there some sort of physical therapy program going on for soldiers coming back in after pregnancy? If so then that's fine. What the hell else is happening?
Something tells me you wouldn't last too long in the infantry.
i don't think a bullet or an RPG projectile would check for facepunch posts. [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline]
they should work on unit cohesion to motivate those who have difficulty.
that's what they are doing unless you have some magical source of money, they are gonna have to spend government money.

Where the army buys fake boobs and guts, we use competition and camaraderie.
Give me ONE situation in which your penis has inhibited you in any major way.
Applying to be a babysitter. :colbert: Checkmate athiests. On topic however, Seems... unnecessary? Firstly, i know you shouldn't treat women as fragile creatures when they're pregnant, but highly stressful situations (even as training) seems odd, but secondly it still doesn't reflect the mental changes women go through as well.
