I thought they were just brass with big shiney collars and SNCO's that lie to look good to get promoted
What they tell superiors is different than what they tell us. I'm not saying all SNCOs and officers are corrupt, but when someone is giving you a nudge on the shoulder to say certain things it is in your best interest to do that. This coming from the personal experience of not only myself but of my superiors. The military world runs quite diffidently than what people think, there's just as much back stabbing and gossip as there is in the corporate world.
I always thought there was more, because if it happens too much in a corporation, the corporation fails. I'm saying that the couple of devices they use don't cost enough to warrant your outrage, compared to the money procurement and RnD and piss away. Benefits are the first thing to be cut every time spending needs to be reined enough vets have huge issues for good reasons
You should be a little more specific when you choose your words next time then. From what I read you said Commanders, NCO's (which includes Corpsman), soldiers etc are not medical professionals. But you know what? You're absolutely right about all of this. You're the professional here, so I'll stop arguing with you and just continue working my 12 hr a day menial job at your local Naval Hospital(on an inpatient unit nonetheless ugh I hate night shift on the psychiatric unit all the geriatrics act weird). While I'm at it I'll let my Lieutenant know that his PHD in Psychology doesn't mean he knows what he's talking about. Because a med student said so.
haha ha psychology. can't stabilise a patient with comforting thoughts, darling. [editline]25th February 2012[/editline]
What the medical professional decides is best is what goes. If for whatever reason the medical professional decides that a program of this type is best of the woman in question then the command will abide, but that is considered an isolated case as in its what works best for that woman. It is not required across the board for all women to do.
This is all fair and well, but I'd like to know how this proves your point.

Keep in mind I do come from the marine corps community, where we pinch every penny to make sure what we spend our money on counts (not quite literally, I've seen wasteful spending here and there. Happens to every company). That coupled with our own mentality on physical fitness and self reliance usually conflicts with Army policies. Personally I just find it annoying that they are spending money on something when they could do it for "free" by pulling from resources already available (like what lcpl kidder said).
[editline]25th February 2012[/editline] You must be new to the whole medicine thing if you scoff at the idea of mental health. Know what suicide is? Yeah. Also the beauty of military medicine is that you're not just centered around one field. One day I'll be working on the psych unit and the next day I can be pushing babies in LND, or I'll find myself on watch in the ICU helping to take care of coded patients( I pray you know what that means). I know what I'm talking about. Sorry.

A physical health issue, which PPPT solves, would do little with mental health. Just simply having a PhD doesn't mean you're a medical genius. People have PhD's in all sorts of things. [editline]25th February 2012[/editline] And again, proper allocation of resources is a useless endeavour when you are with the US military. Just because the funding may not be done properly, doesn't mean it should be removed entirely. That's just stupid.

The Marine Corps opinion does however, and they chose not to put a program like this into play because we already had a mentorship program in place for our pregnant marines to be supported by that didn't cost us extra money and drew from resources we already had.
But isn't it possible that because the comparative size of the army (and reserve and NG) that it becomes worthwhile due to scaling?
But isn't it possible that because the comparative size of the army (and reserve and NG) that it becomes worthwhile due to scaling?
It could be. Still, if we're factoring in scale here the amount of money spend versus saved is a much larger fraction in comparison. This also has to deal with the army mentality. They're more concerned about over all numbers than quality of the general population.
You also don't need to spend money on useless 66 billion dollar jets, but you guys do that anyway. So quit your bitching about a program that spurs a little human empathy. By god the military needs it.
Oh holy fuck, Guy...The average Infantry company doesn't need to know what it feels like to get knocked up..ITS NOT OUR FUCKING JOBS. We need more range time, some good pt and more time training in the field. As far as your Glenn Beck comment..I'm a left leaning independent. I just happen to have something called common sense combined with something called logic. Just because I have these two things doesn't make me some cunt ass Bible thumping conservative. Oh, and you're right about spending money on jets. I think the U.S. is retarded for investing even a dime in the F-22 and F-35. The F-22 in particular is a shit aircraft that doesn't even compare to the Russian federation's Su series fighters. Buying the F-22 was just another case of the U.S. going "dah amurica has to be the bestest!1!!!!!". I find that most people that actually like that plane are blind nationalist retards.
Oh holy fuck, Guy..you can't be this out of touch with reality. I really cannot understand how this keeps being misconstrued as "they're making all the infantrymen wear girth straps in combat" or something.

lmfao..your running argument against me is gonna be some retarded ass moto pics I took when I was 15? Oh dear lord! You have defeated me master! You were able to look me up like some stalker ass freak and find some old ass picture of me holding a firearm like a dumbass zit faced teen just working at Burger Kung at the time! LOL. Why don't you conjure up a real argument instead of using some stupid ass childhood pictures against people like a BITCH.
Sir from the way you are typing it appears he has already won
yo yo yo BITCH LOL. LOL. LOL. Or, alternatively, I could just post what you've still not responded to
It's not for every infantryman and it's only a three-day course for NCOs who will be working with recently pregnant women who'll be back on the job. Ah..I did indeed miss that post. Its obviously not a matter of "oh noez how are we suppossed to kill bad g3ys with stupid female girth shit on!". Its more a matter of, its not our job to sympathize with pregnant females combined with, we could be doing some actual useful training for our upcoming deployment.
I don't know how you misconstrued it twice
Ill be honest..I failed to see that information until now.
Ill be honest..I failed to see that information until now.
So how about you try reading before posting?
No, it's not your job, but it is part of being a decent human being, so..
My job is to end peoples lives that some jackass thousands of miles away has deemed evil. I'm not a decent human being. I should've went to college.
I mean, come on.
I just happen to have something called common sense combined with something called logic.
Common sense and logic would dictate that it would be a good idea to actually read things before you respond to them, no?
So how about you try reading before posting?
Like I said..my bad. Haven't slept for a good minute.
My job is to end peoples lives that some jackass thousands of miles away has deemed evil. I'm not a decent human being. I should've went to college.
Er, not really sure what you're getting at here.
My job is to end peoples lives that some jackass thousands of miles away has deemed evil. I'm not a decent human being. I should've went to college.
uh well there have it
I mean, come on. [editline]25th February 2012[/editline]
Er, not really sure what you're getting at here.
I don't fall under your category of: "People who should feel boo boo faced for pregnant women"?
Ill be honest..I failed to see that information until now.
There is no bad reading big enough, I swear.
There is no bad reading big enough, I swear.
It's ironic..just above your post giving me shit for bad reading is my post suggesting that I'm extremely sleep deprived.
Certain things take away from the ability to catch every single post..like sleep deprivation.
whatever you are trying to accomplish, you're not accomplishing it
I don't fall under your category of: "People who should feel boo boo faced for pregnant women"?
If you don't feel that pregnant women deserve empathy, then that seems to be your own personal failing.
