Capitalism really doesn't at all. Not pure capitalism. We haven't seen a pure capitalist society since the 1800's and the industrial revolution, thank god. In a capitalist society, CONTRARY to the people who believe in capitalism, working hard does not solve your problems. In a truly capitalist society, the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer.
If you're talking about totally free market, lassiez-faire Capitalism, then yea, that's a horrible, awful mess. Robber-barons fuck people over and perpetuate a terrible system.

Even when the average FPer is an intellectual slingshot, he manages to be a water pistol
they went to war a LOT, they didn't take the land over.
They didn't take the land over because they were unable to. It is much easier to reach a peace agreement than it is to completely eliminate the other soceity if they are relatively evenly matched.
In an area with different Indian tribes that war with each other, at least one of them is more powerful then the rest. Use a little logic here
More powerful does not mean powerful enough to completely conquer them braniac. I was looking for HISTORICAL evidence, not the word of our lord and savior warhol
If you organise and have weapons, you can imperalise other people who are less organised and have weaker weapons
Did you even read the post you quoted? My point was that they were technologically very similar. IE Nobody had weaker weapons, they were all similarly organized

Even when the average FPer is an intellectual slingshot, he manages to be a water pistol
Warhol is extreme and often has trouble being articulate but he's hardly stupid. I'm an intellectual shotgun by the way I spray an argument everywhere and see what hits
What freedoms are lost in the Scandinavian countries, France, Germany, and Canada (plus the rest of the first world that isn't the US) that are due to the economic style [editline]01:20PM[/editline] The plains Indians certainly were, since everyone around them had the same level of technology.
Various economic freedoms are lost... e.g alcohol can only be sold by a state controlled monopoly industry. I think that is wrong; monopolies and state control are bad.
I drop my arguments like Enola Gay and yo ass is Hiroshima
Various economic freedoms are lost... e.g alcohol can only be sold by a state controlled monopoly industry. I think that is wrong; monopolies and state control are bad.
At least with state control you don't get shit like the financial crackdown (or whatever it's called these days).
Various economic freedoms are lost... e.g alcohol can only be sold by a state controlled monopoly industry. I think that is wrong; monopolies and state control are bad.
I don't think I'd really trust a company that was government regulated to supply drugs safely. Then again, the government isn't exactly the best at that either.
Same Shit, Different Guy. Bank has ur monies guise
Various economic freedoms are lost... e.g alcohol can only be sold by a state controlled monopoly industry. I think that is wrong; monopolies and state control are bad.
In Canada, private liquor stores are allowed in a few provinces and all bars are private as well. (Not sure how it works in the states, but here most bars have a vendor where you can get cold beer and liquor to go eliminating the need for a liquor store altogether)
Lol...state liquor stores in the states are shit and are only located in the shit states. The point is to regulate the sale of liquor. So if you are in, say, Alabama, and you are looking to purchase a bottle of fine wine to give as a gift, they won't have it. Instead, theyll have the super cheap wine that the alcoholics that they are trying to get to quit drinking want. I enjoyed the above few posts btw. Since this has turned from Obama is/isnt socialist into capitalism does/doesnt suck, I vote we change the purpose of the thread again-
I drop my arguments like Enola Gay and yo ass is Hiroshima

I'm an intellectual shotgun by the way I spray an argument everywhere and see what hits
My arguments are potholes, and everyone else's are gypsy wagons. I get em' stuck every time
Various economic freedoms are lost... e.g alcohol can only be sold by a state controlled monopoly industry. [editline]02:48AM[/editline]
My arguments are potholes, and everyone else's are gypsy wagons. I get em' stuck every time
lol, not at all.
Hmmm...if they aren't potholes, then how did I manage to sink your arguments so quickly? [editline]08:51PM[/editline]
In an area with different Indian tribes that war with each other, at least one of them is more powerful then the rest. Use a little logic here
Ill just leave this here
You're telling me, every tribe was on equal footing with every single other tribe all the time?
you're telling me, every tribe was on equal footing with every single other tribe all the time?
no god dammit, im not. Read what i write!
more powerful does not mean powerful enough to completely conquer them braniac. I was looking for historical evidence, not the word of our lord and savior warhol
(to OP) Then I do not know what the hell they teach in Humanities in the US.
They don't teach Humanities in the US. Not at elementary, middle, or high school. First humanities class I took was at college. Well, the majority of public schools don't. I don't know about those lavish elite private schools.
no god dammit, im not. Read what i write!
...ok, so, if i'm more powerful then another tribe, i can't conquer them? uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wot? [editline]07:15PM[/editline] I already told you, Indians fucking fight each other constantly, trying to find a single incident off memory is a little hard.
GOP: National Socialism = Hitler Me: Okay, you're point is? GOP: AND SOCIALISM IS COMMUNISM! Me: ...What?
