I used to think my friends being apathetic and not voting was a bad thing. Then again, I didn't think voting would make you vulnerable to identity theft at the time either.
Yeah this is really bad, America really doesn't need even LESS people voting but then stupid shit like this happens which puts people off voting.
Jesus fucking Christ, why are they still harping on about this? They won the damn election. They're in power, there's no fucking reason for any of this. It's a waste of time and resources. Stop whining and run the damn country, Donny.
Trump has a huge ego problem. Losing the popular vote is a big deal to him [editline]1st July 2017[/editline]
It's not going very well [editline]1st July 2017[/editline] Lmfao
Glad to see VA in there. Hopefully we can keep a democrat in office this year
Even Indiana is on there. The VP's own home state won't cooperate.
I'm more worried that the number of states that refused isn't 50 ANY state that doesn't refuse this is asking to be voter suppressed and gerrymandered to shit
I'm more worried that the number of states that refused isn't 50 ANY state that doesn't refuse this is asking to be voter suppressed and gerrymandered to shit
I don't know if any states have actually confirmed they will be complying yet. The ones that haven't refused may still end up doing so.
Haha kansas isn't (fully) complying and Kris Kobach is the Kansas secretary of state. What a fucking gong show

Completely fucking backwards.

While I certainly understand and agree with the stated intent of this sort of enterprise, I am definitely not okay with some federal database out there that contains all this information. It might be more tolerable if we had issued voter IDs in the past that weren't tied to your every move -- SSNs are just way too sensitive to be piling up in a heap under the auspices of the increasingly leaky federal government. In my opinion, the decentralized organization of our democratic processes is an asset, and this commission's irresponsible request is only threatening to compromise that asset.

Sad not to see FL on that list, was hoping for once my state would do good by me.

In times like this, I am incredibly glad to be Californian.
Even Indiana is on there. His successor literally did a 180 and began doing a bunch of things Pence went out of his way to not do despite the fact that he was part of his administration.

Boy would Trump's face turn reddish-orange.
From what I've heard before, Pence himself was a 180 from the previous governor.
He was a pretty big departure from the usual state Republican in general. It's been written up before and Pence isn't the subject of this thread so I'll not derail too much but tl;dr at the state and local level here Republican tend to just be fiscally conservative are mostly moderate on social issues where as Pence went hard right on literally everything and made his entire gubernatorial term into a giant advertisement for the VP seat instead of actually doing what Indiana needed.
snip, wrong thread
Sad not to see FL on that list, was hoping for once my state would do good by me.
Well shit, nice knowing you all - if the secret MAGA police get me, you'll know why.
44 out of 50 states have now said either nope or fuck off https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2017/07/05/most-states-are-now-partially-or-fully-refusing-to-hand-over-data-to-trumps-voter-fraud-commission/?utm_term=.573a014c3678
