Thank god he can't win. The fact he is considered at all for the elections is insane in itself, though.
I wouldn't be too sure.
wow thanks for the wild speculation
I'm going to call up the medical associations of every country in the world, and tell them that Dr Ganerumo knows more than them and that they've been wrong this whole time
go back up and read about why it's a good thing
First of all, the guy who said it was a good thing is one guy who wrote a "how to help yourself" book. It's not the entire medical world who said this. Second, even the guy said this was creepy, just understandable.
If so much people in this thread found this to be completely inhumane and straight out of a psychopath's mind, if they are cringing at the simple idea of seeing this happening, it might be because human beings are supposed to find that shit creepy. It's basically instinctive, just like the fact that we're supposed to be alarmed by things that have bright hot colors like orange or red, and that we're supposed to be calmed down by things having cold colors.
Considering a dead baby alive and treating it as if it was isn't normal. People are supposed to be repulsed by the dead because it's what we are all going to be, and we all want to delay death as much as possible (at least we all should be hence why suicide is so strange and unsettling as well), they aren't supposed to take dead bodies and hug them and make their kids hug them.
That shit is nasty and horrible. Seeing a dead body and confirming to yourself that the person is definitely gone is a good thing, and you don't need to carry around a dead baby to realize it's freaking dead.
In comparison just imagine if an adult died, and his family decided to attach strings to him and start moving him around like a puppet. It's the same level of fucked up.

if we're instinctively supposed to find this creepy and revolting, how do you explain the cultures around the world that do even "weirder" shit with their dead loved ones?

He could not even win against a moderate in one of the most conservative States in the Union, how is he going to win any normal states?
Calm down guys. I can understand feeling a bit creeped out by this, considering the creepiness of the topic in general, but when you go on about how insane the guy is and making all these dumb assumptions you really make yourself seem like the crazy one. It doesn't say he forced his kids to hug it, it didn't say they pretended he was still alive for a few days, nor did it say pretty much any of the other insane shit you guys are assuming. As weird as it is, I can even understand having it circumcised (understand, though I do still think it's weird).
I don't support the guy. I actually haven't heard a lot about him before this, so if you know of anything actually unsavory about the guy (besides him being republican, which right now is pretty unsavory) I'm interested in hearing it. However, it seems to me you guys are just using this as an excuse to confirm your preexisting hatred for him.
Is this weird? Yeah, definitely.
Does it make him insane?
No.
Anyone with questions regarding this can forward their queries to the psychologists cited in the article.
If this helps his family cope with the death of this child, then I don't see what's so evil about it.
It's not only normal, but recommended
here are some daguerreotypes indicating it was also happened prior the 20th century

I guess his political beliefs aren't the only thing that was popular in the Victorian times.
I wouldn't exactly call him insane for this, of all things.
But it certainly is a VERY weird thing to do.
Didn't someone else do this?
Oh it was those Dugger morons wasn't it?
I thought this was a sweet and touching story :)
Shrinks are crazy themselves, man.
My bigger concern is sanitation. They were cuddling with a dead body after all. As for weird, humanity has done a lot of weird things with corpses. This is no more weird than pulling the brain out through the nose or shrinking a head or tanning the hide of a kill or making leather. We do a lot of weird things

It was only for a few hours. Just because something is dead doesn't mean it's instantly dangerous. Remember that baby died at body temperature. It was fairly clean, and a few hours in it would probably be about as sanitary as it was when it expired.
Now if it was a day later, or two days later, that's when the body becomes something you don't want to touch anymore.

Did you just bump a thread from January for this?
Necro bumping harder than a dead baby!
So they get to dictate what's weird and not weird even though everyone else is saying "What the fuck"?
Psychologists are weird
Trust me, I'm a scientist

see? this is me
He is insane. I am happy he is out of the race. Nothing good could come from him running for president.
Actually people used to do this all the time. When child mortality rates where high people would take pictures with their dead children posed to look alive. Not that I'm defending Santorum.
After dealing with McCain, Palin, Santorum, Romney, Gingrich, Cain, and whomever else I may have missed I actually legit miss Bush Jr. Sure he was an idiot, but damn these people are fucking ridiculous. At least we have Obama, that counts for something.

Sadly, I have to agree. These lunatics make Bush jr. look relatively sane.

(Yes that's a real billboard :v: )
It's sad that anyone would rather kiss a dead baby than let men marry men and women marry women.
