You're right, it's perfectly possible for two free radicals to join up again and react, but it's more likely for the two parts to just shoot off in different directions and meet up with something else before that happens. There certainly won't be much of an attractive force felt between free radicals since they're uncharged.
That just reminded me, if you think of the the possible directions a particle can fly off at random as a gigantic sphere made up of an infinite number of vectors pointing outwards the chances of two particles flying exactly toward each other (or close enough toward each other so that they'll interact and bond) is relatively low. There's only a small chunk of the sphere of movement that will allow for that to occur. That's probably a more tangible explanation as to why not all free radicals reform into a regular, benign molecule. Radio waves are the lowest on the chart, and yet everybody seems to bicker about them and not give a shit about oh, say, fucking visible light.
You've got that the wrong way around. 'Smaller' electromagnetic waves are higher in energy than 'larger' ones. Because E = hf and v = fλ (v in this case is c, so c = fλ), then E = hc/λ. Because E is inversely proportional to wavelength as λ goes down (waves get smaller), E goes up (more energetic waves).
Yeah, because every country outside north america and europe is a third world country right?
europe isnt a country
europe isnt a country
where did he say it was
cell phones can increase your body temperature by 0.0001 degrees; they don't however cause cancer stupid india
fucking nowhere, that's where cease jumping the gun [editline]24th December 2011[/editline] ASS
Brb building a reactor out of mobile phones.
India should just spend the money on stopping poverty
India should just spend the money on stopping poverty
While they're at it, can they just cure cancer? aswell as develop a fix to global warming? oh and that new car i'm looking into...
For some reason the title reminded me of my old school's monitors, they had a sticker on them saying "Low radiation warning".
except the crts actually did emit dangerous radiation.
Not in any sizable quantities, though. On a related note one of my xmas presents was a 32 inch LCD TV. I'm now, once and for all, finally rid of CRT technology!
cell phones can increase your body temperature by 0.0001 degrees; they don't however cause cancer stupid india
Cell phones indeed do not emit ionizing or nuclear radiation; they merely emit non-ionizing radiation that only slightly heats. This, obviously, normally isn't a problem. However, if you're the type of dumbass retard who is on the phone like six hours a day, you are exposed to this 'heating' radiation long enough that this can be harmful over long periods of time; it's like slow-cooking your brain cells, and can slightly increase the chance of brain cancer. For those retards, there should be warning labels advising against extended usage.
