If I could find that thread, I bet you half of the people posting here are the ones who posted in the other threads about him.
It's happened before.

Then go find it and prove what you're saying. You won't with me at least. I've only posted in one thread that I remember before this week about TB and while there was criticism there it was based off a first impression.
What's with everyone loving TB after this thread.
Because maybe it's possible to feel sympathy for somebody you usually don't like if they're going through a really shitty situation? It's called having a heart.

Also you still can disagree with a person but yet respect his effort and commentary.

Difference between saying "He's been a dick in the past, but I feel for him"
and
"What he's never been a dick!!! He's just been 'brutally honest'"
What's with everyone loving TB after this thread.
I remember a previous thread here or in the videos section about TB being an ass on Youtube Comments and everyone was against him.
Hilarious how fast people change how they think based on the majority.
I'd say Rust Audience but I know it's not fully true.
Rather than just seagulling this thread, I'll weigh in with an opinion and a question. I think Derek Smart and TB have a lot in common; in personality, quality of their content and how they handle criticism. I'd bet the two of them are/would be good friends.
With his endless stream of content, TB's inability to insulate himself from comments and bad criticism and clearly it isn't sustainable. His reddit posting history (before he deleted it) showed how horribly bad he was at this- every time he posted something he'd be in the comments feeding the trolls, making it worse for himself instead of either not looking, or responding to fans.
Everyone on the internet gets shit thrown at them, TB catches it with his mouth and eats it. Should I feel sympathy?

I respect him for tredging on even with all the flaming and trolling on his videos.
and I feel for him for being under so much pressure.
But I still think he's a nob.

Who here actually said that? I see plenty saying the former, I don't think anyone has said he's never been a dick.
One of the first posts in the thread along with the 300+ agrees.
Well he's not doing so either, but what's the point you're trying to get across anyway? Would asking people to stop being such assholes really asking too much?
No, it isn't too much, people can do that all they want. I'm just saying it's a losing game to do that, because people will not stop being assholes. You should try to figure out solutions to your problems instead of hoping people will be nice.
I haven't actually read all the posts so far, so I don't know if I'm late, but to the people saying "hurr he gets lots of money, he should just deal with it" or "grow a thicker skin" and so on, have you ever actually created something and then given it to the public eye?
Not only is it fucking scary, you will get a lot of negative comments (not always even criticism) for, really, no reasons at all. Multiply that when you're on the internet. TB not only does this on a daily basis, he also puts a lot more effort into this sort of thing than a lot of other successful "YouTubers."
People here have already countered the "thicken yer skin" arguments and the money shit, but let me get a bite out of that too. You cannot honestly say that he should just cope with this shit, you are not him. You do not know him nor do you know how he works. I'm also fairly sure that you don't know what it would be like, I sure as hell don't, to get those amounts of flak for something you created. You can see how much he cares for this when he has many times told how lots of videos don't get on the actual channel: he cares about his content but also his viewers. Looking at your own creation and noticing bad things about it just after you've made it is incredibly hard, but he does it a lot. Sometimes it's a bit late, but even then he still deletes that shit just so you don't have to spend your time with something sub-par.
And the money thing. People who can actually say "I'd be perfectly fine with being insulted if I made that amounts of dolla." No, no you wouldn't. Otherwise most of the people who got a lot of money wouldn't bitch when they're being insulted by the dozens. You'll feel like people hate your fucking guts and anyone who doesn't have some sort of mental illness would find that one of the most horrible things possible that could happen. It takes a lot of strength, but also ignorance, to look past that and find only the supportive stuff. Then there's the problem of never actually getting better since you'd be missing a lot of the actual criticism you get.
So, basically, anyone saying shit about him without actually being in his shoes should just shut up. You don't know how things are, I don't know how things are. The best we actually can do is just say "Well, I hope he gets better" and that's mostly it. And if some people here would actually be glad if he stops making videos, what the actual fuck. Why would you be happy that people won't get something they liked, when all you had to do was look the other way?

So you're basically saying don't feed the trolls?
THEN LEAVE THE BUSINESS
The way I see it this whole fiasco is one of three things:
1. TB really can't understand the nature of the internet, and the bad comments are getting to him so badly that he needs a therapist - it's time to leave the business if this is the case, it's not meant for your personality type.
2. TB got sick of the harsh comments and criticism he was getting so he came up with this therapist thing to help calm it down/generate thousands of white knights who will shame everyone out of voicing their opinions
or
3. He really doesn't care, his popularity had stopped growing quickly enough, so he threw an imaginary fit as a publicity stunt - if this is the case, TB can fuck off.
There is no right personality type for this
as for the other two points are you like 13 or something? How did you manage to exit those conclusions from your head into the internet?
I have one question that's bugged me forever.
Why didn't he just shave his head? People who are bald but have beard look good. People who have a beard but are balding? Not so much.
i think grey hair is the least of his problems, rather its what's causing the grey hair
The guy Max (in Catfish) is fairly young, and has a full head of grey hair.
He looks really hot with it though. TotalBiscuit isn't appealing anyways.

That always happens. When some kid kills himself because of bullying, suddenly everyone's all like "Oh he was such a good kid", when a week ago they were kicking his shit in and pushing him down flights of stairs.

There should probably be some little information disclaimer so people don't continue to post
1. it's just the internet get over it
and
2. he's rolling in money why should it even bother him
also for people saying he should just "ignore" it all, in his line of work, that's kind of difficult, it's either read the comments to learn to better your show, or just keep making what you are and hope that what you make is what the audience likes and it's what they want to see. He also can't really take a break in this kind of situation, Boogie did a pretty good video on this, if you want to stay relevant and popular, two weeks or more is basically a death sentence for people who's livelihood depends entirely on this. Ashens could take a break if he wanted to, his entire livelihood does not depend on his youtube channel, he works for BBC and does his youtube as a little side hobby. Totalbiscuit cannot, his entire livelihood depends on him staying relevant and popular if he wants to support his family. If you suggest he go look for another job, that's nice and all, but in today's economic climate that's risky as hell, he'd have to take on the task of looking and apply for another job while he continues his youtube job so the flow of money doesn't stop.
