They could choose not to harass. I don't like Pewdiepie. I simply do not watch his video's. I don't dedicate myself to shitting on them.
A lot of people fail to realize they can choose not to look at something they don't like, it's pathetic, even more when they dedicated themselves into harassing them.
Well, if I were in that situation then I'd take a look at how actual celebrities do it. They certainly deal with those same problems somehow without going insane and they get the same (probably more) type of attention. What I'm trying to say is that it's not some unsolvable problem that will lead everyone who experiences it towards a path of self destruction and suffering.
I think that has to do with real celebrities just having more shit and money.

Its also pathetic when people keep jerking off to someone and seem to ignore his flaws (and that he's not actually good at what he does but w/e)

Alot of "real" celebrities go mad and abuse drugs.
Its also pathetic when people keep jerking off to someone and seem to ignore his flaws (and that he's not actually good at what he does but w/e)
Seems like you have developed the same hatred as everyone else that either got their favorite game shitted on or just hate him for the sake of hating him. You're are literally YouTube comments in a person.
Good job!
Grey hair falling out at 29 years old?
Holy shit what the fuck

People like you are what's causing this shit, you realize that, right?

Except celebrities in real life don't get as much attention and you can pretty much evade the exposure, while on the internet you simply can't, it's a circle of non stop exposure, 24/7 even while you sleep.
Here's a previous thread about this from yesterday.

It's going to sum up most of this thread.

Oh yeah, forgot about that.
Well, I wouldn't say they go mad. And most celebrities try drugs because... well, because they're so rich and famous that they can. At least the spoiled little shits do.

???? All you have to do is create anonymous/alternative accounts that only the people you actually wanna interact with know about. This of course limits interaction with most of your fanbase, but I'd say it's a small price to pay compared to the loss of your mental health.

Pretty much, yeah.
But that doesn't mean it isn't an issue.
his inability to ignore it
It's like you have absolutely no understand of depression, anxiety or emotional stress.
Fuck at this point, given the basic like of sympathetic understanding you're showing, it's like you're not even human.
Except celebrities in real life don't get as much attention and you can pretty much evade the exposure
I think TB's in a shit position, but that's just kinda flat out wrong.

do you realize how many celebrities have had breakdowns and how they're constantly being followed by paparazzi making comments about their personal life
Its also pathetic when people keep jerking off to someone and seem to ignore his flaws (and that he's not actually good at what he does but w/e)
You're a real piece of shit you know that? What good would pointing out his flaws do? Other than make him more depressed?
This is TB:
You say this like it's a non-issue.
You do realize that people struggle with this in ways you don't understand, right? That not all minds are totally impervious? As in things like this have driven people to suicide.
It's not as simple as "lol get over it". It never fucking is.
It's like you have absolutely no understand of depression, anxiety or emotional stress.

I'm not that surprised; he answered in the other thread about TB in an incredibly similar fashion. Don't know what he wants to accomplish really; we know TB can be dick but doesn't everyone have that capacity?
Why do we assume that it's okay for people to say nasty things about anyone in any profession that they've chosen? It doesn't matter what TotalBiscuit does for a job, other people have no right to be an asshole to him any more than if he was doing anything else for a living. You can say that it's a result of being in the public eye, that this is what he's chosen. But why do we accept that? Why can't we be nice to the people we like, and just ignore the ones we don't?
Because as TB says, every single negative comment hurts ten times more than each positive one. They're ones that really sting, that follow you around and haunt you, taunting you in the back of your head... "maybe I'm not actually any good," "maybe no one really likes me." Except for the rare exceptional expression of praise, most positive comments just fall into the background noise. But you all have those awkward memories from 5, 10 years ago that you still remember and make you want to die, right? How many positive memories do you have that can make you feel the same levels of emotion? It's the negative comments that burn away at you. No matter how confident you are, how thick-skinned you are, it takes a toll on you. And this is true for almost everyone, not just TB. Constant criticism hurts like no other.
I'm not a huge fan of TB personally, but it's easy to see why he might be seeking help and/or looking to get into some other line of work, no matter what incentives he has to keep doing it. And if you're talking shit about him for saying/doing this, you've probably never been on the receiving end of serious, prolonged criticism. And also, you're an asshole for making it worse.
I think that has to do with real celebrities just having more shit and money.
Not to mention that they actually do go insane from time to time.
Plus, different types of celebrities have different types of problems. TB gets an especially huge amount of flak because he is on the internet far more often. If any other celebrity would regularly post on websites and check the resulting comments, they would also go insane.
The reddit post he made had a reply from an author, and the author detailed how he had the exact same problem. He also had a large amount of internet presence, which made him a bigger target. Once he stopped updating those sites and reading the comments, not only did it get better, but he didn't even miss the good comments. His message was to keep doing what you love without caring for what others think. "If it does for you what it did for me, you may come to realize the same thing I did: that your real fans love what you do, value it and value you, and always will. Good luck. "

The only thing that you people can do is recognize mistakes and make them bigger looking as they were seen.
Also you CANT FUCKING IGNORE THIS SHIT.
Except celebrities in real life don't get as much attention and you can pretty much evade the exposure, while on the internet you simply can't, it's a circle of non stop exposure, 24/7 even while you sleep.
What.
Have you not seen TMZ and the like.
They are paid to be total shitwads to celebrities 24/7.

Yeah, you're constantly monitored on the internet; once you reach a certain point you can't "just be thick-skinned" about it
No I don't read shitty celebrity bulletins and I don't think any magazine stings as much as the internet can do, and what internet can do to you.
I don't think people realize that telling someone with depression to "get over it" is pretty much stabbing them in the gut.
It's literally the WORST thing you can say to someone in that position.
In my experience of TB, I haven't really noticed him being an asshole. Just very brutally honest in his critique.
he's a equal opportunity asshole, which is one of two perfect personalities for a critic
total biscuit may have some bad thoughts about his fanbase and all, but he isn't truly a bad person.
I think some of you are forgetting TB's trying to improve himself in the art of ignoring dumb shit on the internet.
