I find it funny that ijyt is insistent on TB being a dick because of some shit he did years ago
Something he did years ago, and has recently gone on record saying he STILL feels shit about, he's still thinking about, he still thoroughly regrets.
his inability to ignore it
It's hard to just ignore it when shitheads go out of their way to attack you personally pretty much 24/7 The only way he can even try at the moment is to just take a sabbatical from the Internet, which is essentially what he's doing.
Its also pathetic when people keep jerking off to someone and seem to ignore his flaws (and that he's not actually good at what he does but w/e)
like what, we suddenly have an obligation to pick apart someone just because he's internet famous? get over it dude, you sound like you're much worse of a person than he is
like what, we suddenly have an obligation to pick apart someone just because he's internet famous? get over it dude, you're probably more of a dick than he is
Probably?
I'm sorry but I can't feel bad for anyone who makes as much money as TB does. You chose to take up a career in the public eye, deal with it or retire from it. Why don't we do a study on the stresses of an underpaid factory worker and see if you'd like trade places with them. No one is making you read those comments, and no one is making you continue to be Total Biscuit. Take the money you've made, accept your residuals, and retire from youtube. Maybe you'll have to get a real job, but life will still be easier for you with the money you've already made, and the residual checks coming in for a while. If it's that bad, leave don't bitch about it and make it worse, or even more pitifully use a sob story to garner attention to your channel.

You could have a million dollars and still be severely depressed. Besides, YT doesn't exactly hand out fat paychecks.
Also you CANT FUCKING IGNORE THIS SHIT.
This thread is a good example of how a "trolling" post stands out.
As if Youtubers make good money to begin with.
Well they do. They just don't ride around in a Limo like 12 year olds seem to imagine.
This thread is a good example of how a "trolling" post stands out. Well they do. They just don't ride around in a Limo like 12 year olds seem to imagine.
Just how much money do you think a Youtuber like TB makes?
funny how ijyt got banned years back when we joined because he couldn't ignore me, so he started flaming and telling me to shut up or something seems like he didn't change all these years
Just how much money do you think a Youtuber like TB makes?
"Enough to pay the bills"
Here's hoping our shit-tier mental health system doesn't fail him as well. I rather like his WTF-Is, even if he hasn't been testing any games of interest to me in the past couple years, and his Terraria with Jesse Cox always has me laughing. He's a pretty cool guy and doesn't deserve the shit thrown at him on a daily basis.
And I bet all the pieces of shit that sent him abuse constantly are probably sitting in their chairs looking all smug like they accomplished something.
Which is a large chunk of FP. I've noticed a ton of hate 'round these parts every time he's mentioned.
snip
"Enough to pay the bills"
"Enough to pay the bills" is not "good money." Good money means more than a simply livable wage.
"You're better off than someone else" is not a good enough reason to neglect someone's mental health.
why is everyone acting like I said something I didn't? I said if it's that bad he has the option to just stop and take his money and retire from it. That's what I said. If it's putting him in mental distress to the point where he needs professional help, he should stop doing it. unless this is just a ploy to get more views and attention, of course.
I don't think people realize that telling someone with depression to "get over it" is pretty much stabbing them in the gut. It's literally the WORST thing you can say to someone in that position.
I never understood why people say " get over it".

TB isn't rich. He didn't have much of a choice in this career(though luckily he enjoys doing what he does), he does have to read comments. if you honestly think he can retire from this just like that you're incredibly delusional.
"Enough to pay the bills" is not "good money." Good money means more than a simply livable wage.
There is also YouTube actively trying to screw over people like TotalBiscuit with the Content ID shit.
Okay, you go quit your job, and then try to find another one that makes you enough money to feed a family.
if my job was making me so distressed that I needed a therapist, I would. In any case, he has a better opportunity to quit his job and start at a new one because he'll receive residual checks fro quite some time even if he never makes another video.
TB you cant be a utter cunt sometimes, but you do really get alot of shit for no reason. But heavy stress is not something to joke about really, and holy shit grey hair at 29?
He had some 'partisan hackery' moments but hey, what critic or journalist hasn't? You can only be honest. I wish him the best, and hope this highlights that some people just take what they have for granted. Someone posts content online and attack him quite personally for it most of the time, they should be braced for a negative and positive reaction in equal measure. That's unfortunately how the internet and social media works: overlooking the point and attacking the individual. He's consistent and works hard for consumers, especially with the way the games industry has been going to pot in certain areas recently. I've appreciated most of what he has to say, and has occasionally influenced what I spend my money on.
The only thing that you people can do is recognize mistakes and make them bigger looking as they were seen. Also you CANT FUCKING IGNORE THIS SHIT.
social websites literally have block/ignore buttons
if my job was making me so distressed that I needed a therapist, I would.
You say that like it's easy to find another job quickly.
Grey hair falling out at 29 years old? Holy shit what the fuck
I know a dude who started getting gray hair at 20, and it's not from stress, some people are just more generically predisposed towards it

I don't think that "just retire" is a good response, why not condemn the behaviour of people who drivel on at people.
social websites literally have block/ignore buttons
And when he stops reading social media, idiots like you call him ignorant instead.
It's like you have absolutely no understand of depression, anxiety or emotional stress. Fuck at this point, given the basic like of sympathetic understanding you're showing, it's like you're not even human.
The way I see it is the human/person philosophy, wherein there are two kinds of individual, namely those who are merely human and those that are actual people. Being merely human means that you're merely an animal, a very smart kind of animal as homo sapiens sapiens, but an animal nonetheless. However if you are a person, you are a fair distance above the beast within you, the primal instincts that instruct you to merely survive, fight and fuck. Every individual should strive to be a person, and never be satisfied with being merely human. You're a bipedal dexterous sapient entity, and merely wallowing in the base instincts that come by default is like having an amazing sandwich and only eating the bread. Sadly this kind of simplicity tends to rub off on others, and people find themselves mocked by screeching, shit-flinging, hairless monkeys who don't understand and, in some cases, carry the Original Sin of not wanting to understand so they can keep on being apes. It's like Marylin Manson said, "Hey you, are you trying to be mean? You live with apes, man, it's hard to be clean". That said he said a lot of other things that I'm not into, but that's beside the point. Gotta put yourself above the animals by being the best darn thing you can be, making the most of humanity's most powerful asset, found in intellect and understanding. But even if you have six wings and burn with the fires of a sapient sun, you're still in the monkey house, and it's impossible to tune out the rattling cages, the primal screaming and the smell of shit, even if you're doing amazing stuff that puts you above the apes.

I'm glad to see that he is still professional, none of this has seeped into his WTF is... or other videos.
