The HDP made major gains in the last Turkish elections and derailed Erdogan's plans to turn Turkey into a presidential republic. Now a second election has been called and it's unclear what impact all this will have on the outcome
Rather convenient for Erdogan that the PKK is so riled up now, I guess.
Many ethnic groups are oppressed in turkey, turkey should be forced to give back land achieved in the last 100 years by war and force. Although technically the same could be said for Russia, iran and Azerbaijan.

And Turkey will say, "give back to who? Turks have always ruled here"
Erdogan is cracking down especially hard on them now,
if you view this from the pkk's side the police are enemy combatants in a conflict against the kurdish state so that would make them a fair target.
Sorry, I'm going to view this from the side of rationality and call it like I see it. This was a terrorist attack against innocent people, and even if the police were somehow an apparatus used to oppress the Kurdish people (here's a hint, some of the police are Kurdish btw) they're still not "enemy combatants" they're the fucking cops.
-typical absolutely insane bullshit from the resident communist-
Cool maps, very colorful.
Would you argue the same about Gestapo or KGB or Mossad? Turkish police doesn't have much of an international fame but that doesn't mean police can't be used for state sanctioned discrimination and oppression.
Apples =/= Oranges
The Turkish state's police force used to commit all sorts of atrocious acts against the Kurds and opposing political forces? No, not particularly.
Or maybe they're committing "atrocious acts" against internationally recognized terrorist groups? Yeah, I'm not a fan of Turkey's historic attitude and behavior against minorities but come the fuck on, the PKK are straight-up terrorists and they do shit like this all the time. They used to blithely kill Turkish civilians but they stopped that shit when it was getting them a bad reputation, they seriously don't give a fuck about if it was a bad thing to do.

Police forces from Turkey are not what I would call innocent. They are armed forces for the Turkish state, but simply used for domestic affairs. They are enemy combatants, whether they are officially labeled that or not.

What kind of cop-out response is that?

I really don't think you understand the PKK's ideology or agenda. After how Turkey has attacked them and related forces that are fighting ISIS and such, I say fuck waiting for them to kill you, shoot fucking first. I mean, Turkey has even been allegedly directly arming ISIS.
What kind of cop-out response is that?
Honestly? It's a mean one, because Conscript has posted the most ridiculous shit and I'm getting kind of tired of trying to hack through crazy commie-speak.
I really don't think you understand the PKK's ideology or agenda.
Oh, I get it, I just don't agree with it at all.

I'm not going to dispute that the Turkish government isn't full of nice people but this "oh the kurds, the poor kurds can do no wrong!" shtick is pure horseshit. You must be referring to the YPG, but do take note that Turkey allowed Iraqi Peshmerga forces to join the fight from Turkish soil during the fight for Kobane.
Don't mix facts here, you're supporting a terrorist organization simply because they're Kurdish.

Oh and yes, I'm absolutely one of those no good reactionaries who want nothing to do with the socialist revolution. I'm not going to apologize for not being dumb enough to drink the red kool-aid.

Just replace Turkish with Afghan and you're now the Taliban
They're probably pissed that Turkey have decided to be racist again and started bombing the absolute fuck out of the Kurds south of the border. They had a peace agreement but Turkey violated it, so they did too. Turkey should stop complaining about not being able to oppress an entire race of people. It's not the racist fucks in Istanbul that get killed, it's the Kurds. A lot of police officers from the region are Kurdish as well, being forced to either work with the Turkish against the PKK or lose their homes and villages. I had a massive effortpost on Turkish Warcrimes in a thread a while back, which i'll quote, which details why the Kurds have a right to be fucking pissed.

It's rather large so i'll just link it here. Also the thread is locked and i'm too lazy to re-write it all. Link
police are not soldiers and should not be cast aside as "non civilian" like so.
Depending on how they are armed and used they can be considered paramilitary forces, though I don't know enough about Turkey to say if they are or not.
What exactly am i misinformed about? Not attacking you, just curious. I drew my conclusions from a bunch of well respected sources, but i'll encourage you to explain it.

You consider SWAT a paramilitary force?
You consider SWAT a paramilitary force?
SWAT can be considered a paramilitary force. They're police equipped with military equipment and trained in military tactics.
