Then why did you say you would shoot someone for taking your belongings? [editline]06:57PM[/editline] I don't remember going out and trying to kill people with guns either. Very few gun owners do. Remotely none are legit gun owners. Again, stupid argument.
Plenty of people do go out and kill each other with guns It doesn't matter whether they are 'legit' gun owners or not
Plenty of people do go out and kill each other with guns It doesn't matter whether they are 'legit' gun owners or not
If they're not legit, then what will make them obey the law in the event of tighter gun control?
If they're not legit, then what will make them obey the law in the event of tighter gun control?
They probably wouldn't but it would be harder for them to get hold of a gun
Plenty of people do go out and kill each other with guns It doesn't matter whether they are 'legit' gun owners or not
Just because some idiots 'go out and kill each other with guns' doesn't mean we should ban them for the rest of the responsible people. That's like saying just because a few irresponsible people get drunk and cause fatal accidents with cars that we should ban all cars because they are dangerous.

That's like saying just because a few irresponsible people get drunk and cause fatal accidents with cars that we should ban all cars because they are dangerous.
But cars have a primary use that isn't to cause death
Colorado = redneck guys. I guess that would make you a terrorist for being from Saudi Arabia? [editline]02:17PM[/editline] NOt exactly my point. We aren't short on bullets, we're short on the whole shibang, gunpowder/shells/bullets put together. [editline]02:17PM[/editline] boolits
One thing we're apparently NOT short of is socially rejected besserwissers who specialize on instruments of killing.
Plenty of people do go out and kill each other with guns It doesn't matter whether they are 'legit' gun owners or not
You act as if guns force people to wake up and say "You know what, I think I'm gonna go shoot up a mall today".
You act as if guns force people to wake up and say "You know what, I think I'm gonna go shoot up a mall today".
They don't force people but they make it easy
They probably wouldn't but it would be harder for them to get hold of a gun
Explain your reasoning. If you ban guns today, it'd be impossible to significantly reduce the number in circulation. With modern firearms lasting more than 30,000 rounds on average, I don't see them just up and falling apart due to age. They'll pretty much always be around and in bulk. Currently the easiest way of obtaining a gun is to buy one privately face to face. No laws will ever affect that beyond scaring the "legit" citizens into not breaking the law. But that doesn't matter because they're not the people going out and killing people. No matter what you do, getting a gun if you really want one, is always going to be easy.
They don't force people but they make it easy
And what about responsible gun owners? People who aren't mentally insane? They don't go on random shooting spree's.
But cars have a primary use that isn't to cause death
Sparklers primary use is to put on a pretty light show. But with some duct tape you can make a powerful explosive that'll land you in prison on terrorism charges. It doesn't matter what their "primary" use is. If they're abused to do wrong with, it's all just the same.
You can significantly reduce the number in circulation by seizing them and possibly destroying them
You live in fairy land. Yea because people are just going to turn over $2k investments to be destroyed. Yea fucking right. The government doesn't have a record of who has what. It'd require door to door warranted search. It'd be impossible for the government to do that. [editline]07:08PM[/editline]
That doesn't seem like a problem significant enough to warrant the banning of sparklers
They did in my state for a season.
Point them out then rather than pointing blindly in the dark.

If a person treats a gun as if it is loaded at all times, they are safe.
That's sort of what I said.
Common sense when handling a gun is one of the most important things a person needs to realize. If you act accordingly and handle it properly guns are very safe.
If guns were safe you wouldn't have to handle them so carefully. They aren't safe. That's WHY you need to take precautions.
They're always dangerous, and yes they're deadly.
You just said "If you act accordingly they are safe" and then you say "They're always dangerous."
The point is, guns are spontaneous and aren't going to randomly discharge with no reason.
Guns are spontaneous, but they aren't? Do you know what "spontaneous" means? [editline]07:09PM[/editline]
You don't understand the law.
Hahaha. Please don't talk like YOU understand law.
You live in fairy land. Yea because people are just going to turn over $2k investments to be destroyed. Yea fucking right.
lol SHIT BILLY THE DEMOLIBERALFAGGOTCRATS ARE HERE TO TAKE OVER OUR COUNTRY GRAB YOUR RIFLE GRAB YOUR GUN THE SOUTH SHALL RISE AGAIN
The Democrats had the south in the Civil War. Since then, they've tried to become the "acceptance party" but it isn't really working for them. Then, they all migrated north.

[editline]12:12AM[/editline]
They did in my state for a season.
So sparklers should be banned but not guns? That seems pretty hypocritical

My local police department has been around since 1843 and has never had a violent death in the line of duty. The whole "gun crime" issue in America is hilariously exaggerated. And to top that all off, you can replace 'gun' with 'gang' in most instances and be far closer to the truth.
Holy shit, 8 pages? Anyway, I never need boolits, because I live in a great area of San Diego, where crime is lower than the pollution. :smug: [/smug] It's kind of weird that we're running out of bullets, even though we're so militaristic. And yes: I know this has been said before. I personally don't really like guns. A CO2 airsoft pistol is enough for me, and even then I prefer spring-powered ones.
I've never experienced significant gun crime anywhere in the US.
I've never been shot so therefore there is no gun crime in America. HURF DURF
So sparklers should be banned but not guns? That seems pretty hypocritical
We had a of people blowing up their garages and injuring a lot of others in the process. Plus it scared local government shitless.
Cracking down on gang violence would be a more effective way of reducing gun crime than banning firearms.
What's wrong with a ton of people buying shit? I thought we wanted that with the depression going on. It is creating jobs.
Holy shit, 8 pages? Anyway, I never need boolits, because I live in a great area of San Diego, with the A/C blasting away. :smug:
9 pages actually.
I've never been shot so therefore there is no gun crime in America. HURF DURF
He means that you don't see people getting shot every other day like the media would have you believe.
I've never experienced significant gun crime anywhere in the US.
Come on over to Rochester. I think we have the third highest murders per capita in the country, definitely the most in the state.
Come on over to Rochester. I think we have the third highest murders per capita in the country, definitely the most in the state.
I'm pretty sure Gary Indiana holds that record. Not that far from me.
Come on over to Rochester. I think we have the third highest murders per capita in the country, definitely the most in the state.
And what percentage of that is gang related?
hmmm gun crime by country, per capita
How much violent crime in general though? Gun crime is a rather small part of the whole pie that decides how safe it is to live some where. Also why is Switzerland so low on the list? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Switzerland
Switzerland has one of the highest gun ownership rates in the world.
