Because "bans" are just another law a group of criminals will ignore.
Weed is banned and people still smoke it. I really doubt they give a shit or have a problem obtaining it.
Murder is illegal, people still murder. Should it be legalised?
So what if it is gang related?
Because if it is gang violence then a gun ban isn't going to do jack shit. Gangmembers are already going out and robbing stores, stealing from homes, doing and dealing drugs, and shooting people. All of this is illegal. Banning guns won't do shit because they'll still have them, and still use them.
why don't they melt some of the guns and make them bullets!!!

A ban on guns would mean less guns in circulation
I feel I'm repeating myself...

How? Alot of people aren't going to just give up there guns. Especially not criminals.

People would have to if there was a ban
Otherwise they would be breaking the law and would face the consequences

How so?
How are you realistically going to enforce a ban on that kind of scale, when most law abiding citizens would tell the government to stick it in that situation.

It isn't very realistic at all
I've only been arguing that the gun culture America has is not necessary

America would be better off with less guns, how that would happen practically I admit I do not know

Our country survived because civilians were able to own guns.
If everyone in American history took your approach, the whole country wouldn't exist today.

We saved alot of troops bombing Hiroshima. This doesn't mean we should use a nuclear bomb on Iraq.

Damn I've been looking around at my local gun stores for one of those Saiga shotguns. I've got the 7.62x39mm Saiga and I love it, I can only imagine that their shotguns are just as fun. How much did you get that one for? $700?

yea but each of you get like one emergency magazine of ammo. You can't filter out your morons w/ gun accidents

Lets take a look at prohibition, alcohol was banned, yet people still drank it, sold it, bought it.
Guns are illegal in Britain, yet every day there is some sort of bust that involves automatic weapons or armor piercing rounds.

Yes, guns help, but you can easily kill somebody without a gun.
America...Low on bullets?...
Sounds like a right wing revolt is in the works.

They also get training on how to responsibly use the weapon. Americans run down to the sporting goods store, get a gun, and then start shooting things.
Furry and feathered creatures are being welcomed back to Washington. Cass Sunstein, just confirmed as an Obama regulatory czar, has argued for more animal rights and new hunting regulations. The president has taken note of farming's impact on animals. And Bruce Friedrich, VP of policy and government affairs for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in Washington, has hit the road to debate veganism on America's college campuses. "It's about convincing the nation's best and brightest to take concern for animals seriously," says Friedrich, who scored points at Harvard this week and plans stops soon at the University of Pennsylvania, Penn State, and Brown. The 1991 Grinnell College grad says of the new era: "In an array of ways, the Obama administration is better for animals than any previous administration, though we do, of course, have a very long way to go."
Weapons are protection, both directly and indirectly. I went to Montana a few years back and in a town near the border I went to I saw people carrying their weapons open carry. It was illegal but no one disagreed with it, cops talked with the people like it was nothing. I asked someone about it and they hadn't had a single robbery in like 2 years, and hardly ever was a weapon used against someone openly like happens all the time in other areas.
The reason is, any mother fucker who thought he was going to rob some place, or shoot someone, knew in the back of his mind that anyone around including the person he's going to fuck with is going to shoot him. Sometimes the best way to fight a wild fire is with a controlled one.

Media is fucking america over with their dramatic and terrifying news stories that makes americans feel like they need to overprotect themselves when there's no real threat near them.
In my city I've never seen a real gun (except on the shooting range in a nearby village) and the bank haven't been robbed in 20 years.
We don't even have patrolling police here.
Bloody retarded Americans...

Uhh, that's fucking terrible.
It instills this false idea of citizen policing when the citizenry has no place enforcing or deterring crime.

When someone tries to commit a crime the citizenry isn't supposed to fucking shoot them.

America was deffo a lot better when we had vigilantes who didn't get in trouble for shooting the fuck out of someone committing a crime. Not that I was there or anything, though.

Yeah we were way better when we defied constitutional rights to trial, justice and appeal and we just went out lynching people.
By the by, the KKK was a vigilante organization.
Vigilantes are scum.
