Sense 1, God 0: UK Government bans religious teaching in Free Schools.

Of course they're not going to allow creationism. This would be news if it was the US government
So wait, they've only banned the teaching of religious theories that go against proven scientific facts?
That's good, I was worried that RE in general had been banned. Potentially incorrect or not, I enjoy learning about other people's beliefs.
Apparently creationists cannot even open schools now? If it contradicts "established" thought it cannot be taught? And this does not resemble state-enforced opinion how?
Guilty of suppression of free speech, the press, freedom of religion, property, and free exercise thereof on all accounts. Way to go.

They're not banned from opening schools. They're banned from warping the curriculum and passing of religious doctrine as science.

They could open them if Creationism were not to be taught or mentioned in anyway, but then again they wouldn't be Creationists at this point.
Basically, what this does is ban people and groups from making shit up then trying to teach it in schools as if it were fact. There has to be evidence and reasoning behind it.
European continent, best continent.
This is a terrible blow, my RE teacher taught about multiple forms of religion indiscriminately and made me the open-minded guy I am today.
There is such a thing as an intelligent Christian, and a purposefully ignorant atheist.
I'm all for the debunking of creationism, but banning Religious studies outright in school just goes against the principles of learning itself.

I read poorly, thank goodness.

It bans teaching anything that lacks evidence and reasoning behind it. The main topic is Creationism, which is banned from being taught as historically or scientifically accurate or true.

One step forward
Just wait for the two steps back.

I had a dream a couple nights ago where the sun disappeared and we all died. This is the end :v:
I blame my lack of sleep. I get to bed late and set a loud alarm to wake myself early in the morning.
I'm done at this point, the link is there, pop your bubble if you like. Most people won't.
I've got nothing left to do but contribute to other discussions on fp
I'm all for a good conspiracy theory, like big pharma buying out potential cures (not illegal btw, they could actually do this) or 9/11 having been more than just a terrorist attack by some fags from Afghanistan, but man... you're telling us to pop our bubble while you're there spouting off non-sensical shit in between sucking on your crack pipe? You need to stop doing drugs, now. It is not helping you.

Oh man this reminds me of a guy I met at a party. He was so crazy people formed a circle around him to listen to him. The guy was high as fuck, and started talking about chemtrails, vaccines, etc... but then he started talking about HAARP and my friend had enough. The schizo guy talks about how many gigawatts it takes to power HAARP and my friend goes "ONE POINT TWO ONE (1.21) GIGAWATTS!". My other friend caught on and said "WE NEED TO REACH 88 MILES PER HOUR". Now everyone else starts to click in and as he talks about HAARP, we all start throwing in random sci-fi bullshit to what he's saying and he's not even sure whether to agree with us or not. Good times.

Sorry Jenkem, we've already filled our crazy quota.

No they are just required to teach kids about reality, not mythology that contradicts scientifically proven fact.
