Speaking of Scions at car shows, I remember sitting in one that had a "back seat" in name only, because the back of the front seats literally touched the front of the back bench seat. And yes, the back had seatbelts. There was absolutely no way to sit in the back at all.
That was probably the FR-S. The back seat exists only for insurance purposes.
Solid marketing, butt awful amenities and shoebox design. Or for the same price you could buy an entry Honda or ironically enough, an entry Toyota you could still be driving right now because it was actually built right, instead of corners cut.
I mean they literally made a car with a cut corner [T]http://images.hgmsites.net/med/2010-nissan-cube-020_100188872_m.jpg[/t]
The Scion FR-S is/was sort of nice [t]http://www.autoguide.com/images/content/2013-Scion-FR-S-Firestorm-Feature-0424_rdax_646x396.jpg[/t] Wouldn't be my coupe of choice but that particular one isn't bad by any stretch IMO, not like those suv monstrosities at least.
haha i loved scion cars. even the boxy one. i thought that shit was hype when it first came out, that was back when nobody had ever seen a square car before. then other companies did it and did it way better so people pretty much hated the scion
I own a scion (it was cheap and my previous ranger was a timebomb on wheels) While it drives nicely and has a great interior, the biggest drawback is DEFINITELY the act of explaining "why yes, i do drive that toaster car over there." Seriously, i'd love the car if it didn't feel like i was making fun of myself whenever someone sees it and thinks it's funny. But as of now it just makes me wish i had a more normal, boring looking car
There's Uber, there's Google, there are half a dozen other companies that are marching us toward a pool of completely driverless electric pods that we call with an app. No oil changes, no insurance, no break-ins, no alternate-side street parking, no pains in the ass. You just get where you're going when you need to get there.
oh man please let this actually happen in my near future, this is what I dream about. I hate cars, I don't find them fun, I've never wanted to own one, and a network of computer controlled electric pods efficiently and safely getting us all around would be amazing for me sure, I get that to some people cars are a hobby, but to me it's just something that gets in the way of my life. something that could also potentially kill me if someone on the road has a lapse in judgement or just reacts too slowly. most annoying part is that it's only a necessity because the housing cost in the middle of the city where I work is drastically and arbitrarily higher than the cost of a much bigger, much nicer house just a 15 minute drive away, so I have to drive, unless I want to walk 3 hours a day. and designing a car to look extra weird or exciting or xtreme isn't going to make buying one any more attractive to me. especially if it looks anything like a scion.
Doesn't this mean that they will be just selling the scions as toyotas like they do in every place that's not USA?

It wasn't. Also I hope your dream doesn't come true.
RIP the ugliest cars of a generation.
I dunno man, I love my FR-S. Such a beautiful drift machine. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/bHobGUT.jpg[/img_thumb] Then again its proper name is the Toyota GT-86. And I'm probably going to do an emblem swap for that on it and change the vinyls to match it sooner or later. :v:
You forget PT Cruisers.
Pontiac Aztek.
Pontiac Aztek.
But at least the Aztek is retroactively kind of cool now
I'm not sure about tC's reputation here, how was it?
Baby's first sports car Same story as the old Mitsubishi Eclipse; looks sporty, but gutless and dull.
But at least the Aztek is retroactively kind of cool now
Only because Walt white turned it into a murder wagon/ drug mobile
Only because Walt white turned it into a murder wagon/ drug mobile
N Hey at least its something. The PT Cruiser has nothing except being an oversized Dodge Neon.
