It's cheap. It's trope. It's been used a million times.
Exactly like the original TNMT cartoon
That doesn't make it any better.
The main gripe that I have with the film is the fact that they aren't mutant turtles, they're aliens from outer space.
Teenage Martion Ninja Turtles ?
Micheal Bay is the Uwe Boll of tv shows
From the look of it, Michael Bay just Googled "worst tmnt fanfic", took the first result and bought it.
That doesn't make it any better.
Yes it does. What exactly do you want from this movie? Do you want a darker plot, with more seriousness, some drama and less humor? Well guess what. The 2003 series had that. And it failed

We already know that they wear different colors to be distinguished, there's no reason why he needed to elaborate upon that.

For a kids movie, its talking about things that kids wouldn't watch.
If these are the only problems then I guess I will watch it as a few dialogues like this do not bother me.
He's gonna fuck 'em up like he did with Transformers and now TMNT.
I wouldn't say Bay's awful transformers movies fucked Transformers that much. I mean, those movies brought RTS and HFTD into existence, and they were fucking awesome.
Guys, guys, guys... "TMNT", not TMNT... Take it as a grain of salt.
I think people were expecting something more nitty-gritty for the film
I actually really love his Transformers movies. Enjoyed every single one of them a lot.
It sounds as cheesy as any of the other films/cartoons Not sure what is wrong.
I actually really love his Transformers movies. Enjoyed every single one of them a lot.
The first one was okay. The rest... exponentially worse.
The 1986 animated Transformer movie/advertisement is better than every Micheal Bay Transfromer film combined, just look at the intro: It's perfect. It sets the scene, mood, conflict and main villain in the first two minutes without being rushed. Plus The music fits perfectly. In short, fuck Micheal Bay.
I have that Movie on Blue-ray in 1080p  And I bet the new movie's intro won't stand a chance against this: This guy did a stop motion version
the original tmnt was horrendously cheesy as well. what's everyone getting riled up about, then?
Yeah, it's too bad good films stopped being made after 2000. Who can forget such great 90's films as Pirates of the Caribbean, Up, Momento, Pan's Labyrinth, Wall-E, Final Destination, District 9, Donnie Darko, Taken, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pitch Black, or Rango?
ONLY 90S KIDS WILL REMBR DIS
I was never, ever a fan of TMNT. What I don't get is why he's herniating to use all the same shitty cliche/puns/style of dialogue from the cartoon (I think?) while inserting curse words willy-nilly. Did the original turtles swear? I thought they had really terrible catch phrases and stuff that were funny because they were so bad and classic. If it's going to be filled with adult (movie, media, etc) references and swearing; then it's probably not a kids trifle (with today's generations I never know though,) but I don't see what else there is in this. Action, comedy, explosions? I hope he doesn't take this shit and run it too far into the ground. I'd be marginally upset if someone did that with my childhood cartoons as well. :/
Pirates of the Caribbean, Up, Momento, Pan's Labyrinth, Wall-E, Final Destination, District 9, Donnie Darko, Taken, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pitch Black, or Rango?
One of these things is not like the others.
Wait, Casey is a guy? wat
Might be so cheesy it's good.
Wait, Casey is a guy? wat
No, he's a transgender woman dressing as a man
I don't know much about TMNT but why is this "so bad"?
It's cheesy and generic. This is the kind of thing we wrote in middle school, and I'd say that goes for all the little snippets in the OP.
I need some alcohol, where's my fucking Jack Daniels...
It's a new century, the start of 2000. Where movies are only prequels, sequels, and reboots. Nobody has ideas anymore, nobody is original. Popcorn gets more butter, candy gets more sugar, water gets more oxygen. It's all about money now. Nobody gives a tit and a half about what you think. Everyone in real life dies from now on.
Originality will come back.. It's just going to take a while. We have to get used to the run down original ideas before the new generation sees them and comes up with better ideas of their own because ours were so shitty.
It seems people are getting in a gripe because these are the kind of cheesy lame jokes tailored for the late 80's and early 90's and it's been over 20 years and everybody is all grown up and have different tastes/expectations now. Some of you should re-evaluate what you actually liked about the original TMNT cartoon aside from it's monetary nostalgic value, and then apply those characteristics to what you will see with this film, I wouldn't be surprised if they are quite similar. TMNT is being recultivated for a new audience while trying to reach out the old audience, take it for what it is, It's going to be cheesy and lame, because that's what TMNT was, stop expecting a shakespearean screenplay. Stop expecting it to have new and fresh humor, it's going to be based on 80s-90s type type of humor, so the reason why the jokes might be old and over used, that's because it's been 20 years. Overall, wait until the movie comes out.

ANYONE could think up better jokes. I can't believe they're gonna fuck up Casey Jones too, of all the people to tone down for the sake of kids they had to do it to him.
