G2A do use gifts.
They send you the URL to accept the gift once you've bought it.
Literally the recommended offer for rocket league on g2a is a gift.

Obviously rocket league doesnt use VAC but G2A does sell inventory gifts.
EDIT:
Even rust on g2a offers gifts, so if cheaters buy copies of rust on g2a then the seller is fucked.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/xAtdgvU.png[/t]
It fucks over g2a sellers and cheaters as copies may become more expensive if keys are hard to get.
Then fucking disable using trade offers for gifts? We have a live trading option you know
That's garbage for giveaways.
No one will have any incentive to gift steam games to randoms now.
Gift a game without vac?
How many people actually end up gifting the same vac enabled games so much that not being able to becomes a problem if they get banned from gifting that game? I expect a massive percentage of people who buy more than one gift of a game are gifting to themselves. It hurts legit users a bit, but honestly how often is it essential that you buy a third copy of csgo, and only csgo, for your cousin but you're friend already got a vac ban?
People keep mentioning this vac ban embargo stuff but it's not the only reason this is stupid, they completely disabled being able to send them to inventory, meaning they can't be traded for or traded to keys and items etc, which is a pretty convenient use of inventory gifts.
Now I'm worried if this is going to retro-active? I've given away far too many games that I've had as duplicates through Humble Bundle and the like, if those count I could be screwed.
Gift a game without vac?
Yeah lol lets just make adding vac to a game something people will actually have a legitimate reason to argue against.
Also look how many fucking vac games there are. Some of the best, too

Humble won't be affected, direct through steam will
While I could see where they're going with this, if anything requires a three strikes policy, it's this.
If three friends you happened to gift the same game to are VAC banned in that game, something probably actually is up. If just one friend does, you're probably getting blamed for something you didn't intend.
Yes, I completely agree; if they implement a three-strike policy, then this idea would be brilliant.
But, as it is now, I cannot agree with it; I shouldn't be held responsible for my friend's irresponsibility.
I can see a psychological factor here, though; many cheaters may start feeling a bit more guilty about cheating if they received the game as a gift from a friend, since they'll be putting their friend in trouble, not just themselves; however, the only way this will work is if Valve goes very public with this policy by posting it on the store page or something. Otherwise, people won't be aware of this policy, since many people avoid reading the rules.
The fuck is wrong with you people? What did they do wrong here that apparently makes Valve more shit or retarded? This is pretty directly targeted at places that sell games in bulk in the third party like G2A, preventing them from stockpiling games that hackers can buy on the cheap. It also hinders people from just giving their dumbass friends games on new alt accounts over and over when they get banned.
i once bought modern warfare 2 for myself and a small circle of my friends. one day, we were all playing and we got put in a modded server. all of us left, but one of my friends still got banned. with valves new regulation, i will get punished for this.
convince me that i deserve to be punished for that. go ahead, do it. tell me that i deserve to have been punished for buying games for my friends.
Am I the only one here that's ever traded inventory items for some of these games? That's a big deal too. It'll be impossible now.
[editline]4th August 2016[/editline]
I mean shit some of the games have preorder bonuses that are currently only attainable via inventory gift trading..
Okay, so this punishes legitimate users, and noone else
If you're sad enough to literally buy multiple copies of a game so you can get away with cheating repeatedly, and you already have the patience to create a few dozen accounts, and accompanying email accounts, what's to say you don't have the patience to just buy the game on every seperate account
shit i just realized i cant give games away anymore, either.
i have these sitting in my inventory, and i like to give stuff away to random people once in a while
guess i cant do that anymore because of valve

"This game shouldn't have anti-cheat because then I'll get in trouble for selli-gifting it to chea-friends!"

How does this punish legitimate users? It literally fucking doesn't unless they're massively irresponsible.

No one said you deserve it, but cheating is probably the biggest problem facing csgo (that and fuck those SMG weapon sounds/fart250). You lose the ability to buy that particular cod game (how many times have you bought it since, out of interest?) and that sucks, people without phones can't play non prime mm, that sucks. The question isn't whether this has collateral, because it does, but whether it helps more, which I honestly expect it will.
"This game shouldn't have anti-cheat because then I'll get in trouble for selli-gifting it to chea-friends!"
if you think that only cheaters are upset by this, you are ignorant as hell.

Seems like the fault lies with Modern Warfare 2 for having shit matchmaking then? They can detect it as a modded server but can't remove it from the pool?
This doesn't even affect cheaters at all, it only affects key resellers and legitimate users.

iirc super mnc is f2p and is not as good as monday night combat
if you think that only cheaters are upset by this, you are ignorant as hell.
I'd say people pretending this is going to cause some massive problem and getting outraged are delusional as hell. Don't cheat, don't give shit to people who do cheat.
This doesn't even affect cheaters at all, it only affects key resellers and legitimate users.
At least it'll annoy the cheaters who send copies to alts from their main

[editline]4th August 2016[/editline]
The VAC porn subreddit is going to be fucking great after this because of all the people crying because they can't give their hacker friends CS:GO on their main account any longer. And stupid people thinking they're banned because their friend for banned.
I'm just getting flashbacks to the overwatch threads over the weekend after Blizzard did their banwave with kids threatening to start fucking lawsuits against blizzard for banning them for hacking.
I'd say people pretending this is going to cause some massive problem and getting outraged are delusional as hell. Don't cheat, don't give shit to people who do cheat.
yeah thats exactly why i dont approve of this change. please re-read my posts.
This screws over SteamGifts, but Valve can't afford to care about them while combatting cheating and alt abuse. I won't be giving away gifts to randos anymore via there over this.
Cheaters are why we can't have nice things.
yeah thats exactly why i dont approve of this change. please re-read my posts.
I read it. Worst case scenario you can't gift copies of modern warfare 2 now. If you cant give any games now, you've done something else that you aren't admitting to.

or really it's because valve can't think of an actual solution that we can't have nice things
Okay, so this punishes legitimate users, and noone else

We've got ourselves 5 cheaters. You've got Bobby. He cheats for a bit of a kick, but doesn't care much for it. He's not interested in paying for cheats because he's 13 and doesn't have the money to drop on a cheat, so he uses free cheats. Vac detects all free cheats, so he stops cheating. So, people cry, "WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER 4".
So we move on to Danny. He's an adult on a 9-5, and once he's done everything else he doesn't have time to practice cs, so he pays for a wallhack. To stop him, vac gets more sensitive to things drawing onto cs. Danny gets vacced and seen as he doesn't want to spent more money, he moves onto the next game. Whilst it stops Danny, a few people using overlays get banned as well. "YOU'RE ONLY HARMING THE CUSTOMER, THERE'S STILL 3 CHEATERS!"
So we get to Dave. He's an 18 year old in summer with a job. He's happy to subscribe to a cheat and buy more copies of the game all day. He gets kicks out of griefing the other team. Valve implements prime mm to hit him. He now gets stuck in games with smurfs, other cheaters and gives up, seen as he doesn't want to register a new phone number to each account every time he has to change. This also leaves those without phones in this hell. Again, the cries come. You've still got 2 left!
So we get to here. They stop people being able to convincingly stockpile an infinite stack of games. This hurts those who do giveaways, and those who weirdly gift a game very often, but it also stops Jerry, the bitter griefer who wants to ruin games by spinbotting. And there's one left.
He's the guy who's willing to go to the end of the earth to cheat and tbh, he'll always cheat. But he's rare, and so all the prior efforts have taken cheating from being universal once you go over a certain rank, to a one off in thirty games. There's collateral, but it's far less significant than the benefit.

yeah i just realized youre not looking for a discussion. youre just here to play pigeon chess, and im not going to waste my time with you.

oh i can still do everything i want on steam. you missed my point, and im not surprised, because like i said, youre not looking to have a discussion. youre too blinded by your hate boner for cheaters. i'll gladly discuss this with someone more mature and level headed than you, but not you. youre worthless to spend any time talking to.
I'd say people pretending this is going to cause some massive problem and getting outraged are delusional as hell. Don't cheat, don't give shit to people who do cheat.
and don't give away anything ever just to be safe. fuck giveaways because valve can't implement a proper anti-cheat method.
if valve is really trying to combat cheating they should just do with CSGO what blizzard does with Overwatch and ban mercilessly for life.
these restrictions will affect legitimate users along with any cheaters
or really it's because valve can't think of an actual solution that we can't have nice things
It's a cat and mouse game; there is no permanent solution for cheaters because of these annoying things called laws and human rights.
What would you have Valve do to combat alt inventory stockpiling?

I really don't see why it's hard for you to understand why this is kinda pointless and will harm people that do giveaways and stuff. It's the simplest thing yet you just can't wrap it around your head.
I don't understand why people have to get outraged and mad over something when it's clearly done with good intentions and will help in solving a problem. Sure, it also causes other ones, and you might think they're worse, but what happened to consideration and understanding that the world(/valve) isn't actually out to get you.
