if you want to get mad about how NBC handles coverage of the Olympics that's cool and all but it's not something that anybody in their right mind should consider moving to Canada over
Do you not understand exaggeration?
Do you not understand exaggeration?
knowing wickedplayer he's probably completely serious
Teenage Wasteland was a pretty fantastic way to end it too.
You mean Baba O'Riley?
the epitome of first world problems
I hope you realize that the fact that you take issue with people complaining about their inconveniences to the point where you'll exclaim "first world problems" is in itself, a first world problem.

sorry if I had realised that people would take such offense to a light-hearted joke I wouldn't have posted it
At least they showed Nick Mason

Well it's hard to read what's a joke and what's not on an internet forum.
knowing you you're probably completely serious
wow why are you holding an internet grudge, grow up
I don't know what the fuck you guys are talking about. It's just the Olympics, the greatest sporting event of all time.
Why weren't the Olympics just broadcast on BBC America instead?
we got CTV, we don't have to deal with the shit.
Really, How can NBC fuck up so badly
EDIT
Damn our Canadian Acronyms
Lol sucks for you americans the closing ceremony was great.
Move to another country to watch TV? Sounds a tad extreme.
Don't forget the free health care and how women are allowed to walk topless in public
Really, How can NBC fuck up so badly
I would imagine it's because they really don't care about the olympics. people will continue to watch no matter how much they fuck up and they will continue to rake in the cash
Why weren't the Olympics just broadcast on BBC America, instead?
Because NBC holds all rights to the broadcast and decides whom can broadcast what. Most matches' broadcast channels were decided upon beforehand which majorly fucked over a whole lot of smaller countries' broadcasting. For example we couldn't see the bmx (semi-)finals because we were only allowed to broadcast the basketball finals while we had two men and a woman in the fucking bmx finals and none in the basketball finals.

You mean CTV.

FYI, this is the show that they broadcast instead of the closing ceremonies. God, it's like a fucking episode of South Park, but it actually happened.
You mean Baba O'Riley?
That's exactly what I mean. My bad.
Oh wow, NBC seriously screwed the pooch on that.
I mean seriously who is the massive brainfart who thought it would be a good idea to interrupt the closing ceremony of the Olympics for some silly slapstick dohohoho comedy that's going to be forgotten in less than a year?

The brainfarts who will have gotten paid inordinate amounts of money for getting that show so many views.

Tell me that isn't real.
Please.
To be fair, the ceremony was already over by the time they got to the show. They announced that the games were closed, and the only thing left was a performance. Though it was a dick move, I don't think of any other reason they could of done it...since if they hosted the show after the ceremony, no one would watch it due to it being late. Though that's just my two cents...

It's real.
they payed around 8 billion to the olympics to get the rights to be the only ones to broadcast it iirc
Surely we could've just given it to PBS or something, right?
If NBC gets rights to broadcast again, quite a lot of people would be pissed off and/or move to or near Canada.
People don't even move to canada when healthcare changes why would they move because somebody's broadcasting TV wrong
