I really hate NBC not only because of their shitty olympics shenanigans, but also because they have some of the worst shows on (digital broadcast) television. I saw a commercial for that reality tv show where they put celebrities in the positions of different American special forces divisions; the tv screen started to crack and a bald eagle had a heart attack right outside my window.
Just boycott NBC. Stop giving them the benefit of the doubt.
I bet this will give Andy Botwin some bad karma.
We got Queen and The Who at least, but I was still pissed at the lack of MUSE. Shit, I don't think NBC broadcasted Survival once the entire two weeks despite it being the official song. I don't even like it that much, but it just strikes me as baffling.
no one should consider vacationing to see a sporting event
Things like the Super Bowl would be pretty damn boring if you had your way...

Well learn your lesson and watch it online next time or something angry tweets don't really do much, you know america?
As much as I agree with people pissed over NBCs coverage of the Olympics, anyone who actually moves over one company's poor coverage of a TV event is pretty goddamn stupid. "I have a lot of friends here in Los Angeles and a stable job but moving to Canada so I can watch the Olympics on a better provider makes complete sense."
Especially so when you can just proxy up and watch the BBC iPlayer instead.
they payed around 8 billion to the olympics to get the rights to be the only ones to broadcast it iirc
Money well spent if it was for 2012 only; Anyone who had internet was streaming it online and only online by the end.

I went to see the athletics towards the end, and they played Survival then, with a huge video, to warm up the crowd. They played it at the swimming too I think.
Just waiting for NBC to go "Oh we stopped early in purpose, we didn't think it was AMERICA enough!" Then start playing "I am a real american" with the flag waving in the background.
Why do so many people care for the olympics anyways? Most olympic disciplines are boring to watch.
