Studies have shown that 99.9% of war criminals don't have Facebook. Stop atrocities. Join Facebook now.
You can do both digital interaction and physical interaction. Digital interaction FACILITATES physical interaction. About privacy, I don't consider it very important. I just don't see much bad that will come out of it. Google tracks me. The end result is I see computer ads instead of Claire's or JC Penney.
What would your reaction be when Facebook knows and told you that your girlfriend is pregnant? The same thing happened with Target.
holy shit, I didnt even know I was a psychopath thanks to this article, I can finally kill me some fine people
What would your reaction be when Facebook knows and told you that your girlfriend is pregnant? The same thing happened with Target.
Idk I think I'd kinda prefer to know my girlfriend was pregnant! I know that story, it wasn't as evil as you make it sound.
Idk I think I'd kinda prefer to know my girlfriend was pregnant! I know that story, it wasn't as evil as you make it sound.
Are you in favor of SOPA/PIPA/any other dumb bill that tries to achieve the same thing?
Guys, I know facepunch is basically 90% spaghetti pouches but honestly this facebook hatred is getting silly. It's just a platform to message/network with friends, if you honestly can't handle using it because it makes you boil with rage when someone posts an outdated meme, how do you expect to deal with social situations when people are going to say stupid shit all the time? There's honestly some truth to the article, it's not like it's fucking scientific or anything but if you're not part of the platform most people are using to communicate with friends you probably are to some degree antisocial (though obviously not necessarily a serial killer)
No. Ask social people at school if they use Facebook. Then ask nerds and obviously antisocial people.
Antisocial people tending not to use Facebook =/= Not using Facebook makes you antisocial. I know plenty of people with a reasonable amount of friends without a Facebook account, I also know people with very few friends who do have Facebook accounts. Whether or not someone uses Facebook has nothing to do with them being antisocial or not.
thanks to this article, I can finally kill me some fine people
remember to have fun!
You can always just unfriend people who post that shit. Facebook can be a very useful tool as long as you add only the right people as friends.
That just leaves the people who don't even post stuff or come on facebook. Then again, I have close to no use for facebook anyway, except for a few friends...
This is textbook "correlation is not causation."
Since the article isn't implying any causation, and is only documenting the correlation, I don't see how it's a case of 'correlation is not causation'.
No, wicked, that is a shit comparison. Let's go over the benefits and drawbacks to me: *Social activity invitations *My crush is recently texting me on Facebook, clearly she wants my dick *Entertainment And drawbacks *One friend posts dumb shit oh fuck no facebook is ruined *A lack of privacy creating imagined issues I don't know your situation but I imagine it would be similar to mine.
Since when are random strangers on a social networking sites considered ''real friends''?
Most people add their real friends on Facebook, not just random strangers. I hate it when people say Facebook is full of idiots and assholes, if that is what your experience with it has lead you to believe it just means your friends are idiots and assholes.
Damn I'm now going to avoid the 6.5 billion people on this planet that doesn't have Facebook.

Being on Facebook doesn't make you more social, not being on Facebook doesn't make you antisocial. That's like saying you're antisocial because you don't have a car and people who have cars drive around with their friends.
Antisocial people tending not to use Facebook =/= Not using Facebbok makes you antisocial. "Make" being a multi-tiered word in the English language, I hope you weren't implying that my posts suggested that having no facebook actually caused antisocialness and mass murdererdom. I've repeatedly denounced such a causative relationship.
Go look at http://reddit.com/r/facepalm. Come back with your thoughts. Chances are, most of the people there are dumb kids in schools.
Why doesn't anyone ever get this in their heads? YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO ADD PEOPLE YOU KNOW. If you aren't friends with them at a personal level then don't add them!
Damn I'm now going to avoid the 6.5 billion people on this planet that doesn't have Facebook.
Make that 6 billion (soon-ish).
Well parhaps it somewhat works out that way. I see non- Facebookers as antisocial.
But what if they only use facebook and never go out?
You're confusing correlation and causation. Being on Facebook doesn't make you more social, not being on Facebook doesn't make you antisocial. That's like saying you're antisocial because you don't have a car and people who have cars drive around with their friends.
It's not that I'm confusing correlation and causation, it's that you're reversing the order of precedence. It's not Have or don't have facebook -> friends either obtained or not obtained it's friends obtained or not obtained -> get or don't get facebook. I know I'm going to get a bunch of people raging here due to facepunch's typical user base but it's basically true, there's only a few people I know who don't have facebook and their only friends are pretty much on the internet. It's obviously not a hard and set scientific law but it's mostly the case
No. Ask social people at school if they use Facebook. Then ask nerds and obviously antisocial people.
good job using a social stereotype that doesn't mean anything lmao i've seen people with healthy and wholesome social lifes that don't even touch facebook
There are always exceptions to the rule. "Make" being a multi-tiered word in the English language, I hope you weren't implying that my posts suggested that having no facebook actually caused antisocialness and mass murdererdom. I've repeatedly denounced such a causative relationship.
No, I'm saying someone having a facebook account or not has nothing to do with whether they're social or antisocial. While antisocial people do tend to avoid social networking websites, that doesn't mean not having a Facebook account makes you antisocial. Fucking double negatives. Also, the word social is now meaningless when I look at it.
No. Ask social people at school if they use Facebook. Then ask nerds and obviously antisocial people.
Hey, I still don't see your Facebook profile on your Facepunch profile! If you gave no shits about privacy, it'd have been linked, wouldn't it?

Its just about anything that screams bullshit. Even worse when you know the person who's posting. I get people posting that "you dont need x when you got swag" shit, I get people with pictures trying to be badass by saying they would fuck someone's shit when they'd probably fall to their knees at the sight of a pencil, I get people whoring likes saying it will save/give respect if you like the picture of a kid with some fucked up malformation or some fucked up dog that makes you puke your dinner from last night... The list goes on. Better yet, just did a quick browsing... More pictures with shitty phrases that make no sense, more VOTE ME's and more shit nobody other than guys hitting on girls care about.
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5636656/hitler-dog.jpg[/t]
That facial expression. I can't determine if he's slightly annoyed OR the photographer his bedroom-eyes.
this article is incredibly western-centric
Naaah, it's just pure diarrhea.
this article is incredibly western-centric
No. Ask social people at school if they use Facebook. Then ask nerds and obviously antisocial people.
Honestly, the only people I know that DON'T have a Facebook or deleted it are fairly social, average people. All the oddballs I can think of do have one.
It's not that I'm confusing correlation and causation, it's that you're reversing the order of precedence. How many people you know has no effect on your ability to sign up to a free website. You can have no interpersonal interaction at all and still have a Facebook account. You say Facepunch is against Facebook for being a social network when that's what a forum is, Facepunch IS a social networking site, it just has a different form and attitude to Facebook.
this article is incredibly western-centric
It's just the Daily Mail being the Daily Mail.
Stupid article. I'm close friends with a number of people who don't have facebooks. I don't forget they exist. That just doesn't happen. Facebook doesn't replace real-life social interaction, and it shouldn't replace real-life social networking.

Are these your actual friends posting these things? If they are, do they do this in real life? If they are, why are these your friends if they drive you crazy? Taking a quick look down my news feed, I've got some photos from a beach party I went to, a friend learning to paddleboard, some profile picture changes, some more friends posting photos of them at the beach, a few random songs, some louis ck stand up videos, some shots of a friend playing american football, etc. I do occasionally get a few stupid SWAG posts from old friends that I've kinda grown distant from but honestly nothing really rageworthy.
