Texas most likely won't see shit.
So is north Iowa far enough north? And is it visible at night time? I have to drive out of town to get a good luck at the sky. :frown:
I live high up in California (about 2 hours or so from Lake Tahoe). Do you guys think I'd be able to see it?
I'll drive out of town about 11:30 and report back results for north Iowa. I don't have a camera. :sigh:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=64 # Wednesday, August 4 – 07:00 UTC # Wednesday, August 4 – 17:00 UTC (aurora not visible in daylight) # Thursday, August 5 – 00:00 UTC # Thursday, August 5 – 06:00 UTC What would those be in Chicago time?
I'm now sure that what I saw this afternoon was not the flare, or even related to the flare. Here it is though: The white line is one of the circles that were also visible and interlocking.

Then tonight it would be between midnight and 2AM. For those times just subtract an hour. [editline]10:54PM[/editline] Good luck seeing it from Chicago though, light pollution is a bitch.
I dont live in the city but thanks.
That's good. I hope you can see it.
Would I be able to see it here at 1-3am at Cape Cod.
Would I be able to see it here at 1-3am at Cape Cod.
Stay up and find out.
Southern Indiana here. Hoping to see some pretty lights tonight.
You think? I'm farther up north but I hope I see something...Fucking clouds...

Alright, gunna go outside. If I see anything I'll record it and post it in the video section.
I live about 27.3 miles south-east from Des Moines, Iowa. Can I see it, and if so, what time?
I'm going to go outside and see if I can catch a glimpse of anything.
People say that there will be a visible aurora borealis visible at the North. I hope Vancouver is north enough...
Just looked outside, didn't see anything yet. You see I dont live IN the city. Im close to it.
Didn't see anything, just a bunch of stars

I'm probably too far south :/
Did it happen yet? [editline]05:26AM[/editline] Massachusetts
Did it happen yet?
According to what I've found, it'll start around 2 am central standard time. However, if you're too far south there's a good chance you won't see it.
I'll look outside now, and at 1. If I dont see anything, I give up.
It happened like 6 hours ago, fuck. It was way too sunny out to see it.
I thought that Sun Dogs were just small patches of rainbow, I was living a lie!
Getting some really bad storms down here, not sure if it's the flare's excess electromagnetic activity or not.
my Satellite TV went down for awhile. wonder if that had anything to do with it
2:15 am here in Toronto, nothing to be seen.
