When Palestinians threw stones to retaliate, they were killed by the IDF.

One of its origins was a rather strong resentment against them after the whole Jesus episode since it's well known that monotheist religions didn't and still don't really have it nice for each other and as Christianism rose as an important religion the idea that Jews were dicks rose with it. The other one is a bit more modern and specifically dates from the very early 20th century and is far more interesting. The Tsar of Russia Nicolas II wanted at that time to urbanize the country, but influential people had a lot more interest in keeping the country urban and ignorant rather than developed and cultured, so they made up a book called [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Protocols_of_the_Elders_of_Zion]the protocols of the elders of Zion[/url] which is a fake plan from a Jewish cult to take over the world through urbanization and control of businesses and the media. This book did its job at convincing Nicholas II to never even consider planting a single factory in Russian ground, and later on was mentioned in Mein Kampf. A lot of people still consider it a genuine, legitimate piece of historical document, despite the whole thing being an obvious work of plagiarism, taken from a satirical French pamphlet making fun of Napoleon III and badly translated into Russian. The whole thing is pretty much entirely fabricated. Israel manipulating people has nothing to do with their state religion and has more to do with the fact the government is chock full of assholes.
