How do you pirate a wi-fi?
You connect to a network that isn't yours to use someone's internet you didn't pay for.
Lying on his family room floor with assault weapons trained on him, shouts of "pedophile!" and "pornographer!" stinging like his fresh cuts and bruises, the Buffalo homeowner didn't need long to figure out the reason for the early morning wake-up call from a swarm of federal agents.
As I was reading this, I thought the guy was accused of being a pedophile, and some gang of vigilantes had broken into his house late at night, until I saw the end of the sentence and thought "what the fuck? This is how federal agents act?"
Lots of routers isnt that easy to understand
When setting up my one, the bundled required fucking software (for setting up the router, for some fucking reason) wouldent work for shit
Atleast i managed to set a password through that, lucky me
Poor guy :saddowns:
The CP laws is fucking shit

Only in America!
Good thing they are not the ones prosecuting then huh.
I was referring more to the fact that they broke into an innocent man's house, then proceeded to point guns at him and treat him like he was guilty of crimes he had no knowledge of.
but that's ok right?, why should the law enforcement have to check first before jumping to conclusions.
oh wait.
-snip- fagguts pm-ing me
after someone on a boat docked in a marina outside his building used a potato chip can as an antenna to boost his wireless signal and download an astounding 10 million images of child porn
That can't be right
I bet those cops feel like assholes.
At least I hope they do.

Uhh, they did check. His wifi was being used to download child pornography. He wasn't the one doing it obviously, but tell me how law enforcement was supposed to be able to determine that?
"We know who you are! You downloaded thousands of images at 11:30 last night," the man's lawyer, Barry Covert, recounted the agents saying. They referred to a screen name, "Doldrum."
It took them less then a day to get this guy? Wow. Also what pedophile has a screen name I don't get it.

That's pirating?
Uhh, they did check. His wifi was being used to download child pornography. He wasn't the one doing it obviously, but tell me how law enforcement was supposed to be able to determine that?
by checking.
and not jumping to conclusions and making brash, unprofessional comments.
That's pirating?
Technically it is.
You can get arrested for that shit where I live.
Technically it is.
No it's not.
Just saying.
[release]"The question," said Kerr, "is whether it's unauthorized access and so you have to say, 'Is an open wireless point implicitly authorizing users or not?[/release]
I don't believe it. That slimy sonofabitch is trying to pin the crime on the poor bastard anyway.
Accusations of pedophilia are one of those things you don't even have to prove
If you have even a bit of power you can accuse anyone you want with no evidence and that person's life is over
Serious disciplinary action needs to be taken against these officers
That's more cp than I have normal porn. This isn't right.
They gotta stock up. They can't just download it anytime they want.
by checking.
and not jumping to conclusions and making brash, unprofessional comments.
I asked how they should have checked and you responded " by checking". How, being the important word, should the officers have checked that it was him individually downloading the child pornography?
They were directly insulting the guy?
Now I hate people who download and watch CP just as much as the next one but shouldn't law enforcement at least TRY to stay neutral and stick to the facts rather then concern themselves with insults?
Easier said then done, I find it hard myself to maintain a professional attitude when dealing with child molesters and crimes that involve a sexual nature. But obviously I'm not going to be shouting out shit like that. Innocent until proven guilty, so you got to push those thoughts to the back of your mind and just do your damn job. No matter what though it is still hard, specially if you have children or younger siblings.
It's kinda funny now that we're on the subject. In jail or the prison setting we got to separate and put people in protective custody if the main population of inmates find out someone is a molester or had a crime relating to children in a sexual nature. Even the lowest of criminals (murders, hell even rapists) have one rule and that is you don't do that to children.
Pretty shitty situation for the person in the article though, agents thought they had their guy because of his web-traffic and all that. But it turned out to be the guy right next to him, at least the good thing about the whole situation is that they did find the real criminal and took him off the streets.
I asked how they should have checked and you responded " by checking". How, being the important word, should the officers have checked that it was him individually downloading the child pornography?
They catch these people by monitoring what is downloaded, usually they tracking the images and all that. Once they got the information as to the location of the suspect that is when the search warrant is executed. That is how they check, start raiding the house and searching the computers for the actual images. Once you get the images you got your evidence and that's that. The agents had a legitimate lead and reason to raid the house, unfortunately for the person someone else was on his network committing illegal acts.
Children, this is why you always know how your wifi is configured or in this case, encrypted.
pedophilia is a fucking disease
people who get off to that shit need to be shot
Ten million images can't be right, they must have made a mistake.
..right?
Uhh, they did check. His wifi was being used to download child pornography. He wasn't the one doing it obviously, but tell me how law enforcement was supposed to be able to determine that?
They didn't check that he was responsible, and treated him as if it was absolutely certain he was responsible. It's law enforcement's job to do this right.

Or they just need to stop looking at it.
Innocent until proven guilty huh?.
more like guilty until proven otherwise.
GG feds.
This, I really don't get how feds can be so retarded, I can understand that coppers are since they don't have that much education and experience compared to a fed (Don't you have to have been in the police for X years before you can become one?)
But from what I can read from this article, they stormed in his house, pointed several AR's at him, called him a pornographer, a pedophile, and a creep, before they even said what he was being arrested for.
Americas police system just seems unprofessional, from the lowly rentacop(Yes, I know they're not real cops) to the "mighty" fed that needs to compensate with an AR when storming a guys home that's suspected of nothing more than downloading pictures.
Or they just need to stop looking at it.
Not that easy
Psychological help for pedophiles needs to be more available, instead of the current system that forces them underground and ends up just victimizing more children
Or they just need to stop looking at it.
Why don't you stop looking at your fetish, pedophilia is a fetish, which isn't a choice, and from my point of view, if no children is being hurt making the porn, I couldn't give two shits about it unless they take it out in the real world, which rarely happens, that's pretty much comparing violent games to school shootings, hell, lolicon(Drawn child porn) is legal here in denmark and we have really low pedophilia rates if I remember right :v:

Illustrated child porn should never be illegal
