Fuck Obama then, this guy gets worser and worser.. Ithought he would do something good for Nasa. Obama FTL.
I think it has to be said that money going into the space program doesn't just evaporate into space and disappear, it doesn't work that way. That money still has to be spent on Earth. So far we have gotten about $5 worth of economic benefits for every $1 we put into the space program by creating jobs, providing business, research and development, and so on. (though this could be a bit out of date) Honestly this is not as great as it might sound, as other government programs have done just as well and some have even done much better than this when measured in the same way. However, the point is that the space program doesn't just eat money and give nothing back. The return isn't fantastic mind you, but it is there. As for going to the moon again, there are probably other much safer things to spend the money on. On the other hand, it should be thought of as more of a risk rather than a definite loss.
All of which I am aware of. The problem truly lies in the third world, where the population is growing by leaps and bounds. [IMG_THUMB]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/77/World-Population-1800-2100.png[/IMG_THUMB] Assuming the yellow one, the population will be 9 billion in only 50 years. From 1960 to 2060 it increased by 200%.
No problem, in five years the US and EU will deploy their castration bots to forcefully take care of this issue.
NASA's budget for this project was too stretched out anyway for this to work realistically. When I saw the plan for the replacement vehicles it seemed a little weird how they where approaching it.
Fixed. :eng101:
Yes because nothing says you have a strong and valid argument better than ignoring the topic of discussion in favor of personal attacks.
As far as I got the article, he isn't actually against space exploration. He just seemingly stopped project that served practically no better result than dickweaving. We already have been to the moon, and apparently this mission to there wouldn't bring anything too much new. We should invest into projects like ISS, Space Elevators or that cannon thingy that can shoot shit to the orbit. They don't seem to be as interesting as a flight to Moon, but I thing they are much more important than it.
dickweaving? [editline]07:09PM[/editline] dude that sounds super gay
The Moon is boring
Yeah guys, fuck trying to recover the economy and make sure people aren't starving. Let's go to the moon instead, because our multi-trillion dollar debt isn't large enough.
It's not a bad thing to do. The money can be used to improve the economy and therefor make people wealthier and happier. Going to the moon is not going to help anyone.
