http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2011/mar/10/michael-moore/michael-moore-says-400-americans-have-more-wealth-/ This story is a few months old, but with all the Occupy Movements going on, this was pretty staggering. Just a handful citizens, about The size of a third of my high school, control more wealth than half of America. And America is a pretty damn huge country (311 million). And yet Republicans still think the top 1% are paying too many taxes. Come on.
I REALLY don't know what the fuck is wrong with people there in the USA. Its like... Their ignorant and evil and something bad that I don't know at the same time. It makes no sense whatsoever. People with power don't want to pay taxes and just want more power, while the people with much less have to pay much more. Its like my mind is full of fuck... Really, it makes no sense. What's the Republican's goal anyway? Destroy the country? What the fuck...
Well, Bill Gates is planning on giving most of his money away, so if they all were like that, there wouldn't really be that much of a problem in this. Still insane as fuck, though. [editline]27th October 2011[/editline] Ahh, come on 50% of the American population doesn't do this. Bill Gates didn't have a better idea than many others, he just did the business the right way apparently. It's not undeserved, but nobody needs that much money.
Yep, Bill Gates donated 90% of it (AFAIK, might be more or less) to charity. He's set for life in luxury with even the current amount he owns. Also his kids aren't gonna live a sweet life off their heritage, they gonna work themselves like everybody else with only a itty bitty amount of financial help.
Work for your fucking money then. Seriously. These people simply had a great idea, set their profit margins reasonably, and then watched people purchase stuff from them. That is the basis of all business. What do the complainers do? Sit on an internet forum complaining about having no money, no job, whilst rich people have it all, expecting someone to just come along and give it to them, whilst not actively working to improve their lives or try to make money.
Correct me if I'm wrong but... Theres nothing wrong with that. The real problem is that said people that work or "work" to have all that money, don't pay taxes as much as someone who works/"works"/works ALOT and has to pay MORE and on top of that, may even have other expenses. Somehow, I don't think 400 is the correct number... I think theres more.
With unneeded bailouts
bailouts were necessary actually (to prevent a much, much bigger crisis and subsequent global financial catastrophe had the entire financial system collapsed at once) but the fact that almost nothing was changed afterwards speaks volumes about the problem
Ain't this a load of shit. :colbert:

It's official: You're a self-deluded moron that foams his mouth at the thought of Lloyd Blankfein.
They already have this much control and they want more? What the fuck?
Show me one person who could make anywhere near these people with their labour alone?
1. Find something that your community needs, or better yet, a community that needs your skills. 2. Rather than work for someone else, start doing it yourself as a company with cool branding. 3. Apply for seed capital if you need to. 3. Do a great job, build up popularity as an awesome company that everyone likes. 4. Hire people to work for you and pay them less than you charge, whilst still taking a small amount of profit. 5. Immediately look into other monetization options relating to your business, perhaps service subscriptions or franchising (incredibly lucrative). 6. Continue for several years, perhaps start some more companies. 7. Be happy at what you have achieved and not complain about other people who have essentially done the same thing as yourself. Also you need to take into account all of the business tax they undergo as well, none of that will be included in their personal income. Just because they're paying a lower percentage. I am cool with those who earned it. And as long as the money is in houses and so on I am cool with that too sinve it works there. However I kind of doubt that one man can earn that much money in a fair way.

No way in hell.
Someone remind me WHY the republicans think these individuals need MORE tax breaks? Wealth shouldn't be as one sided as this. I'm beginning to worry about my future at the rate this country is going.
I don't know who that is, nor do I care. Bush.
He's saying you fap to pictures of this guy cause he has loads of emone and was friends was Bush, who is obviously your jesus or something.

What an abhorable thought process. Not to mention you keep calling people "complainers". We're the country with one of the biggest wealthy disparities in the world, which a rich class that keeps getting richer and a poor class that keeps getting poorer, and you want to tell me that all the wealthy people got there by just "doing a good job"? Don't make me laugh.
Do you still live with your parents?
okay this is like the third time you've posted that today.
scope do you realize that the financial service industry's vast wealth comes from glorified gambling with other people's money (real or imagined) and when they dig themselves so deep they obviously can't get out that's what the bailouts were for because by now they're just too large, wealthy, and powerful to be allowed to fail
The problem I'm seeing with this is how are we supposed to change that? There are always going to be successful people earning a shit ton of cash. How much are you going to tax them? 20, 30, 40, 50 %? Of course it's unfair that 400 together possesses that much money. But if I manage to start something from ground up completely legally, and earn a lot of money, and pay my taxes, then I'm assuming that the money I've earned are mine and that no one should touch them at all.

Don't make me laugh.
The lowest situation that you can get to in this country, is a government-subsidised house, and dole, pretty much. If you have a house and take the dole, you are not poor. You might not have enough money to afford luxuries as other people, but you are still not poor. Poor by my definition, is lack of a fixed abode, starvation, and living in inhospitable circumstances.

What the flying fuck does it matter if he lives with his parents? I agree with him. And seeing how our views apparently only count for something if we're independent and live comfortably, well, I fulfil both those categories.
Fuck, even if you earned all of that money through hard work, you shouldn't be allowed to keep it, millions for leisure is an insanely huge waste of money.
The lowest situation that you can get to in this country, is a government-subsidised house, and dole, pretty much.
So... homeless people don't exist in your fantasy land, then. Neither do disabled people, or people who have been jailed for decades on minor charges, or have to work three jobs to survive. Wish I lived in your world.
You know scope, you're such a business expert, it's amazing to me how you're spending your time trying to school teenagers when you could be out controlling that empire you and everybody else should own.

I've never seen so many Marxists and Socialists packed into one thread
