Well in my state they can fire you for any reason... They don't have to tell you why you are being fired, maybe they are referring to that.
And the pictures saying "these states can fire her because she is gay" I don't quite like. Those states you can fire people for ANYTHING. Which unless it is a government position I think is fair. If the company wants to run that way, they should.
They can fire criminals for being criminals. They can fire you for telling another employee to fuck off. They can fire you if you steal. They aren't states that have written out on employment forms, "IF YOU ARE GAY YOU WILL BE FIRED!!!!!!!" They are states in which, any actions can get you fired without them having to tell you why.
I live in one of those states and none of my gay friends have ever been fired for their sexual orientation. A few have been fired because they are shit workers, but never because they are gay.
