Trump may be causing lots of issues for the US and foreign relations, but china's "quality" of life is pure shit. Doesn't seem to be once ounce of respect for life there, animal or human.
from an outsiders perspective, life seems cheap in all asian countries. India, china, and Vietnam all endure massive death rates from easily preventable sources and it doesn't matter in the long run because of their rediculous birth rates.
the US has a problem of keeping too many people in prison, China's problem is not having enough prisoners because they execute so many of them....

I think high birth/death rate is just associated with poverty.
This China thing was happening anyway, regardless of president, China is making moves that no one can ignore.
No its indisputably worse under Trump than it would be under Clinton or Generic Republican. The state department is a disaster and China knows they can leverage the president by simply promising jobs.
Well except Japan. I think high birth/death rate is just associated with poverty.
japan and south korea are outliers because they're the most developed socially
The old "us or them" message. Here I thought Trump was supposed to be the divisive one.
The old "us or them" message. Here I thought Trump was supposed to be the divisive one.
...Almost as if Trump's divisiveness caused this?
Xinhua said the world can either choose between China's vision or Trump's "self-centred America First policy (which) has led his country away from multiple multilateral pacts and infused anxiety into both allies and the broader world".

The old "us or them" message. Here I thought Trump was supposed to be the divisive one.
Two wrongs dont make a right. Dont use this chance to get on your high horse
The old "us or them" message. Here I thought Trump was supposed to be the divisive one.
Have you read "Making China Great Again"? Trump is the greatest gift America could have given China from a geopolitical angle
at least there's hope for America's corruption to be rooted out and disposed of. Can't say the same for China. I hope I don't see the eventual annex of Hong Kong in my lifetime.
Plot twist: North Korea suddenly overkill-annhilates China with a comically bloated covert ICBM inventory far-larger than even the most generous of estimates in exchange for the de-escalation of global action affecting the DPRK. ...t-third option? :disgust:
The old "us or them" message. Here I thought Trump was supposed to be the divisive one.
He is. There can be more than one divisive person.
This is probably not to the 'world' but to third world nations. No matter what Trump does, its on international news how our system is trying to fix shit which speaks volumes against China who when they tried to fix shit actually made it worse. [editline]28th January 2018[/editline] Their Corruption Crackdown that happened about two years ago actually made the corruption issue worse, hilariously enough.

Especially considering that a lot of said third world countries are currently unhappy with their behaviour thus far (South China Sea, dicking around in Bhutan, Border disputes with India, non-hiring of local workers while actively strip mining Africa to maintain minerals supremacy, religious suppression of ethnic minorities within their own country which are major religious groups in third world countries...the list goes on). They (or rather, this op-ed piece) isn't fooling anyone who is aware of how China operates on a diplomatic level. The Unites States, for better or for worse, is still tempered and fettered by the public opinion and diplomatic relations of other first-world nations. Who the hell is going to temper China from a position that China respects? Who do you think is going to dare to fuck over China without tanking the shit out of their own economy if a trade war ensues? As shit as the situation is, other countries are finding out the hard way that owing a debt to China basically means they have you by the balls and if you aren't scary enough to stand up to them, they own you.

Yes I completely agree. I was just stating that this was most likely an ultimatum to third world nations holding out.
China is inevitably going to dominate the global economy. They have a rapidly-growing middle class consumer economy, and they're hard at work developing lucrative new trade routes and industries. China's already fostering relationships with developing nations in Africa, they're working on highways through the Himalayas to foster trade with India - they're outperforming the U.S. in international trade already. I don't see why that would suddenly change. There isn't really a "choice" between U.S. and China. China will win, eventually. The U.S. is no longer the economic powerhouse it once was - but China is ten times that. Seriously - the U.S. will continue to decline in economic power without drastic changes, and China will end up taking up the mantle. Every western nation is already bolstering trade with China - hell, China is the EU's largest trading partner.

However, they have had to shut down their markets several times in recent times due to falling trade. As much as they're pushing for 'more trade' as others have pointed out they're actually just trying to overtake people such in Africa where their money is being flashily spent on infrastructure projects that don't have the foundation to be supported but rather instead are meant to indebt said nations with China. They're not fostering relationships with nations in Africa, they're strong arming them which is much different from the US method of fostering relationships. Trade with India is going to be fight at best, India and China have always hated eachother. They've never seen eye to eye and if India wants to grow in anyway they're going to have to start competing as well. Ontop of that this ignores China's domestic issues such as they're rapidly aging population that is going to put more pressure on them than they're fiscally prepared for. They can't grow enough food to support their population and in fact much of their land is basically useless from chlorine pollution and more. They actually had to buy up Swift, a Pork and Beef American producer, just to keep the food coming in. However, on the flip side, they're definitely coming out as leaders in areas that the US used to lead in and also are happily taking up deals and trade agreements that we abandoned which has given them more room. So there's that. But then you look at the middle class and realize that the researchers and more are actually leaving for Europe and the US, they're not staying in China to do research. I remember there was this big stink about China outpacing the US in producing papers, however that has all but slowed down due to them running out of papers to publish of them just verifying already verified studies and projects done over seas. And finally, they're just too hostile to their neighbors. If you think the US, even with Trump is bad, you should see the heinous shit they say about the Koreans, Japanese, Vietnamese and more. Trump's rhetoric is kittens to what the Chinese say.
The old "us or them" message. Here I thought Trump was supposed to be the divisive one.
I'm not gonna take China's side here because obviously the US is the more humane and democratic country, but what China is attacking here is exactly the US's egocentrism. Trump is yelling that everyone is shafting the US, and has no issue fucking over less powerful nations (Mexico for example) if it'd benefit the US. Trump is divisive as shit. China is a shit country, but maybe it's a bad sign when you have to do comparisons to them.
yeah I dont like trump but fuck the chinese government
...Almost as if Trump's divisiveness caused this?
You are going off of literal state propaganda to make your decision.
You are going off of literal state propaganda to make your decision.
Nothing in that statement is incorrect tho.
