Psycheclops, a LOT of people are going to start jumping down your throat, but before they do, I'm sorry Trump isn't the guy you thought he was.
Don't worry, I'm just as pissed as any other guy next to me here on FP for things like that. But it's still unfair to assume that we chose this to happen. We really didn't ask for this, so stop saying we do. What happened was something we didn't ask for.
Don't be ridiculous, I didn't choose this. I chose him for something else, but definitely not this. Your hasty generalizations here are not fair and not just.
Unfortunately donald trump is a package deal. You get all of his policies and rhetoric, like it or not.
I was hoping that Trump would have been the figure to catch the economics up. I thought one way of doing this is closing this wage gap. I believed if we were to increase other progresses such as technology without having stabilize this wage gap, we wouldn't just be getting rid of dangerously powerful corporations, we would ultimately create new ones. However, I was expecting him to be more of the "Big Stick" sort of ideology, such as taxes for manufacturing out of the country and such, not to be in corporate interests and deregulate some restrictions.
There was literally no evidence he would do any of these things. He just said "it would happen". There was no indication of competence or knowledge of how to do a single thing he mentioned that was positive. He just said it would be "huge" and "great". What happened was something we didn't ask for.
"What happened" is something you could have worked out with even a mote of research into the man you voted for. Rather than believing the words out of his mouth and putting faith in the idea you built up around that man. Trump is corporate interests incarnate. You should have seen this stuff coming from light-years away. He's always been this way, there's documented history upon history to show his awful behaviour as a person and a businessman. You didn't ask for it. Fine. You fell for it. I'm not entirely sure which is worse tbh.
you asked for this when you filled in his name in the voting booth
I just clearly said we didn't ask for this.
Awful. I blame all you users who predicted this terrible pick for not warning us all earlier. [editline]d[/editline] I have to wonder, does the GOP have any input on these decisions, or is it all Trump?
I just clearly said we didn't ask for this.
you aren't lying to me, you're lying to yourself
you aren't lying to me, you're lying to yourself
What's your problem? Other people are telling me I failed to see the warnings, which I did. But you just keep saying I asked for this, which I didn't. Is that hard to comprehend when I say I didn't?
You asked for it in the figurative sense that you voted for a man that everybody knew was going to do it, not in the literal sense that you personally asked Trump to fuck your shit up. Not hard to understand what people are saying, here.
I just clearly said we didn't ask for this.
I can't come up with enough analogies for how everybody knew this would happen, and voting for him allowed it to happen there is no plausible deniability, everybody was calling him out for the sack of corporate garbage he'd be was and all trump supporters could say was "oh he won't be THAT bad!" like we shouldn't take his own words and actions as any indication of who he is as a leader, and "but hillary's gonna start a war with russia!" because she supports a widely supported stance for enacting a no-fly zone above syria, as if that's equivalent to the US specifically putting tanks on russia's doorstep
Come on guys, relentlessly badgering someone from an "opposing" group without offering anything other than an "I told you so" does nothing to close the divide between Americans. Think about Derek Black and how a few people stayed alongside him and showed him a different world and different viewpoints, which ultimately changed his worldview from white supremacy. Now this isn't white supremacy, far from it, but when has antagonizing someone every softened someone's stances?
I just clearly said we didn't ask for this.
you voted for 5% of a man while ignoring the other 95%. you didn't ask for it, but you shut yourself in a box and hoped for the best.
guy lives in gold-plated penthouse in a tower named after him and somehow you actually go "wow I did not expect him to be a snob" how do you even function
glad to see he's replacing the swamp he's drained with a swampier swamp
We're going to have the best swamp, believe me. I have the greatest swamps and people- people come up to me and say "Donald, you have the best swamps."
I just clearly said we didn't ask for this.
You went into a Chinese buffet that has been known to give people food poisoning. Saw "Grilled Clab Meat" on the buffet. You thought "Well that seems fishy but it gotta better than Chipotle's so I guess guess it's fine". And now you're surprised you have food poisoning. All the signs were there, dude. And you chose to ignore them.
How the shit would that even work.
Well you see when the baby doesn't suck on the tit all the milk has nowhere to go and one day BAM. Exploding breast cancer.

He just has to nut up and admit he made a mistake.
We're not badgering him, he's repeatedly denying that he could have known this would happen when he had every conceivable indication that he would.
Find the quote where I said that. I'd be obliged to elaborate.
Quote me on that. I'd be obliged to elaborate.

I was hoping that Trump would have been the figure to catch the economics up. I get it though, I really do. A huge amount of the United State's population is disenfranchised and desperate enough to do ANYTHING to make their mediocre lives great (again), because the truth is, the establishment completely fucked over the working middle class. HOWEVER, It's completely on you, the voter, to make well educated decisions that are in your own best interests. Making a bad decision shouldn't be shameful, I mean, you have to suffer the consequences, but you MUST admit that you made the mistake. Otherwise, it will happen again. Yes, trump is a dirty fucking liar, and yes, he managed to trick a huge amount of people, but it was SO BLISTERINGLY OBVIOUS he was going to do that. Being tricked once is fine. Just admit to your mistake, make sure that you have accountability for the bad decision YOU made, and don't let it happen again.
?
I can assure you that what I expected was because I did fail to acknowledge what people forewarned, even though it was there. It's not that I ignored them, it's that I didn't do enough research on him and judged him from public impression he gave as I did with Clinton. Unfortunately, during the campaign, which I started getting into like a half a year before the election, the thing was I watched the big media like CNN, NBC, and FOX. They didn't focus on much on these warnings as much as they were pushing for "TRUMP GRABBED HER BY THE PUSSY" and "TRUMP CALLS THE LATINOS CRIMINALS AND RAPISTS" and such, and I ultimately missed the other issues. So frankly, I think I should've done more research than to rely on such.
I hope trump voters are proud of themselves
Yes, please continue to vilify Trump Supports. I guess they all had crystal balls and could have predicted this individual person getting into power. It's really getting old seeing this shit in every fucking Trump thread about his cabinet picks. This isn't directed to you Judas, but the rest of the thread. Ya'll need to stop this YOU VS ME bullshit. We're all in the same country, maybe if you all pulled your heads out of your asses and stop being smug shits we can fix this sinking boat. Because guess what if this country gets worse WE ALL HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT. It isn't like because the republicans voted Trump they're immune to the bad shit.

There wasn't much of a fucking choice this election and it is sad. I would have voted for fucking Satan before voting for the two options we had. So we can all continue to be smug and play the blame game or we can actually have a legitimate conversation about what is happening in our country. Then from there we can hopefully educate each other and work our damn hardest to make things work.
