I dunno the game seems fun but the context is a little disturbing seeing as the goal is just to kill innocents. I recently played through Manhunt 2 and even though you're mostly killing criminals and terribly immoral people its really disturbing. This sort of seems to be on the same level, a type of psychological horror. At least manhunt 2 had an engaging and impressive way of storytelling. Hopefully this game does set out to send a message and have some kind of story too.
Massive controversy aside. The shooting mechanics and bullet physics look really solid, when you or people shoot guns it tears up the environment and destroys it. Anyway we really don't know what the message is? What if its horrifying mass killings or shoot outs? Didn't you feel horrified when you watched that? Maybe that's the reaction they're provoking. But then again there dev team has some pretty conservative people to put it lightly.
no , we are pretty certain of the game's message
These days, when a lot of games are heading to be polite, colorful, politically correct and trying to be some kind of higher art, rather than just an entertainment – we wanted to create something against trends.
This is the funniest shit, a fucking "source" from an anti-GG sjw tumblr doing a write up on an obviously self aware offensive game. Apparently its confirmed, the devs are racists, thanks tumblr and assumptions.
no , we are pretty certain of the game's message
Yeah then its gonna be dumb, at least we have Kojima doing some dark new themes in MGS5, eh.
If you checked the polish vesion of this page you would have found out nothing at all because you probably don't speak polish anyway, here is says that several divisions the cursed soldiers committed a number of quasi-genocidal crimes, such as killing Belorussian(about 70 people total) and Ukrainian (about 200 people total) civilians. Granted, in general cursed soldiers had good intentions (there are several memorials dedicated to them in poland) but I can understand why they are controversial.
Byłoby dziwne, gdybym linkował tu ludziom po polsku, prawda? Pozdrawiam :v: Yep, Cursed Soldiers ARE controversial, did do bad things, but saying that they are connected to Freikorps is a blatant lie. And believing a source spreading misinformation is dumb in my opinion.
"I'm not buying that game, the CEO has different views and beliefs than me!" I could not care less if the CEO hated jews, if the game is good I will buy it. If the CEO is a neo-nazi, buying his game doesn't mean you support his views or his group.
Yes, actually it sort of does, even if just indirectly. You don't like Israeli apartheid so you don't buy Israeli products, right? You don't like Russian imperialism, so you don't buy Russian products, right? When you purchase a product from them, you're essentially giving them and their political views financial support. You can't just deny the fact that you've given them money that they are free to do with whatever they please, can you?
You don't like Israeli apartheid so you don't buy Israeli products, right? You don't like Russian imperialism, so you don't buy Russian products, right?
I don't support chinese worker slavery and yet everything I have is made in China
You have to wonder though, if this game wants to go against trends, How much are they going to put/allow in here? Can I kill children?
You have to wonder though, if this game wants to go against trends, How much are they going to put/allow in here? Can I kill children?
Yeah it made me also think. This game seems to be causing quite an even divide between people, but what if it had rape or similar grotesque things in it? Does the argument that it is "just a game", still hold?
When I saw the trailer for the first time I thought at first that it was yet another zombie survival game. Then I realized the zombies seemed a bit too healthy to already be dead :v:
When I saw the trailer for the first time I thought at first that it was yet another zombie survival game. In fact, the opposite is true - it’s a game about glorifying violent racism and white supremacy. Consider the game’s trailer, which conspicuously lingers on the white protagonist brutally murdering and mutilating people of color.
because clearly the protagonist isn't going on a pointless 2edgy4me linkin park and slayer fueled murder rampage, he's specifically killing people of "color".
Seems no different than Postal 1, which wasn't that good of a game either.
Yeah it made me also think. This game seems to be causing quite an even divide between people, but what if it had rape or similar grotesque things in it? Does the argument that it is "just a game", still hold?
It's still just a game, probably will be a terrible one if that's the case but still just a game but more importantly,it's a piece of fiction and for me,I hold any medium that utilizes fiction the same way when it comes to handling any sort of subject matter. I would gladly say "it's just a movie" or "it's just a book" and I have many times hear other people say those exact words so I fail to see how saying "it's just a game" supposedly demeans the medium
its not the "offensive" content or executing unarmed people that makes me dislike it. Its the fact its Edgy mcLinkin Park - The Game that makes me cringe.
I would honestly like to try the game out before I make a judgment. That being said, if it turns out they are racist shits, I'm not giving them my money.
If someone modded it to this would you guys be fine with it?
Tumblr or not, this is a real game, here's the trailer And there's another thread about it in the videos section http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1431451
Looks like an edgy rip off of the first Postal
Postal is satire. This isn't. [editline]17th October 2014[/editline] Um. Yes. I'd rather not give Nazis any money????
With that logic, by buying Ford autos you are giving money to anti-semites.
Dethklok better do the soundtrack. The protagonist even looks like Nathan Explosion
Just so it's clear, the "neo nazi devs" part is very likely fabricated. A quick check on the guy's facebook page shows no affiliation with far right wing parties. This is basically a bunch of dorky edge-lords who are trying to make their top-down generic shooter more interesting by slapping controversy over it so people give it free publicity.
Sure how is making a game about murdering civilians worse than people who do far worse things in real life, I find it more fucked up how there was an artist who chained up a dog in room, starved him until he died while getting dosh from people wanting to see it, this is what truly fucked up means.
Who's saying this is worse? umm http://i.imgur.com/XjS3tzM.png
TBH this kinda reminds me of Destroy All Humans. The entire plot to that game is you literally playing as a sociopathic alien trying to enslave the inferior human race. It's so high concept that the title itself is the plot. There is no justification past "You are an alien, and your job is to kill as many humans as possible."
Having watched this trailer for a second time, I think there is not one point to this game, but two: to kill, and to ultimately die. So I wonder, can you complete this game, which is completed by dying, without killing?

If they release this game I hope it comes with something to make it less serious; over the top weapons, stupid game modes, co-op, etc.

It seems like a game I'd try out, but so far the protagonist's personality(Edgy McLinkinParkSteel the Hedgeheg) and opening monologue ruins it for me. Though I'm convinced(gameplay wise anyway) it's supposed to be a spiritual successor to the first Postal.
