Well, most everyone is blatantly judging a book by it's cover. At least play it before calling it shit.
Well until the game's out all you have is the trailer and the devteam's own overhyped, pretentious presentation of their work to an already skeptical audience. And in that particular case the devs just happen to have made a bunch of rather mediocre painkiller clones (which in itself is a serious sam clone) or in one case a painkiller licensed game that was one of the worst additions to the series, and they've all been let out of their original team one way or the other to go and form their own team. So yeah, there's judging a book by its cover, and there's judging a book by its cover, editor, author, context, presentation and hype. [editline]18th October 2014[/editline]
You're entitled to your own opinion but you're not entitled to your own facts.
And my opinion is that these people are spergs who are trying too hard to pander to their own teenage years murder fantasies.
Honestly, I'd rather just go back to stealing a bus in GTA 4 and simply driving it on the sidewalk, mowing down everyone till my bus gets destroyed.
who would not want to play this after watching the trailer?
Well, most everyone is blatantly judging a book by it's cover. At least play it before calling it shit.
i wouldn't play this to begin with.
CRAWLING IN MY SKIN THESE WOUNDS THEY WILL NOT HEAL
CRAWLING IN MY SKIN THESE WOUNDS THEY WILL NOT HEAL
I don't get it, why is this song mentioned when talking about this game? Because edgy teenagers will like it?
people have opinions of your opinions [editline]17th October 2014[/editline] god forbid we have the opinion that the game is shit
The game isnt even out yet, hold your horses
I don't get it, why is this song mentioned when talking about this game? Because edgy teenagers will like it?
Because it's basically become associated with emo / edgy, so it's brought up whenever those are relevant. I used to like that song, but the stereotype has ruined it for me :v:
To be fair, that's all we can do right now, so it's not so bad that we do this, at this point, but speculate. I see the same thing happen to Bloodborne, farcry 4, and a bajillion other games. Opinions may or may not massively change once new info comes / it's released. We only know this as the game and that's it.
this is why i don't look at any media for games before they release unless they're something like this i've started enjoying games much more when i go in with no expectations
This game looks like fun, can't wait to play it. I like when media breaks the barriers for what's okay and what isn't. When someone dares cross the line, it opens up more possibilities for the rest of us. Sure it's shocking, but the amount of things that are the norm today but would be shocking as fuck 20 years ago are vast and the only reason for this is because someone thought "I don't care what people thinks is okay, I like this and it isn't hurting anybody so I'm going to do it.
I legit don't think I could enjoy this game. I feel like an asshole playing as the military guy in Dead Rising 3, who as far as I can tell doesn't realize he's fucking everything up when he "sterilizes" safehouses, so I can't imagine just being an asshole whose only role in the game is killing innocent people. [editline]a[/editline] Also I don't like top-down shooters. They just feel like shitty flash games.
And yet at the same time a lot of things that were considered "okay" no longer are. Taboo isn't a linear path where the more things that are allowed the better. It's a big field of gray areas, and stuff like gleefully celebrating mass murder with a complete straight face is going in a direction most people don't want to go.

If you don't support it, just don't buy it. Just because some people don't like a particular taste doesn't mean nobody else should be allowed to. I think the only things that are justly taboo are the things that are actually harmful, not just unfitting most peoples personal tastes.

People now consider them phenomenally influential and amazing. This trailer is likely a "bait-and-switch", probably will turn into a social satire.
Holy shit I had no idea it's our game. But yeah, as you can see we too have extremists :v:
there are games exactly like this but better easily available
Care to share a few?

I think i'd love to play this game on those days when im so pissed at someone i want to fistfuck a herd of innocent bunnies or something
I'm sorry but Poe's law is in full effect here. Prior to this game, they've worked in another studio that developed games about killing nazis and demons. The anti-hero in the trailer was pretty indiscriminate towards his targets.
"My genocide crusade begins here"
It's likely in the context of societal genocide, not racial genocide. You didn't see the scene where he stabbed a white guy in the park three times?
Why is breaking rules considered intrinsically good regardless of the merit of the individual product
Never said that. If the final product is shit then that's really all people remember about it even if it broke new grounds. All I'm saying is I'm always happy when games/movies/media in general dare step over the line of what most people think should be okay for the rest of us that don't like feeling restricted by personal taste and tradition. Breaking the rules is good, the merits of the individual product is also important. Luckily, this game seems quite fun so far, so I'm not too worried.
Couldn't disagree more but have fun I guess
I don't care if it's a good game or a bad game, if it's fun or not fun. I just personally won't be playing this one because I love humans. Playing a game where I'm practically exterminating the creature I am, the creature I love. No, no thanks, I like people and I don't want to simulate murdering them. Instead I'll play Masturbation Man: Second Servings
