Hissy fit much?
Because it's impossible to pirate console games.
One perusal of The Pirate Bay shows that you're wrong
i for one is happy that ubisoft decided to do this.
i mean its better they dont release a game at all than to rip off even more customers with drm that locks them out of their purchase
I stopped caring about anything Ubisoft after the From dust debacle, my computer LITERALLY slowed down to shit after installing it, and when i uninstalled everything, cleaned out the registry it was back to normal
i'm not even joking, they have fucking malware up in that DRM bitch
and surely a small profit isnt as good as no profit anyway !

pretty sure that was sarcasm
I said after the shit that they pulled with From Dust that I'd not be buying a Ubisoft game again. This only backs that up.
No fucking shit Sherlock, who else would steal the game, honest customers?!
Shoplifters.
It's as if they haven't realised that you could pirate the game no matter what system it's for.
Surely pirating for consoles is more difficult than the normal copy-pasting a no-cd crack, but it's still out there.
Whatever though, if they wanna lose sales, so be it.
This is not how you make money dumbshit
how about you get your head out of your dick and actually make a game worth buying, because all your recent decisions have been shit

there's not even that; if your console has been hacked beforehand (and that's not exactly hard, either).
My bro works for Ubisoft, I'll complain to him :D
my dad works at ps3 he ll ban u
"never buying a ubisoft game again" no one cares, attention whores.
The game doesn't even look good anyways..
They associate themselves with piracy so much. They'd be better off to shut the fuck up and join the rest of the developers and publishers nobody ever talks about in relation to piracy.
Ubisoft didn't say that, it was I Am Alive's development team. Way to fuck over Ubisoft, 4Player Podcast.

Although I am not saying Ubisoft is the best game development company, I don't think they fucked over I Am Alive.
I really don't understand the math. If it takes 12 people 3 months to port the game. With the game being priced at 20 dollars or so. Since the guy said that maybe 50,000 people will buy it, that's still like a million dollars. Probably an eight hundred thousand dollar profit. I fail to see how that's not a good investment.

They don't realize that people pirate their games when they're on PC due to their amazingly bad DRM.
It costs about maybe 800,000 to 1,000,000 to hire 12 guys. Include operating costs and they're barely making profit. You know, their goal.

Better version

Well better than a bad port I suppose.
no one wants your shit game.
Doing some math, and assuming they make France's average wage. It would cost them €48,348(64,523 USD) to hire 12 workers for 3 months. If they sold that to 50,000 at USD 60 they would make 3,000,000(2,247,868.07 EUR) making a profit of $2,935,577.
I think you guys forgot the costs of producing and shipping the retail versions of the game.
Ubisoft is pathetic.
Most of their games aren't even good, and they force-feed you the most poorly designed DRM of all time.
They can eat a dick, and if I were the kind to pirate games (Which I'm not.), I would just to spite them, not out of any desire to actually play their shit.
I have yet to see one DRM that hasn't been cracked. even the break proof battle log was cracked, DRM hasn't done a single good thing against piracy other then add a day or two to the torrent wait time and at the cost of pissing off every legitimate costumer

So if I take out a loan for $100,000 ($35,000 to pay off the first three months, then the game pays for itself) I will make 3 million dollars?
I guess they give more of a shit about their games not being pirated than actually selling them.
Damn it Ubisoft. I want to buy Anno 2070, but you are making this hard for me.
Enjoy the 3 activations limit because, you know, the fact that the key code is BINDED to a single Steam account isn't enough DRM for Ubisoft, they still have to pile their shit on top.
games are the one thing most people (i know) don't pirate.
You see they just dont want to bother with the difficulties of porting it to a diverse platform with many flaws in potential
They just use the pirate BS to hide their lazyness
Something I don't get is;
They don't sell it on PC because people will pirate it.
True, people can't pirate it for PC if it hasn't been made for PC, but what about the few people who would had bought the PC version? Is Ubisoft saying that 100% of all PC gamers are pirates and they'll make no income at all?
I've been saying this for years, ubisoft are a bunch of wankers.
They're probably only second to EA in terms of douchiness and bad business policies.
What I don't understand is how an educated programmer could have such a fucked view of PC users.
