Ubisoft tells gamers to stop ‘bitching’ about lack of I Am Alive for PC
I think you guys forgot the costs of producing and shipping the retail versions of the game.
Well shipping wouldn't really be anything since small games like that tend to be download only.
poop on your toothbrush
It costs about maybe 800,000 to 1,000,000 to hire 12 guys. Include operating costs and they're barely making profit. You know, their goal.
12 guys wouldn't cost that much for three months.
Ubisoft needs to look closer at "Pirating"
Ubisoft, those words hurt. They were one of my favorite devs, now no longer.
EA > Ubisoft.
I find it annoying when people are like "I am not going to buy this Ubisoft game I wanted to buy, because Ubisoft said something I don't like about another game!".
Ubisoft is a publisher mostly. If you buy games they release, you support the developers too. Don't let one develop team change your mind about the rest.
That said, this decision is kinda dumb.
Making publicities like this will only make gamer hate your company more
Well, this sucks. I've been looking forward to this game since it was announced. One off the list, again.
Can you guys read, or what? Anyways, this article is shite. Ubisoft didn't say anything in that article, it was some other guy and if you read it, it said he is from IncGamers.
I disagree with what he says, but Ubisoft hasn't said anything you idiots, at least this article hasn't made it clear.
Also, he is a creative director, not a programmer.
I really want to buy Anno 2070 but I have so many bad experiences with Ubisoft and all this stupid shit they are pulling off.. I'm not paying for their games anymore. Wish I stopped it earlier.
They've lost more. You don't lose sales to piracy, for one thing, because either A. they're pirating it as a demo and will buy it if they decide they like it or B. they wouldn't have bought it anyway. Secondly, I'm assuming SOMEONE would buy the pc version of their game if they released it, which they haven't, effectively meaning they've chosen to sell 0 copies instead of having a few people download it.
I don't know about you, but I have never seen this happen, and nearly all my friends pirate games.
Sensationalist headlines!
It wasn't Ubisoft that said this. That would be a PR disaster. It was the developer of the game. After all these years, how have some of you not realized the distinction between publisher and developer?
You do know that the developer is Ubisoft right?
Ubisoft Shanghai to be exact.
Ubisoft just keeps out doing themselves to piss off the PC gaming community.
This is probably late, but I'm sure piracy is not the real reason as to why they are not making a port.
I mean, I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but if you do that math you realize piracy isn't a huge issue and the profits are still large.
Maybe there's some kind of inter-company dispute or something. I don't know, but I do know piracy is likely not the issue.

Troll, don't respond.
Oh wow, Ubisoft, bravo..no, really, BRAVO! You have proven you are complete idiots once more!
From what I've read throughout this whole thread, you fanboys are the idiots.
Now they're just giving the bitches something more to bitch about. Those bitches need to stop bitching about us bitching, bitches.
I don't know about you, but I have never seen this happen, and nearly all my friends pirate games.
I see it happen all the time
Now we just need a good solid way to pirate console games.
Ubisoft will go bankrupt due to it's own refusal to develop games and that will totally be the pirates fault won't it? :v:
They say we are bitching? HA!
They don't realize that people pirate their games when they're on PC due to their amazingly bad DRM.
terrible reason to pirate at least admit you're doing it for free shit
Number of people who will buy the game if it's released on PC: More than a few million
Number of people who will buy the game if it's not released on PC: None
Amount of pirates affecting purchases of the game: 0
terrible reason to pirate at least admit you're doing it for free shit
I'm sorry but no. People do in fact pirate things because of shitty DRM.
Like for example this game I bought ages ago, which I think was F.E.A.R, had DRM that ended up making it impossible for me to actually play the game. So I ended up having to get a pirated version of a game that I paid for to be able to play it.
They're not releasing stuff for pc because they're too afraid making another shit pc port people would regret buying.
terrible reason to pirate at least admit you're doing it for free shit
That's just a bonus.
Spiting them for using intrusive DRM that can be cracked is always satisfying.
Would they buy it if we made it?
Uuuh, no ?
I'm not buying anything you make anymore, Ubi.
You don't fight piracy. You understand it, and try to solve it in the best ways possible. Clearly they aren't aiming for that.
Piracy is once again a poor excuse to justify the fact they prefer to develop for consoles due to its broader audience.
You can pirate it for Xbox 360 and PS3 aswell. :yarr:
