Nintendo needs to reference Robin Williams in Zelda 2015.
Zelda's dad as robin williams
I hated the man, and even I think this is cool as hell.
what did he do to you?
I'm just responding to the guy that said this was stupid. Illustrating that even someone who disliked Williams can admit this is a sweet, positive thing.
I don't wish to derail this thread with my reasons for disliking him, so ignore the following if you want.
[sp]He was a notorious joke thief. He was widely known in the 70's and 80's for going to comedy clubs, picking out the jokes he liked best, and performing them later as his own. There's an old joke among comedians from that time: Robin Williams walked into a comedy club, and listened to a new comic's set. He didn't like any of the jokes, so he stole his watch.
There's also a legend from that time: In LA comedy clubs, there were three lights in the back of the room to signal the performing comics. One meant "You're bombing. Wrap it up." The next meant "There's a talent scout in the audience. Bring your A-game." The last meant "Robin Williams just walked in. Don't use any of your good material, or you'll see it on Mork & Mindy next week."[/sp]
what did he do to you?
it isn't written law that you have to like him, plenty of people don't sit well with his style of humour or his acting, he clearly isn't saying he didn't like him as a person because i'm guessing he's never actually met the guy

So you have one thing that may or may not be true, and another thing that's a legend.
CCP memorialized the US Ambassador that was killed in Libya in EVE Online because he played a huge role as a negotiator/diplomat in the alliances that existed in the game.
thats really cool, both that an actual ambassador played a negotiator/diplomat in EVE and that they memorialized him in it
Robin Williams will never cure cancer, or solve Riemann's Hypothesis, or meet me.
R.I.P, Robin Williams, dead at 63.
way to be edgy
should i join wow again?

Regardless, going into a thread about him and going "NOW HE SUCKED DICKS AND ALL BUT..." is destined to go like shit.

There is a gigantic divide between "I hated the man, but. . ." and "NOW HE SUCKED DICK AND ALL BUT. . ." As I said, the point was to illustrate that even someone that dislikes a person can admit that a tribute like this is a very appropriate, and touching thing. So don't be a jackass and put words in my mouth, or twist my intent. You know goddamn well what I'm saying, so don't make this topic derail the thread any longer.

Comedy is basically 20% material 80% delivery. And of that 20%, most is stolen from previous comedians. Even internet sweethearts like Louis CK just rehash the tired "bitch about things" formula but it's still funny because they deliver it so well.

DoD for life.

You hated someone until he died because he stole jokes 40 years ago.
Regardless, going into a thread about him and going "NOW HE SUCKED DICKS AND ALL BUT..." is destined to go like shit.
Especially during a time of great grief.
Okay, when I read the title at first I also found this stupid. But reading that he was a WoW fan and he liked the game, makes this a very friendly move.
Yeah, paying homage to an influential individual in a game he played. Wtf seriously?
Oh, he played the game?
Thought it was weird doing it in WoW, but this makes a lot of sense now.
Give him one of those nordish funerals or whatever they are called.
Nintendo needs to reference Robin Williams in Zelda 2015.
A Super Smash Bros event match where Robin from Fire Emblem and Zelda have to team up to defeat Ganondorf.
i don't see why people say this is stupid
Blizzard memorialized a lot of people in WoW
they made a memorial for a worker that died from cancer or something during the game's development for example
i find it more of a kind gesture rather than something weird

Viking funeral to be exact.
This makes me wonder.. Robin Williams obviously had a Steam account. I say we do our own memorial.
One of the things I REALLY LOVE from Blizzard is their memorials. Check them out, my maties.

Because that went so well the last time.
should i join wow again?
Depends, if you don't have any characters at a high level it might be a decent time to play again, but if you have a level 90 already I wouldn't until warlords of draenor comes out. hit me up in pms if u wana ask shit bb
He was quite a bit into Legend of Zelda, going so far as to name his daughter after princess Zelda.
There are actually a few Legend of Zelda ads featuring Robin (and sometimes his daughter). They are pretty unique, fun, and even touching in their own way. Here are my two favourites:

Williams was actually a big gamer with wide ranging tastes, and though he was no pro he was apparently pretty decent.
A Super Smash Bros event match where Robin from Fire Emblem and Zelda have to team up to defeat Ganondorf.
This would be great.

Is something screwy on my end, or did someone make a really poor choice of font color?

It's not you, it's them.
Well, you never know. There is a Freddie Mercury statue in Montreux, Switzerland, overlooking Lake Geneva.
I just realized how ambiguous the first part of the sentence is, sorry, I didn't mean there's not going to be any Robin Williams memorial but there's likely going to be more than one, and him being memorialized in WoW doesn't stop people from memorializing him in real life and in various places.
