I really doubt that that's a picture of the final product, you guys.
Not even close.
I mean, much more simple to run natively than for other consoles.
It's going to take lots of work but it would take a lot less work than say, getting PS3 software to run natively on windows.
I'm no tech genius, nor am I claiming to be one.
That's blasphemous, so they're just deciding to change all kinds of things for no reason at all? Don't they know this will fail? Also the whole "Tiles are better than icons" was just BS.

That's why you think it's easy.
You should probably have a look at a certain Wikipedia article, I think it's under the name of "Processor architecture" or something like that.
Long story short, the CPU in the 360 is a 3-core PowerPC CPU, and PCs runs on x86 processors.
Emulating PowerPC on x86 is expensive as hell when you look at it from a standpoint of resources.

By your argument PS3 games running on Windows would be just as easy since Windows can run OpenGL.
Look at MW2, they took call of duty off the name and their preorders were shit, than they slapped call of duty on the front and their preorders quadrupled.
I guess i'm wrong, it was my mistake to think this was a plausible idea.

People need to actually read up on something before they say stupid shit.
You can choose to have the usual desktop or the xbox shit.
I wouldnt mind halo reach on PC. It's the second best game on it at the moment

cool post thanks I really enjoyed it
microsoft is going to focus mainly on their new UI designed for mouth-breathers. they will eventually phase out the actual desktop concept with whatever comes after windows 8
Microsoft tries to make change they think will be for the better, people shit on it without using it.
Windows 8! Now with added xbox theme!
God what is windows doing.
Microsoft tries to make change they think will be for the better, people shit on it without using it.
people shit on it because there's absolutely nothing wrong with the desktop concept and what microsoft is offering as an alternative is completely ludicrous and unnecessary
people shit on it because there's absolutely nothing wrong with the desktop concept and what microsoft is offering as an alternative is completely ludicrous and unnecessary
they are offering me something new that i dont have to use i hate micro$oft
Finally, a reason to fully switch to Debian.
Darn I was hoping the Microsoft OS would just die out.
Darn I was hoping the Microsoft OS would just die out.
Not gonna happen, Apple only has something like 15% of the market, Linux based systems are something like ~5%, Microsoft are making way too much money off it to abandon it.

It's designed to make Windows work better on tablet devices you mongloid. It will have no impact on the usage of a normal computer as you can just turn the entire fucking thing off and return to a (new and improved) Aero interface instead of using Metro.
Do any of you research anything before you start posting stupid shit?

Alright, I want to point something out to you. This is EXACTLY the same thing as Windows 7, just with the added ability to use some HTML5 applications on the side and to load an ISO natively. Nowhere did they say that they would remove the traditional desktop. Nobody has done that, and Microsoft is not stupid enough to do that. Nobody is.
This is exactly like the whole GNOME 3 fiasco in Linux. They made the default UI more tablet-like by default. People freaked out and said that they would be forced to use an unoptimized pile of crap because they failed to look beyond the new features that they were showing off. Behind the shiny new UI that was in all of their advertisement was the traditional desktop with the traditional dock and every other traditional feature. What you see is only part of what you get; don't worry.

there's no logical reason for people to use any microsoft windows OS. the fact that many people depend on it doesn't make it good
Vista was bad at release then they fixed it with updates. It is just bandwagon

oh good lord
This resembles a windows phone
Although if like you guys say, I CAN switch over to desktop, that's where I'm spending all of my time, so there's no problem.
Oh but they should fix those colors on the UI it looks like garbage

Aside from the fact that it's the OS with the most universal support from manufacturers and developers, it runs well on any modern computer, it's supported by incredible developers, and it serves the average man's requirements of being simple to use with minimal time spent on maintenance among a million other things, it's useless.
oh good lord
This is a fucking computer not a windows phone

You can, don't worry.
You can, don't worry.
Then I'm not worried at all.

Despite the fact that its supported by millions, its easy to use and setup, runs VERY well on most computers you throw windows at, serves everything you need and more, and constantly gets updates you are right, there is no reason to use windows. Now stop being a Linux elitist.
