This game reviewed averagely as far as I know, why is it so good?
Then, you don't know shit:

I was going to buy this, but its still $40 in Australia, what the fuck
The game is basically Stalker with a much bigger focus on the story and less on the open world part. It's great but I feel it could be a little less linear.

No.
Stop comparing it to Stalker for fucks sake, As fast as everyone sees a post apocalyptic game they go all "omgz fallout 3 stalker ripoff it sux omg"
It's an awesome game, but not ANYTHING like Stalker :v:

Yep, as he said, average.
I just noticed the system requiremets:
Optimal: 8Gb RAM
Jesus fuck!
The minimal is 1GB of RAM, it's if you're really trying to crank up the game to it's highest performance which will require more RAM.

What? I didn't say it sucked. It is a great game but in my opinion it feels like a linear Stalker, without looting, and in a different setting.
Went from $80USD to $40 here in New Zealand, no thanks
Went from $80USD to $40 here in New Zealand, no thanks
Thats half -.-
Went from $80USD to $40 here in New Zealand, no thanks
Yeah, the $80USD is fucking ridiculous (116NZD rounded - about the same as in shop) 40USD to NZD is about $57 Cheaper than store, but still not worth it.
Those saying it's like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I do believe it's the same art designer or something that worked on Shadow of Chernobyl when GSC worked with THQ, I could be wrong though :v:
Yep, as he said, average.
8/10 isn't average by any means. Either you have super high expectations or don't know what average means.
Average games score around 6/10.
If I could buy this I would and I've been wanting to ever since I played it some months ago. I started playing at 10pm or so and didn't stop until the sun came out again. Unfortunately it was a friend's copy and I've been having money issues but you know.

Depends what kind of average you mean
Most games score around 7 or 8, which means that in this case, it is average
Yep, as he said, average.
Average isn't necessarily bad.

What are you doing.
Don't let logic get in the way of his rabid fanboyism.
The game is amazing anyway. Don't see where you're going with 'how can I play this game if it isn't one of the absolute best', which is ironic because it is.
[editline]11:06PM[/editline]
And that isn't even fanboyism. Quit overexaggerating.
I bought this game for a friend 2 days ago.
I hate it when stuff like this happens :/
Email Steam. Ask if you can get the discount still. They are usually pretty helpful about it. Worth a try.
This game was worth the fifty bucks I spent on it, so for this price it is definitely something worth picking up.
The gameplay is nothing like stalker, besides the fact that it's a first person shooter. No inventory management besides whether to spend bullets or not. I would say it's like Far Cry 2 except with weapon upgrades and more focus on ammo conservation.
This game is great. It may only take 9 hours to complete, but you'll want to replay this at least once, if not twice.
Game is really good, better than S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Yeah I remember when I bought 100€ worth of games close to Christmas and the Christmas promo week started the day after where 90% of the games I had bought were now at big discounts. I sent them a ticket and they refunded the difference, managed to save about 57€ which I proceeded to buy more games with :v:
Yep, as he said, average.
I don't like how people think any score that is <9 means that a game is average or bad.

I refuse to support anyone that overcharges Australians by ridiculous amounts on digital downloads.
fo3 is shit and a terrible game so of course metro is better
get out!
you know those epic weekend sales on Steam ? just, y'know... just saying..
11:22 AM Jun 11th
Can't tell if they're saying the DLC is coming soon after, or if they're just advertising their sale.
So, this is going to sound pretty stupid, but... how do you change ammo types (military-grade to postwar) and how do you use the Universal Charger? :saddowns:
this is perfectly on time with my 5770 arriving
I hope that 5770 is your second one, because this game runs pretty bad on one single 5770
